“Very good!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2013

This hotel is very well located aside the Port and close to the Old City, a short walk from bus station to the main beaches and cities of Ibiza. There's a very good restaurant at the hostel, good breakfeast available for a cheap price, staff was friendly, the clean and bathroom was clean and cozy, there was a small balcony, not very big, but for two was perfect! I only would not advise it for who wants to sleep early (before 1 am) because it's quite noisy, a lot of bars close!

Room Tip: If you want to sleep early try a room with view to the port, it can be less noisy!

If location is everything then this hotel truly has it all. In the heart of the city yet rooms on the front of the hotel are blissfully quiet and the added bonus of a spectacular harbour view! Simple yet VERY efficient rooms and one of the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever had the pleasure of sleeping in! This hotel is a keeper!

We stayed the first week in May - not for clubbing - just for a little sunshine break. The staff were fantastic, really lovely and helpful. The room we stayed in was really small but very clean although the glass shower door had a crack in it. As per a previous review the water pipes do seem to run through the centre of the hostal - didn't particularly bother me but you could hear easily when anyone had a shower etc. Location fantastic - we booked a room overlooking the harbour. Had no problems with the ferries coming in at night - i heard them but didn't bother me. It's very basic - we didn't try the restauarant below but it looked nice enough. For me and my partner it was fine - for anyone who needs total peace and quiet to sleep find somewhere else. Could hear music from the bar/restaurant downstairs so it wouldn't be to everyones taste. Only one issue really was i booked a room with a balcony - well it did have a balcony but not what I'd class a balcony - we could both stand on it at the same time but there wasn't enough room for any more than one chair. Would i stay there again - yes, cheap and cheerful!

Well, first of all, we loved La Marina. Why? Because we wanted to party, be loud and wild. What else would you come to Ibiza town for? If you just want to chill by the beach, I suggest you get a place at San Antonio, Formentera, or one of the smaller islands....they are very cool too.

Having said that, we also loved our room. It was a double room with a port facing balcony at La Marina building itself. Yes, it's small and basic but very aesthetically done up - the wall colours, mirrors give you the beachy, relaxed feel that you expect out of a place like Ibiza. The hostal is bang in center of the town with the best restaurants and bars around it. You can take a day trip to the beach, come back at around 10pm, shower and step out for dinner at 11pm - the atmosphere is fantastic. Pre-parties start around 10pm and clubs open at around 12am so it's perfect.

The service is efficient and good. We met Mar and Andreas at the reception area and they were always very helpful, giving us tips on what to see and where to go. Your room gets cleaned everyday, but you have to make sure to put the cleaning tag outside the door. We were very happy with the cleanliness of the room. The view from the balcony is beautiful, but you have to be lucky to get such a room - we insisted at the time of our reservation to get such a room and we got it.

I've stayed at many nice hotels, but my experience at La Marina has been so good that I really don't mind trying other hostels now (however, I do realize that it's much better than other hostels and just fit our mindset at Ibiza). We would definitely stay there again and look forward to it. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to party and go wild at Ibiza!

Room Tip: Choose a room with a port facing balcony

Hostel is in a tourist square of restaurants so bring earplugs if you intend to catch a nap after the beach and before clubbing. There are plenty of normal places to stay in town outside of this tourist port square. This hotel is still 12 euros taxi away from pacha so its not close to clubs either or the beach for that matter The place is also a hike up the stairs and carrying luggage is a big tough but we managed. Very clean and functional room, no complaints there and very honest cleaning staff i had euros laying around on floor which they placed on desk.

There are two very nice hostels right on the lovely salinas beach i would recommend, hosetl pepito and hostel mar y sol. You are right on beautifully quite state park beach and still accessible to clubs.

Have just left Hostal La Marina after 3 nights in Ibiza, and we really enjoyed our stay. It was a very basic room, but did the job. We had a twin room facing out to the busy nightlife but it never kept us awake, as we were always very tired and ready for bed. Its quite nice to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine and watch the world go by... The staff were helpful and for 100 euros a night I thought it was good value as I really liked staying n Ibiza town near the port. Most importantly the AC worked well, and we had a decent wifi connection. The cleaners brought fresh towels. Only thing that would have made it better would have been a basic complimentary brekkie thrown in for the price! Overall, I would recommend it.

I stayed in the Aduana building of the Hotel (there are a few different buildings). The price was great, lowest I was able to find in Ibiza Town. Good communication when booking, I felt comfortable making the deposit online. Yes, it is noisy but we were out most of the night dancing anyway. You get some quiet between 6am and about noon for sleeping. Located near all the busses to the beach and clubs. Great air conditioning (which is rare in Europe), fridge in room, clean, nice size even for 3 people. Highly recommended if you are there to party (but not for a romantic vacation or trip with children)!!!
