Kelari Taverna is up in the hills of Old Skala, which overlooks Skala village and the Ionian below.
The views are to die for - especially as the sun is setting.
As for the food, we had Prawn Saganaki and Stuffed Peppers to start, followed by Lamb Souvlaki and Mama's Meatballs. We did not order dessert, but fresh fruit was brought out to us after our meal, on the house which was a nice touch!
We got a taxi both to and from old Skala at a cost of €24 euros return and the lady who took us to the restaurant said we were fine to pay on the way back! When we were collected after our meal, the Chef was ready to leave so we shared our Taxi down to Skala with him - he was a lovely chap, must have been in his 70s and didn't speak a word of English but sang along in Greek to the radio all the way down. He asked the taxi driver to invite us to his son's bar in Skala for a drink on him but we politely declined as we were going that way anyway so it was no problem for him to share.
We will definitely be making a trip up to old Skala during our visit this year for a lovely meal at Kelari!
