“A sparkling diamond in the rough of ibiza hotels.”

Eight of us went to Ibiza for a post wedding celebration. We had heard that Es Vive was a party hotel and so decided to stay there only 3 nights instead of for the full week ...........well we wished we had stayed. The rooms are clean and modern and the sound proofed bar on the ground floor is a the best place to carry on partying after the clubs (instead of cramming into someone’s bedroom)........and those that want to go to bed can do so in peace and quiet without being disturbed. This place is a gem. No hotel in and around the action is cheap or has all the amenities but at least this one offers you a decent service with really friendly and helpful staff. My friends also enjoyed their spa treatments and the pool is sufficient for a dip if you cant get to a beach. We will definitely be back next year (or again at the end of the season if the lure of Ibiza becomes too much!!)

Room Tip: If there is a group of you book triple rooms or suites.

Positives - the reception staff and half of the bar staff are amazing and very helpful. The pool area is really nice and clean. The hotel is quiet providing you are second floor or above and not over the bar that stays open until 8am. The sound proofing and double glazing meant that I could sleep fairly well.

Negatives - The rooms are fairly small. Some of the bar staff were a little surly and service can be slow at times.

Room Tip: You can borrow towels for the pool and beach from reception.

We were informed this was a loud, noisy hotel with unfriendly staff - we found the opposite - very good service and friendly staff - we arrived at 10 am and were given a room with a lovely sea view rather than having to wait until the normal check in.

having been a regular at Es Vive for several years it was refreshing to come back for the opening of Space and see that the hotel has has had a make over....gone are the deep dark woods of the pool area and in its place is a fresh, clean modern look....the Experience bar (where I have had some of my least memorable nights, purely because at 8 in the morning I was so far gone that I cant remember) has has an upgrade courtesy of Heineken which includes a thumping new sound system, new bar and dj booth, great looking girls serving the cocktails and the famous "I cant leave,1 more song please atmosphere"
I also noted that the rooms have had some tlc as well, I always stay in 215 or 315 purely because they were the most spacious (second to the suites) and it was fantastic to find that finally all the windows in the hotel have been replaced with double glazed units...about time!
The competition has been getting its act together in Ibiza but I have to say that this hotel yet again is managing to second guess the market and it still delivers for me time and again....I cant wait to see the changes next summer that are in the pipeline this winter...well done to the Es Vive team.

Room Tip: rates drop if your stay is 4 days or more

Having read the other reviews, the only thing which allows me to conclude we actually stayed in the same hotel as everyone else is the praise for the reception staff. They were very helpful and had a great attitude (and unlike 1 other reviewer were delighted to carry the ironing board up to the third floor!). Other than that....

- Rooms average: shower horrible (with a shower curtain)
- Pool terrible unless you like shade by 6pm and being stared at by other guests but essentially ignored by the poolside "service"
- Breakfast a tragic attempt at continental cool (although to be fair to Es Vive, people dont stay here for the breakast - but if you're going to do something, do it right)
- We returned early from Pacha (at 4) expecting to maybe enjoy the much vaunted bar/pool experience and it was a ghost town
- Unfortunately, the other guests seemed a rather tragic group of people-watchers and wannabes, although this comment is probably more a reflection on me getting old and grumpy

We chose Es Vive as a base for 1 night to go clubbing, thinking it would be a good pre-club/post-club option but it disappointed and we felt was a particularly low-grade attempt to copy a Miami hotel. I guess standards in ibiza are generally lower but overall I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone who has experience of staying in decent/good hotels elsewhere.

Room Tip: Book in to El Hotel (Pacha)

My Boyfriend and I visitied this hotel for 10 days in June. We were searcing for a holiday where we could both relax and party. Es Vive was amazing!!! The pool area was beautiful - small but very cute. The sun loungers were very confortable and during the day, a DJ played relaxing music so you don't even need to bring your Ipod. At the weekend the hotel tends to get busier which only adds to the atmosphere and on Sundays they have a lovely BBQ! The food at the pool area was also very nice and reasonably priced.
The Rooms were lovely! We booked a Standard Double and this was more than adaquate. The beds were comfortable and the Bathrooms had Elemis products. Our room also had a balcony overlooking the pool area! yes- the room was a bit on the smaller side but you don't go to Ibiza to sit in a hotel Room haha!
The Staff at the hotel were amazing! They were all so friendly and helpful...in Particular Sarah who works at the reception. She made many recomendations for lovely places to eat such as the cool Bambuddah Grove and for a more traditional meal, La Badega in Ibiza Town.
This hotel enables you to relax or party! IT also has a really cool bar that is open until 6am so its great if you are looking for somewhere to go after the clubs! Its also soundproof and the staff there are great!!
We had the best time ever and would definately recommend this hotel to couples or groups looking for a great time! I hope that we can return next year. Missing it already.

Some people might think this hotel embodies balearic chic. And well, on some levels it is cool, but mainly its a a bit naff, in a David Guetta video kind of way. Wags on the sunloungers, wide boys having a beer by the pool and a DJ spinning ibizan chillout music throughout the day.
Location wise its just a 15 minute walk to the port and a stones throw from the beach, And even though the beach isnt the best one in ibiza, its convenient for when you cant face the mission of trekking to the nicer spots on the island.
Everyone who works in the hotel is lovely and helpful and super welcoming.
Price wise, its a little pricier compared to the other places in the area, but its much nicer.
All this totted up, we absolutely LOVED staying here, and I would definitely go back. It was a laugh a minute. After all, Ibiza is totally about just having fun, and not taking yourself too seriously.
