We decided late summer of 2008 that we wanted to stay 2 weeks in Grand Cayman rather than the one week we booked at Morritts. Upon searching the Web, I came across what appeared to be a perfect place for another week. I emailed the Inn and got an immediate friendly response - letting us know that they were pretty much booked for 2009, but could accomodate us in a small unit for 3 nights and then an ocean view apt. for the remaining time. I really felt like I was dealing with family rather than a big, inpersonal place where you never talk to the same person twice.

When we arrived, we fell immediately in love with the place and really wished we had booked the entire 2 weeks there. All of the staff was VERY friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

There was excellent snorkeling right out front of the Inn. The beach was very beautiful and it was obvious that the owners took much pride in keeping it that way. There weren't the big black rocks that we had experienced on other vacations to Grand Cayman either. You could walk comfortably into the water.

The location was excellent for us, as we enjoy Rum Point and it was a short, easy drive to Cayman Kai.

Our unit was immaculate - very clean and roomy. Great kitchen!

There is no doubt that we will recommend the Turtle Nest Inn to our friends. As a matter of fact, a couple that we know from Dublin, Ohio is currently staying there. We told them they would love it and I'm sure they do!

Thanks Donna, John, Marleine and Alain!!

We recently returned to Turtle Nest Inn for a very special vacation and once again TNI excelled in every category. Amenities at the Inn are perfect for us: Our apartment was comfortable, well appointed, bright and beautiful, with a remarkable reef just steps away.

The full kitchen allowed us to prepare healthy and economical meals. Many mornings I read and sipped coffee on the balcony while enjoying the sound of the ocean right outside our door. Evenings I could watch the sunset, then take a dip in the lighted swimming pool on the patio.

Best of all, I could snorkel at “our” reef anytime, visiting with local bar jack, barracuda, french angel fish, queen parrot fish, blennies, blue tang, porcupine fish, squirrel fish, file fish, sting ray and peacock flounder. All without leaving the premises!

The Inn’s location in Boddentown is far from the noise and expense of 7 Mile beach, close to spectacular diving on East End and within reasonable distance of anyplace on the island. We are savvy travelers who pursue good value and good service. Turtle Nest Inn has never disappointed us. We are planning our next visit as a return to the paradise we have come to know and love.

My husband and I had never been to the Caribbean before and had trouble deciding which island to visit - but Grand Cayman and Turtle Nest Inn did not disappoint. Our apartment was always spotless (cleaned every day), airy and at the same time so cozy! We had a number of our meals right in our apartment (Shop Foster's Market, a short drive away), and sometimes used the barbeque grill. Eating out on the island can be very expensive, and there are not a lot of restaurants handy. (We felt the Lighthouse was totally over rated). Since the Inn is near the middle of the island you can be anywhere within 1/2 hr. and exploring is fun. And the economy car that the Inn will arrange for you is great. TNI has everything you need for going elsewhere on the island for the day - cooler, chairs, umbrella etc. The entire staff was so very pleasant and accommodating - always had the time to answer your questions, give you directions etc. One negative - the street can be noisy, especially in the early morning, so we decided some nights to close the sliders and put the air conditioner on (I really wanted those beautiful breezes all the time). Yes, it can be a bit breezy at times, but was never a problem for us. In summary, if you don't need the busyness and the huge hotels of 7 mile beach then this is the place to be!

This was our second visit to TNI, and we stayed at the inn itself (last year we were in a condo). Everything is truly excellent - the rooms are spotless, the furnishings neat and comfortable, the staff pleasant and helpful (calling a fisherman - who brought the cleaned fish to my room - when I wanted to serve fish for dinner, for example), the grounds neat (and complete with a few pick-you-own herbs growing around). The house cats and dog are friendly and heighten the welcoming spirit of the inn.
The snorkeling is great - I saw over 40 different species (and several stages of more than one species). Several guests who snorkeled elsewhere said the best on the island is just outside the door - based on their recommendation, I always went out the back door to snorkel or swim. The water was warm, so that it was comfortable swimming on those rare occasions when I was ready for something a little different and had too much energy for just sunbathing. We walked on the beach each morning - it goes about a mile in each direction. As birders, we enjoyed several short walks to Meagre bay (practically across the street) to climb on the observation structure and see what the day had brought. We very much enjoyed being in Bodden Town rather than on Seven Mile Beach - closer to the Mastic Trail and the Arboretum, far from the cruise ship tourists, and near enough to George Town should we decide to visit.
In short, there was everything to like and nothing to dislike.

My wife and I stayed two weeks at Turtle Nest Inn in early February and my only regret was that we didn't spend more time relaxing there because the setting was magnificent and the staff and owners could not have been more pleasant and accomodating. The suite we wanted was not available for both weeks so we took a smaller road-facing room for the first week, then moved to the suite. When we arrived back at the Inn on the day of our move we found that all our "stuff" had been moved for us, right down to the smallest items and stowed in the new room - no effort on our part and no inconvenience. The Inn is located "out of town" but the Island is maybe 35km long so nowhere is THAT far from the action. We had frends staying at a condo in the middle of Seven Mile Beach and we spent every day visiting them (which is why we didn't get to spend more time enjoying the Inn's facilities) - the trip to their condo (driving the "slow" route around south sound) never took us more than 30 minutes except for one day when we made the mistake of leaving a bit late - 8:30 or so - and we got caught in "rush hour" and the drive took almost an hour. But from the Inn - which doesn't have a restaurant - we drove to a different eatery every night, from Seven Mile Beach, to Rum Point, to the East end of the Island - and coming home was never more than a half hour. The Inn's proprietors were very helpful, making recommendations on dining and activities, booking reservations for us (often with a TNI discount attached at the establishment) and quick to provide anything we needed. For instance, our friends visited us on their last day on the island and the kids were upset because they had no pool toys - after a quick trip to the desk, you could hardly see the water because of all the pool toys! Unless you planned to do nothing but beach and pool, a car is definitely a must - but the Inn offers a discounted rental car package with its booking. Our car came from a major agency, at a great price and pick-up/drop-off at the airport was hassle-free [oh the steering wheel was on the wrong side, but that was o.k. because everyone on the island drives on the wrong side of the road - weird]. If you were a young couple looking for crazy nightlife and club scene, you'd be better off along Seven Mile beach but for almost anyone else, the Inn would be a great choice.
