We were a group of 7, me and my partner arrived a week later than the rest of our group and everything that we had heard from the prior to our arrival was positive. These apartments and the facilities were fantastic, very large rooms, with an area for cooking, a fridge ( with water in) etc. We found that this was very good value. We had a good room with a balcony overlooking the pool. There is 1 ( maybe 2) rooms which overlook the carpark- Thompson should really state this when people book this OR reduce the rate etc. We would have had this room if we weren't moved, and it would be enough to make some travelers stay somewhere else ( as dramatic as it sounds) but people have saved up all year for their holidays and it would be a bit of a rubbish deal to have one of these rooms. Staff were all friendly the majority of the time- sometimes a bit sharpe but I imagine they spend long, tiring days working which may be the reason for this. Its only a short walk to the beach, the local area is fantastic with a huge choice of bars/restaurants spanning the seafront. I would definitely go back to this area and also this set of apartments.

Stayed at the Crystal Palace recently and loved it.
Our room was huge with 2 balconies, one facing the mountain and one facing the sea, we booked air con as July was scorchio and paid for a safe too. Liked the little kitchenette, but didn't really use it as ate out all the time, made teas and coffees only. But all the appliances were in good condition. Liked the fact they supplied wash up liquid, a teatowel and some sachets of tea, coffee, sugar and milk for a day or two and a bottle of water. (plus a little bowl of sweets too).
The bathroom was unusually big and had a good hot shower. There was even a extendable mirror that was magnified on one side. There was a hairdryer too.
One small downside, no sets of drawers for clothes, but not really a problem, just used our suitcase. Plenty of hangers in wardrobe though.
The owners and staff were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble and they all kept the rooms, bar area and grounds extremely clean and tidy.
Didn't eat here except the BBQ night which was fun. Lots of meat and salads with a glass of wine. Also on the last morning I had a fruit salad with yoghurt and honey which was bigger and tastier than anywhere else in Skala. My hubby bought a bagette from the bar to take to the airport.
The Crystal Palace is about a 20 min walk to the centre of Skala and there are lots of steps on the property.
The reception has an extensive library for used books, magazines and sometimes newspapers which is really handy for avid readers.
There were always sunbeds free around the pool whatever time of day and the pool was really warm.
I would highly recommend these studios - they were the nicer, cleaner and friendlier than anywhere else we have stayed in Greece. Hope to go back one day.

Just returned from a weeks stay at Crystal Palace Hotel. Very clean, smart hotel and pool. Owners nice and very accommodating. Food available, all cooked and presented nicely. We had a 3rd floor room with excellent sea views, air con extra but needed. Free wifi available but only works around pool area. Just 10 minutes walk away down the bamboo path are lots of other bars and restaurants to try too. One thing though, if you have trouble walking don't stay here, there are steps.....lots of them!!

Loved these apartments. As mentioned by others the place is immaculately clean. We were there with our 17 yr old son who made friends on the first day which was great & meant we had an even more chilled holiday as he was having fun with his friends all day. The thing I loved about this place is you could go to the pool any time of day & get sun beds. The food is good - I had the Greek salad nearly every lunchtime which was gorgeous. It is a 5 min walk to the nearest bars & restaurants. The place has a very relaxed vibe & everyone was friendly. We met many people who had been before. The staff are friendly contrary to some comments by others. Bbq night was great fun & the owners got very involved in the entertainment & were all up dancing with Effies 10 yr old son Thanasses even singing a song with the band. My only criticism would be that more storage for clothes is needed in each apartment but this did not bother us greatly.
We would definitely return in the future.

Stayed here for two weeks in July but one week is enough.
Seems to be Thomsons or TUI as there now known by guests only.
Would say that most of the guests are regulars that go back each year.
Mostly Northern Brits choose the Crystal Palace.

A quiet and relaxing complex that sometimes is a bit too quiet
Clean and well kept complex.
About 30 or 40 rooms that are fairly well equipped,
40 euros a week for rental of air conditioning and 20 euros per week for safe in room.
There,s a bar b q every Monday that costs 15 euros per person with a glass of wine to go with it, entertainment includes Greek band and two dancers, That,s about it, cheaper in restaurants outside of the complex if your on a budget and don,t think the band and dancers will be every ones cup of tea.
There is a cut out gravel path at the back of the apartments that leads to the beech about 10 minutes walk,

Staff are not the most happy of people and don,t say much.

All in all not bad but Skala has better to offer which is a beautiful place but as said one week is enough unless you,re getting out and about.
