“Disappointing”

We had booked Violet Villa (https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/VacationRentalReview-g664636-d8753474-Luxurious_2_bedroom_Violet_Villa_in_Callao_Salvaje-Callao_Salvaje_Adeje_Tenerife_Canar.html The manager has now change the price on this propert from £189 to £76) for our Christmas & New year Holiday 2017/18 but was instead dropped of at this property.

The property manager asked us if we wanted the good or the bad news first. On holiday one dosen’t want any bad news! The bad news was that we could not have the Villa vi had booked and paid for, but that we could have Bella Villa instead. The property Manager said this was a more expensive Villa than the one we had paid for a statement that was not correct (Trip Advisor will have track record of the adverts it has had on its platform and can confirm this).

The good news was the view from the Villa!

We had never been to Tenerife before and one can hardly start rearranging accommodations at arriver at 6:30 pm, so we had to take the rough with the smooth.

First the positives for this property:

It HAS a stunning view over the sea and the neighbouring island. We truly enjoyed the sunsets every evening
It has a heated pool, something I took great advantage of (not my wife as she is not a swimmer)
It is perfectly located with a 3 minutes walk downhill ( 6-7 mins back up!) to the nearest supermarket and restaurants.

The negatives:

It has no bathtub. This is a must from my wife’s point of view and a huge disappointment
The bedding was tacky and old and should be replaced with good quality bedlinen.
The towels were threadbare and was long past their used by date.
The crockery was hit and miss (it had only 2 egg cups as an example and if you want to stay there with 4 or more people thats a bit too little)
It only has a galley kitchen. As we are fond of cooking this is a big downside
The toilet seat in one of the toilets was broken and has been for a long while. This WAS fixed 6 days after arrival.
The toaster was caput and the main fuse tripped if one tried to use it
The electric hob only had 3 working rings
The pans were of sub standard quality for an electric cooker (as the heat is transferred through direct contact the pans has to be flatt some of them were not and therefor of little use)
No English Channels on the TV
No information pack.

On balance we had a nice stay in the Villa and a good holiday, but this Villa is not worth the high price of the one we did pay for. If you are not too much into cooking and dont mind low standard bedding it is a Villa well worth its price, but not more. Based on our experience I would be weary about renting anything from this manager.

Thank you very much for taking time and sharing your concerns regarding your stay in my property.
I am so sorry to hear NOW you feel a bit unsatisfied with the Villa you stayed in, and it is quite surprising for me since YOU WROTE THIS COMPLAINT 20 DAYS AFTER YOU STAYED IN THE VILLA!!! IN 20 (TWENTY!!!) DAYS YOU NEVER INFORMED ME, MY COLLEAGUES OR THIS PLATFROM THAT SOMETHING WAS GOING WRONG, AND YOU NEVER ASKED FOR ANYTHING TO BE DONE, CHANGED OR IMPROVED. YOU WAS ABSOLUTELY HAPPY, but looks like now you decided to write a different story, and I realy feel sorry for that...
So... will try to answer your suggestions point by point, just in order to not forget something:
1. It´s a pity you didn´t say us right there you didn´t like the Villa, as a 2-bedroom Villa was available for you with no problems whats so ever, so we could´ve move you straight away if you wanted it, but as you said me and I remember it very well, you were absolutely happy and satisfied with upgrade to 3-bedroom Villa, and ESPECIALLY WITH A FACT YOU HAD A HEATED POOL instead of normal one, and HUGE TERRACE WITH OCEAN VIEWS WHICH YOU SAID WERE UNBELIEVABLE. So since you were absolutely happy to stay in that Villa, I didn´t feel right and corect to insist and/or force you moving you to your originally booked one, as you was not really desiring to do so...

My colleagues were contacting you several times during your stay, and they reported me you were absolutely happy and really satisfied with the Villa and it´s facilities.
I neither received any reports or requests from you regarding changing the Villa or anything missing or something extra that you might have needed, since I have asked you when checking you in to write me anything else you might need, or if there is something else we can do for you. Even the guys that were doing your transfers to the airport mentioned you were absolytely happy and kept talking about a wonderful holiday you had with us. WE HAVE ARRANGED THIS AS PER YOUR REQUEST, WHEN AS YOU KNOW YOU COULDN´T SORT IT YOURSELF.
The rent-a-car manager where we managed to find you a rental car also infomed me you were very very happy with the Villa and services provided to you during your stay. WE HAVE ARRANGED THIS ALSO AS PER YOUR REQUEST, WHEN AS YOU KNOW YOU COULDN´T SORT IT YOURSELF, AND THE WERE NO CARS AVAILABLE AT ALL IN THIS SEASON.
WE ALSO ARRANGED A CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR WELCOME PACK FOR YOU, WITH GROCERIES, CHAMPÀIGNE, SWEETS, ETC., I FEEL SORRY TO REMIND YOU THAT, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE YOUR NEW STORY OMITS AND FORGETS ABOUT ALL THE THINGS WE HAVE DONE FOR YOU - FREE OF CHARGE - AS A GESTURE OF GOOD WILL AND AS PER CHRISTMAS DATES.

