Well guys my title says it all.
My wife and I have been back home for three weeks now and still can't stop thinking about when we will next visit this hotel. We have now visited this hotel six times and can't help thinking that it just keeps getting better every time we go. I need to say a special thanks to Dezi "the good looking girl on reception" for our room we were as you might say "up the hill" what a fantastic view. The room has to be the best one we have ever had at the hotel and even though it is quite a walk "7 min’s from poolside" it was well worth it, room 263," hope we can get the same one on our next visit.
I must mention how fantastic all the staff are at this hotel, every one of them make you feel very special, they really do work very hard at making your holiday one to remember. First mentioned must be Dezi, well done girl you are a star. Spyros thanks for taking good care of us every evening mate.....Oh!! The battle of the trousers will continue next year but I promise I will never buy any yellow ones.
With the change of format this year in the restaurant we were lucky enough to meet all the guys on different evenings but my wife and I have a very high regard for Christopher, well done my friend look forward to seeing you next time around.
One guy that seems to go unmentioned is the chef, this guy needs a mention, he is a phenomenal cook. The food at the hotel in my opinion is some of the best in the area.
Now for the entertainment, I was pleased to see they had changed the Greek evening a little. The female singer is a winner she seems to have it all, style, looks and a fantastic voice, and the final touch was the fireworks...great evening. What to say about the karaoke evening! it’s always great fun and the guy Dave needs a medal, and Dezi if you ask me next year to sing the answer will be the same, unless you want to empty the hotel.
Finally, if I had to complain about anything at this hotel it would be this. It would be about the people I heard complaining about such trivial things. Guys If you want an all English breakfast or if it’s too hot or too windy or there are too many insects about then stay at home. This is a Greek island it tends to be hot and it is one of the most beautiful places on god’s earth and I can’t wait to return. The island the hotel and the people are fantastic.
Till next year.

Recently returned from our 6th holiday at San Giorgio 12th-26th June 2014 with my husband. It keeps getting better! I can highly recommend this hotel. Thank you Dezi for room 263,our best room yet, very spacious, great views from the large balcony. There were a lot of steps but we were fitter when we left! It is nice to be remembered by the staff, it feels like coming home. Everyone is so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.
We were half board and enjoyed excellent meals every night, all served by Christopher ( who we have known since he started at San Giorgio),Adonis and Christos, overseen by Spiros and his amazing technicolor trousers!! My husband will continue the battle of the trousers next year! Breakfast was more than adequate - cereals, yogurt, fruit, croissants, juice, scrambled egg, beans and sausages. Lunch is good at the poolside snack bar and excellent cocktails from the bar!
We hired a car to travel round the island and visit our favourite places.Hired the car through the Thomson rep who use Perfanis. We got an upgrade.
We liked the change to the Greek night especially the lovely singer with a wonderful voice and the fireworks were a nice surprise - I love fireworks!
Looking forward to seeing you all again next year. Thank you!

Room Tip: E mail the hotel in advancewith any requests they are more than willing to help.

This is a really lovely hotel that sits just outside of Skala town (a pleasant 30 minute walk, sea views all the way no issue if you are fit and healthy). The staff are friendly and helpful, 3 spotless pools, lots of comfy sun beds, great views from clean, well decorated rooms, all you need really! We stayed in room 222 which was just up from the pool and restaurant so not too many steps and we were treated to stunning panoramic sea views which was lovely to wake up to and when enjoying a glass of vino in the evenings. Air conditioning in all rooms along with a fridge (Which had water and chilled glasses inside), safe deposit box is 12 euro for the week which is reasonable, nice big shower, lots of storage space for clothes, everything you need really. There is also a courtesy bus which you can book onto daily to take you into Skala and taxi return is 5 euro (last bus back at 9pm).

Nice poolside bar open all throughout the day and until about midnight, large mythos beer is 3 euro 50, local wine 2 euro 20, slush 3 euro, cocktails 4 euro 50 to 6 euro 50, filter coffee 3 euro (not the cheapest but not extortionate..) Snack bar next to this opens from about 10am and serves salads, chicken kebabs, burgers and chips, full breakfasts etc. Again cost is not the cheapest but food is lovely especially the Chicken souvlakia which comes with salad and a small pitta and is a bargain at 3 euro 50.

We ate at the hotel restaurant on our first night and was nice enough but better restaurants outside of the hotel. About 15 minutes walk from the hotel on the right there is a stunning place called Old Times, the food and service are excellent and I would recommend to anyone that enjoys Greek cuisine! We also visited The Pines which we really enjoyed and there is a lovely beach bar/restaurant in Skala town called the Metaxa Beach which is well worth a visit for dinner/lunch and/or drinks. Right next to the sea and so pretty at night all lit up with lanterns. Would suggest if you like wine stick with local wine in Carafe’s as great value for money and white was always ice cold (about 8 euro for a litre or red/white or rose).

