I cannot fault this hotel. It was the best hotel I have stayed in for the Greek islands and I have been to them about seven times. The beds were the most comfortable of any hotel I have stayed in. The layout was lovely - lots of coloured buildings set amongst courtyards fragrant with jasmine and other flowers. The staff fell over themselves to be helpful and friendly from the manager to the receptionists and waiting staff. We decided we wanted to stay another week but sadly they did not have room, however they found us a suite for two nights and this was pure luxury. It was set on two levels with two bathrooms, a gorgeously comfortable bed and three balcony or patio areas to sit at. Meals were delicious and served in their beautiful restaurant open to the sea. I would definitely go back here. I did not want to leave.

Room Tip: All the rooms appeared to be good. There are shutters to keep out the light and air conditioning is very good so you can keep out any sounds.

Just returned from a fantastic two week break with my wife at the 9 muses.Arrived at the hotel after about an hour transfer time from the airport. We were greeted by a very friendly recepcionist, who gave us our room key and we were shown to our room by another member of staff whilst our luggage was brought to our room by golf buggy,so no carrying involved. We were in room 118 on the lower level just behind the main pool.First impressions of the room were good.Large bed in a comfortable sized room and a small balcony.Good sized wardrobe with plenty of coat hangers and ample cupboard space.Shower cubicle was a bit small but nothing to worry about.Didnt agree with the 18 euros per week charge for the safety deposit box, thought that should be included in the price.
A few options at breakfast from cereals to continental style or a small selection of cooked items, including bacon different style of egg ,beans and mushrooms etc.All self service and in a clean spacious environment.
Main pool area was very clean with very comfortable sun loungers. The no reserving of sun loungers before 09.00a.m was adhered to by guests whilst we were there so if you wanted one you didn't have to go down at dawn and reserve one.
All the staff we had contact with were very friendly, helpful and hard working.Special mention to Athina, who waits on at breakfast and also works at the Vesta pool bar.She seems to be constantly on the go always with a smile on her face. Also Evangelica same jobs. Manolis who works the Vesta bar and Amanda down at the Avra bar.All are a credit to the hotel.Dont be surprised either if you see one of the hotel owners getting stuck in and helping out. They were around quiet a lot during our stay.
The Hotel is well situated for the beach, only across the main road and your on it.Also only a short 10 minute walk into town.Turn right out of the hotel, walk along the beach front up Angina hill and your amongst a good selection of bars and restaurants.

Room Tip: Ithink it would be hard to get a bad room at this hotel.

If you want to stay in a hotel where you are treated like family- this is the one!

We stayed 14 days at 9 Muses in their family room and have never stayed at hotel with such great overall service! EVERYBODY- from the gardner to the room service and restaurant chef to the manager of the hotel and his lovely wife treat you like family.
Every morning we where welcomed in the restaurant for breakfast- which was very good and open until 10.3- great!
By the pool and pool bar the staff was always smiling. Our rooms where cleaned every day and with new towels. Everybody extremely service minded!

The restaurant at the hotel has great food. Both for lunch and dinner.
We ate several times both lunch and dinner. We also arranged a couple of big dinners there as we brought 50 friends with us on holiday. Some stayed in Skala center but came to our hotel just to eat- because of the good food.
The distance to center of Skala is only 300 meters so perfect for an evening walk.

The hotel area feels safe and quiet. And we are looking forward to go back!

Room Tip: All rooms situated nicely.

We were attending a wedding at this hotel and our group of friends, including the Bride & Groom, stayed at this hotel for two weeks. (20th July to 3rd Aug 2014).

Rooms: We were more than happy with our room and it met our needs. Rm 123 was on the ground floor and we sat on our balcony & watched the world go by. This wasn't a private balcony due to the location, but we like to talk to people so it wasn't a problem. There were other rooms with a more private balcony but you would have to ask for that at time of booking. They were cleaned everyday to a good standard and we even got little animals made from the towels, left on our bed. Two of our friends who shared had a much smaller room and there were no other rooms available to move them. They were disappointed because they didn't even get nice towel animals either! The beds and pillows were fantastic; they were really comfortable with crisp clean linen. The cleaning staff were so friendly and had a smile and hello every day. T&C making facilities and fridge in the room. The safe cost 18 Euro each week so we all shared one to keep the cost down.
TIP: Bring your own Tbags or jar of coffee as they don't replenish them after initial brew. Bring your own towel for the pool or beach. There is a linen horse on the balcony to dry them.

Air Con: Is included in the price and ours was fine, in fact we had to turn it up to 19C as it was too cold at night. Our friends didn't all have efficient air con and their rooms were warmer. I believe that the hotel is in the process of refurbishing all the rooms and we were in a refurbed one so the equipment was newer with a digital remote.

Bar: Food & drinks available all day. Athina served us from Bfast till afternoon & Manos until what ever time we went to bed. They worked very hard and always remembered your name & what you drank. Nothing was too much trouble and there were some great cocktails! The prices were cheaper than some of the bars in town too.

Public Areas / Maintenance:
The hotel was spotless in all areas and the staff worked endlessly to keep it that way, some of these staff we didn't see, but many Thanks to you all.

AVRA Restaurant; the staff once again were really helpful and looked after us. We ate there most breakfasts, most lunch times & some dinners. We also had the wedding there and the food has been great every meal. My only complaint is that the portions were so big I've put weight on!

Pool: Very clean and tidy. The beds were very busy so you had to be up early to get one. Although you cant reserve any before 9am (which some people did) you can use them from early. So we would get up by 8am use the beds for an hour then go for breakfast at 9am. The grass area had beds on but we got bit by middgies so it would be good if they paved that area too and more people would use them.

The Beach: Literally opposite the hotel. Free WIFI and 6 Euros per set of sunbeds / parasol, which is reasonable because they are yours for the whole day, wheras the pool has limited spaces. There is a guy who will get you refreshments all day so we had freddo cappuccinos sat on the beach....Bliss!

Location: the hotel is local to all amenities of the town, which is only a short walk away. We hired a car for the day and we do recommend a larger one to cope with the hills.

Local Restaurants: We didn't have a bad meal anywhere to be honest, some foods were not done to all of our tastes but overall we ate well.
The Old Village Restaurant was great. Veto Bar for meeting up with everyone (35 of us) & drinks. The snack cafe near Veto bar has great kebabs for a quick snack on the go. Captains Bar for cocktails. But if your not sure, as you walk past a bar and its busy; if you like the feel of it just go in.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms tend to face a side road. There doesn't tend to be any with sea views due to the location of the blocks. This isn't a typical hotel more like blocks of 4 or 6 rooms. Pool facing rooms face the late bar but doesn't get to hear any noise (according to our friends who were in one) Suites are on two levels & large, very nice.