2. I am not sure if I understand correctly what a "bathtub" is, but if you talk about baths in the bathrooms - we have baths in all our Villas. But if you talk about kind of hot-tube like jacuzzis, we have it in the nearby hotel for our guests´ use, as well as sauna, gym, horse-riding, ping-pong table, golf, paddle-tennis, tennis courts, game rooms, etc., and other amenities, which are mentioned in the description of all our Villas. As I am sure you understand all these things are not located inside the Villas :), but onsite in the territory of the Hotel Complex. WE NEVER HAD THESE FACILITIES INSIDE ANY OF MY VILLAS. :)
Actually the Sport & Spa-facilities of the Hotel are mentioned in the main description of the Villas:
"About 10 minutes walk to an exclusive Grand Hotel Callao, where all the guests are welcome, which is settled in this exclusive area of the south of the island, with it's typical Canarian architecture, surrounded by 54,000m2 of tropical gardens and has fantastic views over the Atlantic Ocean. You can enjoy the fantastic sports facilities: golf pitch & putt ( 9 holes), Golf school for different levels, 3 tennis courts, 3 paddle courts, 1 squash court, and multisport gym located at Spa centre.
You can find peace and harmony there with the best sports facilities and new modern Spa Center, set in Mayan culture, designed for total comfort and relaxation. It is also the ideal venue for any event making this special moment and unforgettable.".

3. The major European channels were and are available through the Sat-TV, which you definitely had in your Villa, and through an Internet Multimedia-Router for LIVE ONLINE-TV as well, which also was available for you in the Villa. British based PPV channels were NEVER mentioned in my adverts for any of my Villas.

4. Regarding the prices - I am very sorry, but you are not right at all:
The "BASE rates" for the Villas (rates which are not included in the specific "SEASONAL rates" like Christmas-New Year, Half Terms, August, Easter, Carnival, etc) are near the same, and "STARTING FROM" 75 or 76 GBP per night, and these rates are only available for long terms rentals (as of 90 days and more) in low seasons, which definitely not include Christmas and New Year periods. Actually BASE rate for weekly rentals is 1399GBP for 2-bed Villa, and 1998GBP for 3-bed Villa.

The 3-bedroom Villa you´ve been UPGRADED to is MUCH more expensive of which I have informed you when checking you in, and I also said that we will cover all the difference ourselves and this UPGRADE will NOT cost you any extra money, and I am sure you could´ve check that weekly prices for all Villas are quite different and 3-bedroom Villa is CONSIDERABLY more expensive, especially in high seasons.
For example for Christmas 2018 and next New Year - seasonal rates which we have opened for Booking recently the prices for these Villas are as follows:
2-bedroom Villa - 2499GBP per week, or 4999GBP for 14 nights - which is near the same what you have paid.
3-bedroom Villa - 2799GBP per week, or 5599GBP for 14 nights - which is much that what you have paid.
There is NO one week or any season in 2018 or 2019, where 2-bedroom Villa is more expensive then a 3-bedroom Villa, and I am sure at this point you can check it up yourself.
And it is normal and logical situation, as it is MUCH bigger, it has heated pool instead of unheated one, Ocean and water views instead of road views, etc.
The rest of the things (like beddings, crockery, toaster, etc) are probably not even worth to be commented, as unfortunately I do not think you are completely honest, as YOU NEVER MENTIONED OR ASKED ABOUT THESE IN 20 DAYS, NEITHER DURING YOUR STAY (!!!). You have threatened me to leave a horrible review against my properties if you won´t get all your money back (!!!???)... Well you had you revenge... And I feel very sorry for that... I still believe you are not right, and I сеrtаinly do not like to be blасКМаilеd... so... I know where all these "dissapointments" are coming from. :)
Hope this information answers and resolves your concerns and also will give some idea about this guest to other owners and hosts.
Saying so, to fnish on a good not, I still wanted to:
a) say you thank you very much for staying with us, and I hope you enjoyed your Holiday as you and your wife said us when leaving from the property (!!!).
b) for leaving the property in a clean and organized state, which is much appreciated.
c) Best wishes of a Happy New Year, and good luck to you and ALL your family and friends!!!
