Everything is old at this place. A warship which is not maintained well. No proper guide to explain anything.
They show a video of indian Navy, which looks like ages old CD played.
Visit if you like to see a warship.

INS Chapal played active role in 1971 Indo pak war and now rests on the shores of Ravindranath Tagore beach, Karwar. Classified as a OSA class 2 sleek missle boat, INS Chapal is small in dimensions compared to navy ships. Its primary duty was to cruise at higher speeds and bombard enemy targets with missiles. INS Chapal did exactly that by bombarding Karachi town and achieving total supremacy on the western front.

Post war, crew of INS Chapal won 2 param veer chakra, 8 veer chakra and several other awards.

Today she rests by the national highway, telling her stories of bravery to the visitors. It is a must stop place to have an understanding of how life was, on the seas and during the war

Open from 10AM to 1 PM and 4.30PM to 6PM (sometimes at the discretion of staff). A video is shown highlighting Indian Navy in general.

The place has been well developed and maintained and is located between NH17 and the Karwar Beach. It serves as a good place to visit for tourists especially in the evening. The museum has a small entry fee and the tour starts with a video of that shows the glory of the Indian Navy for about 15 minutes and then you can tour the War Ship. Nice place to spend an hour or so after which you can take a stroll on the Karwar Beach

Karwar by itself is a mesmerising place .. The township on NH 17 , 15 kms from the Goa boundry. The Warship Musuem on the shore of the Karwar beach (Rabindranath Tagore beach) is a well maintained musuem within a warship. It is informative and a good visit with children. Next halt can be the Karwar beach followed by Gadbad icecream at nearby hotels in the market .. Must see if close to Karwar