If you like to get out and about but don’t like long coach trips I would recommend Captain Vangelis boat trips which run from Skala beach. You simply book on when your on your way into town at a little table close to the Anassa hotel, its 38 euro per person which takes you out on a glass bottom boat to either Ithaca, Zante or around the Island. Private beach swim stops, dolphins and turtles, lovely little ports to dock in for lunch, we really enjoyed ourselves. Also some very nice little coves and beaches along the Skala town road and water is fab for a swim!

All in all cant recommend this place highly enough and would not hesitate to return, fantastic island, fantastic hotel = fantastic holiday 

great little hotel about 40 minutes walk from Scala. Rooms basic, but clean. Choice of pools, good pool bar and snack bar. Staff really friendly and helpful. Would not recommend to people not good with steps as the hotel is situated on a hillside. This is the 2nd year we've been and would highly recommend it as an inexpensive option for visiting Scala.

We spent 10 days here from 26/06/2014 on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Accommodation is basic but funcational as we have come to expect from The Greek Islands. Our room was 140 and had a two ring hob, full sized fridge, kettle and sandwich toaster so we were able to prepare some light meals the view was pretty good (lime trees did block it a little).

We ate in the restaurant once and the food was very good, however we like to get out and about and found Makis Bar and Grill good and Mikelatos Family restaurant outstanding (the atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff attentive without being overwhelming).

Do hire a car, we used Pefanis and actually got a better car than we booked for the same price due to availability (Ford Fiesta 120.00 euros for 3 days hire we had originally booked a Daihatsu Cuore) - you must see the rest of the island. Myrtos Bay is breathtaking (although we did have to walk down as the road was blocked due to maintenance work) and this was a very long way but certainly worth it as the sea is aqua and beach pure white pebbles.

I would highly recommend this resort as a holiday destination, staff are friendly, all areas very clean and well maintained and the free shuttle bus a real bonus. The pools are lovely and plenty of sun beds. We will be back.

Room Tip: I would request an upstairs room to take advantage of sea views

We have just returned from a weeks holiday here. We've been before....last time was 6 years ago. We visited 5 yrs running. We made a decision to stop visiting because we weren't seeing any of the rest of the world. We've been to Turkey, Crete, Corfu, all reasonably nice. Then there was Tunisia....don't do it to yourselves! Thomson's admitted the hotel was not upto their normal standard and could only compensate us £90 for all the problems we had. They said if you want more take us to court.
So we decided life is too short for more stress so we went back to Kefalonia.
It was like coming home.
A lot of the staff remembered us and also in the restaurants in Scala they remembered us.
It is just beautiful there and the sea is crystal clear. The people are friendly and the food is wonderful.
We have our happiest and most relaxing holidays here.
You only need to try it once and I'm sure you'll be hooked.

Room Tip: The hotel is not one big bock but small blocks of villa looking rooms set on different levels. There...

Having stayed in a few 5 star hotels and reading reviews on here, we had high expectations for the San Giorgio. At first glance the hotel has a charming reception area with very friendly staff, a nice pool area and pool bar. The room we had however wasn't up the the 4 star rating. I was in need of a refurb to be honest. It looked like the bathroom had been repaired by a home DIY enthusiast. Tiles had been regrowted badly and the general paintwork looked like it had been wiped with a cleaning rag a few times over in the main bed/lounge area. The beds can be best described as a blanket on a concrete slab. I don't mind a firm bed but these were too hard for me. No kettle, iron or even key for the safe was supplied. Only upon asking we was told that the key to the safe was €12, a kettle €2 per day. We didn't ask for an iron as a pattern was emerging. Pool balls had to be hired as well by the hour, as for the football table. Free wifi was sporadic. They did however have a large tv showing the World Cup games.
I'm trying not to dig out the hotel but it came as a disappointment after reading the glowing reviews and seeing its star rating.
If your just going to use the hotel as base camp and explore the island, it will do just fine.
If your planning to spend as much time in one spot, this may not be the hotel for you.
We stayed at the ionian emerald last year and hardly left it was so good.

Pros:
Free mini bus service into Skala
Breakfast selection okay
Nice pool areas

Cons:
Charges for basic amenities usually free in other hotels
Very Uncomfortable beds
Room in need of refurb
Long walk to town

Room Tip: Avoid rooms higher up. Lots of stairs.
