We stayed in the Playamar hotel from the 13th of October for a week. on approach to the hotel we were suprised at how clean and tidy the reception desk and reception area was. I had been on trip advisor and had read reports and i was dreading going because of this, but to my relief i was so happy witht the friendlyness of the staff that was on.

We were given or room key and shown where to go to, the walk to or room was out the back of the main building and passed the two pools. The building had a lift so we could get are luggage up the stairs. The room was clean it was an appartment so we had a kitchen/livingroom combined bedroom and a bathroom with both shower and bath.

The bedroom:- was 2 single beds pushed together it had a build in wardrope, 2 bedside lockers and a dressing table. In the wardrope there was also a safe.

The bathroom:- clean and tidy had both the use of bath and overbath shower hot water was not a problem. Only real problem was that while in the shower the shower curtain was not long enough so therefore the floor got wet. nothing major!!

The kitchen/living room:- very comfortable living area had a tv but only had 2 english channels. The kitchen area may have been a let down if you were self catering as it only had 2 electric rings, no grill or oven. but plenty of pots pans and cutterly, this room lead out to the balcony where we had a view of the pool and the river.

The room was cleaned every other day, was there was 3 building to this hotel so the rooms were cleaned either monday, wednesday, friday or tuesday, thursday, and saturday. This suited me, if you needed more towels you just had to go to reception and ask.

There was enterniment at the hotel on 3 of the nights we were there, 2 nights there was someone singing (if that what they want to call it) i think the kids enjoyed this more than the adults and on one night they had exocit animlas. We missed this and arrived as they were leaving, if the hotel had a list of the acticities in the room you would no then what was on when

All inculsive:- we went all inclsive at this hotel and im not sure this was the best idea. the food was very very repeative.
breakfast every day was cold meats and cheese, greasy fatty bacon, beans, fried eggs, boiled eggs, selection of bread, corn flakes, sugar puffs, selection of jams. crossants and either chocolate crossant or custard crossant, they had coffee machine and a fruit juice machine although this was very very watered down.
Lunch was lettce, onions, tomatoes, and peppers, then a selection of hot food and rice or chips, and then soup there was a small selection of fruit also
Dinner was the same as lunch!!!
The bar was an out door bar but all inclusive only ran from 10am till 10 pm which was let down, the cocktails were also a let down as they were premade and also waterdown, waterdown so much i couldnt taste the alachol.

There was two pools at the hotel one be side the bar and another up beside the main building. the pool at the bar was freezing, the other one was also cold but it was at least bearable. I dont think this is a problem with the hotel, i think it was more the time of year we came. The sun was on on the water long enough to heat the water. (the sun was on the top pool for a longer period of time than on the bottom pool, therefore it was more bearable).

The resort its self if lovaly we did spend a lot of time in sa coma and there is a market one of the nights down at the far end of sa coma its well worth a walk down to. The beaches are lovaly althought bewear the beach at sillot seemed to be more stoneier as you walked into the water. This was not the case with sa coma, instead it had more seawead.

Room Tip: would not go all inclusive as the food is very repative and if you cant find something you like you will end up eating out, we were lucky we found something we like every day.

just got back today ,stayed in an apartment with my friend ,I was bitten to death by mossies on the first night and had to go to the pharmacy for creams etc, hotel and complex quite shabby and needs a serious deep clean and painting ,the food is appalling!!!,always cold, the same breakfast every day, greasy streaky bacon ,cold beans and cold fried eggs, the lunch and evening meals are virtually the same each night, the dessert every day is cold rice pudding, jelly, and milk pudding, there is fruit if you can get there in time! we noticed some people with armfuls of fruit perched on their tables ready to take out for the day, when it was gone it was gone no more was brought out for anyone else to have, sillot is a very pretty resort with a lovely beach,we went out most days to palma etc on the buses which run frequently,we would not stay at this hotel again, even if it is cheap you expect some standards.

i stayed at the hotel playamar in august 2012 with my 12 year old daughter and her friend my only complaint was lack of air conditioning upon complaining i was informed that lack of air conditioning was informed in ALL sites and brochures BUT was immediately given a fan as 4 people complaining about poor food poor toilet facilities poor room service i can only hazard a guess that they were not staying at the same hotel as myself the rooms were cleaned EVERY DAY the bedding was changed every other day the food was somewhat limited BUT there was variety the staff were polite helpful and courteous in fact the kids loved it so much they insisted i take them back next year 4 2 weeks lol which is what i WILL be doing as an afterthought the beach is literally less than a 3 minute walk from the hotel hope this helps the doubters lol

Room Tip: state that air conditioning is ESSENTIAL

I always try and give the good and bad points for a general balanced view so, here goes. We stayed in the apartments of this hotel and never tried any of the food or drink so cannot comment.
The apartment itself was too be frank awful. The bathroom had a shower which didn't put much water out and not in a showering way, more of a slow tap. This apartment was supposedly able to accommodate 4 people on a self catering basis. The cooker had only 2 electric rings, no grill, oven microwave etc. a sink which just about emptied and 3 pans on the up side there were 4 cups, plates, etc and the fridge was in good working order. The beds were ok and sleep quality was very good considering we overlooked the pool/ bar area. Plenty of storage space. TV. Balcony with very insecure doors, fortunately we were on the 4th floor.
The room was cleaned and fresh towelled every 3 days.
The reception area was welcoming and the staff multilingual.
The pool area and loungers were grotty.
The hotel is set in a very good position only 1 minute from the beach and river. Beware mosquitos take plenty of repellent with you. Sa Coma is 5 minutes walk and is more lively. Cala Millor is a 40 minute walk and worth a visit.
Nice beaches, plenty of places to eat and drink.

Room Tip: Take insect repellent.

The food was atrocious. Streaky bacon and cold fried hard eggs for breakfast. Dinner no better and doesn't cater for veggies. No water, tea or coffee at dinner time. They come round and expect you to pay. No entertainment and drunks banging on doors and shouting in the early hours. Disabled toilet blocked all day and rancid stench. Bitten by mosquitos in hotel room and no tv or kettle in room. They havent entered the 21st century and a lot of guests and staff unfriendly and were like pigs at the trough at mealtimes. At least the weather was good. Avoid hotel at all costs
