Callao Mar

A very well maintained block of apartments in a quiet area. The pool is lovely and not very busy at all, sometimes you can have it all to yourself! It s a great place to just relax. Beach is about a 5 minute walk away, as is the bus station and restaurants. The cleaners come in virtually everyday and just get on with things. The only fault I have with this place, is the internet. You can use their computer if you need too, but at a charge, and sometimes the computer crashes and you lose your money, plus it can be quite expensive if it keeps crashing!!
It has a self contained kitchen area, seperate bathroom with bath/shower head, front room with tv etc with a little patio area. Gorgeous!! Also a bedroom. That has 2 single beds pushed together, so if your wanting a naughty long weekend, BEWARE!!
Make sure if you arrive late at night you have a drink with you, as there won't be anything for you in the apartment until you go shopping.
Also, the coach driver dropped us off at the wrong place, so we spent from 1a.m till 3a.m looking for the place which is really hard to find that time of the morning as it is not lit up nor has it got any signs on the place, and it is on a hill.
If you go into Las Americas or Los Christianos, it takes about 45 minutes on the bus, but it's a great way to see the rest of Tenerife. Don't be tempted to get a taxi as it costs a fortune. Whenever possible always get the bus.
Other than that the place really is away from the typical loud holiday makers. If you expect loud then don't go there!!
One more thing.....
If you have problems walking, I do not recommend this place as it is quite hilly. I have asthma, and I struggled to walk from the beach/shops/restaurants back up to the apartments, especially in that heat too.

Happy holidays.

A lovely block of appartments well maintained being in a quiet residential area in Callao Salvaje with a lovely swimming pool. A place to relax and unwind and watch the evening sun set over the ocean from your terrace.

The rooms are very spacious and a flat screen diigital television is provided which also has the added benefit of being utilised as a radio, remember you have arrived in Spain so do not expect to have familiar channels, bring your own dvd player if that is your requirement.
Hair dryer, iron, kettle and a toaster can also be found stored in the many cupboards in the kitchen/diner area, cutlery, cups, saucers, plates and glasses to be found at the kitchen sink area and along the inner hallway a secure safe in the storage facility can be found with even more storage space in the bedrooms.

Forget about hustle and bussel discos and the like, it is just a serious chill out location. No burger and kebab establishments on your door step, no fizzy beer and loud music blaring, as you are in a residential area. You have the opportunity to stroll down to the village and enjoy cuisine at the many competitive venues which share similar prices and menu with a leisurely stroll back up the hill.
Obtain your water and provisions from the local supermarket under the Tropical Garden Hotel or adventure a little further to the former Netto now a Hiper,Spains fiscal issues have seen the demise of some of the shops/bars in the village but still enough to cater for your requirements as well of the many British Pats still there.

We have stayed at these appartments (booking independently) many times since they opened, never disappointed by the standards of the room or service provided by the staff.
This year the long awaited beach has been constructed and will be open by now.
We noticed that the bus service route has been extended to include passing the end of the avenue a bonus if you wish to utilise the public transport system to venture further afield

A good tip is to catch the bus into Los Christianos enjoy the route and views and the hussle and bussel of Mcdonalds, fizzy beer offers and loud music, it is in abundance there for sure, but get a taxi back it is quicker.

Enjoyed a visit to the newly opened Callao Salvaje Snack Bar in the village an interesting venue, had a lovely Steak Meal in their cooked to our liking by the Spanish Chef with fried onions, mushrooms salad and home made chips, with a bottle of house wine just a little over 20 euros for the two of us.

Was also nice to sit on their sunny terrace in the morning enjoying a good cup of coffee or brunch snack and enjoying a Alhambra draught beer and good chilled rose wine at mid day.

Room Tip: Two floors to choose from no bad rooms in my opinion. Taxi from the airport takes about 20 minutes...
