Nice Hotel. Basic but all you need for a beach holiday. Lovely clean pool overlooking the beach. Nice drinks service at the bar. Have to pay extra for air con.
Lovely area where you can walk to lots of great bars and restaurants

First time to Kefalonia and feel really lucky to have booked the Anassa. The hotel is ideally placed opposite the beach and only a short walk into the village for a good range of restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel and accommodation is clean and modern. Beautiful pool looking out to the beach. The Anassa has a wonderful atmosphere on arrival we were greeted by George and Effie and whisked to the bar for a complimentary drink. All the staff were friendly and caring and made us feel like part of the family. Every meal we had was delicious, generous portions and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

I have just returned from the Anassa, (8th Aug), and having never left any hotel reviews I felt it was my duty to about this gem.
After browsing over the past comments left on this website I can see that everybody has covered how wonderfully quaint and delightful this little family run hotel is and I couldn't agree more!!
Every single member of satff I came in contact with during my stay was so helpfull and friendly I felt like I was staying with friends, not in a hotel.
The rooms were cleaned everyday and very very clean as with the tile flooring outside, pool, bar, gardens, staires and anything else that could be reached by a duster, sponge, net or mop such is the pride of George and Effy in their establishment.
The main strip is a pleasnt 5 mins evening stroll away along the beach and has many wonderfull restaurants. Claire (at the Anassa) recomended us her favourite and even rang to book us a table, I cant remember the name but the food was awsome and I'm sure she wouldn't mind doing the same again. Any where you eat you will struggle to have a bad meal!
Do yourself a favour and turn a right out of the hotel and walk 10 mins down the beach to Milos beach bar/restaurant, we went every day, the beach is larger and the food and service by Andreaoss and his staff made our daytimes a joy.

I went on holiday with my family, some friends and my boyfriend to celebrate my parents significant birthdays this year. 6 of us travelled out there to join my parents who had already had a week without us. The welcome by them and the hotel staff was amazing. The rooms were cleaned everyday, spacious with towels, hairdryer, fridge, TV and a patio area. The guys that worked in the bar area were helpful, happy and patient (as we were a large group!) Claire, Hercules and Nic were always accommodating with any request we had. I would highly recommend the hotel. The food in the area was lovely - always too much to chose from and the beach was quiet and not over crowded. Milo's beach bar is highly reccommend for lunch and cocktails.

Room Tip: As I travelled in August I would not suggest the two rooms at the front as although they have the be...

What a great hotel, the owners and all staff are very friendly and welcomming, The rooms are spotless and cleaned daily. The beach with watersports is just across the road and the town centre is 5-10 mins away. The hotel is ideally situated and i cant praise this accomodation highly enough. We had rebooked within a day of returning home and cant wait to be back next year. Skala town has many excellent restaurants and bars to relax in.

Just returned from a week away at the beautiful resort of Scala, stayed at the Anassa and had a warm welcome from the owners and staff.....a welcomed free drink after a long journey, the room was basic but clean, our only concern was exposed wires on the balcony that were accesable to children(however not live),the air conditioning was an extra charge and a must have in greece in July!, this was not mentioned in the thomson brochure.

The atmosphere of the hotel was warm and friendly and with very good evening entertainment abiet limited to three evenings a week, our parents were staying in a different hotel of a higher star rating, but found the atmosphere and staff more welcoming and enjoyable on the evenings.

The location is excellent within 5 minutes walk of the main street;resturaunts;bars etc........and the beach a mere 30 seconds walk or jump!

Good value for money hotel.

What can we add to what most other visitors to the Anassa Hotel have said?!!! We have just returned from a week at the Anassa (we chose this hotel after reading all the wonderful reviews from other Trip Advisor contributors), and to say we have had a fantastic holiday would be an understatement.

We have been to many Greek Islands, and stayed in many hotels/studios, but our stay at the Anassa is the best so far. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom the cleanest we've ever come across! We asked for an upstairs room, so when shown to our ground floor room we were initailly a little disappointed, but once we were in the room, we were more than happy!

Occasionally, we couldn't find a free sunbed by the pool, but with the beach just yards away, and very reasonably priced sunbeds and parasols always available, this was not a problem. You even have the opportunity to order drinks/snacks from the beach to be brought to you - the Anassa think of everything!

We never made breakfast (too many comfortable nights' sleep!), but the food served to us at lunch and tea times was excellent.

The entertainment was also excellent. We don't usually go in to the hotel socialising scene too much, but at the Anassa, it was hard not to! The quiz night and the Sinatra-style entertainer were great fun, but best of all was the barbecue and Greek night. We've experienced lots of these over the years, but this was the best - the food was absolutely terrific, and everyone joined in with the dancing. What a night!

Last, but not least, we have to mention the staff and owners. George and Efi are very warm and friendly owners, the cleaners are all very friendly and so polite, and the bar staff ( Hercules, Claire,Aliki and the other ladies) absolutely wonderful. Always a smile for you, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Customer service at it's best!

Places to eat - the Italian and Chinese were very good, and the Metaxa bar on the beach serves good food.

We're both sure we will be coming back!

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room (101). Didn't notice any noise, room spotless, bathroom modern and ve...
