“Asked to leave due to overbooking”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

I checked into Ibiza Grand Hotel as a family of 2 adults and 3 young children. I had booked their top villa at EUR 4,200 per night.

Everything started well until 11am on our second day we were told the villa had been double booked and we had to check out by 6pm.

I was not best pleased and despite multiple phone calls to the hotel managers, we discovered that the guests arriving were friends of the hotel owner.

After 2 hours, we couldn't wait any longer and I had American Express arrange an alternative hotel in the nearest 5* hotel (Mallorca) and a private jet to get us there.

The Ibiza Gran did eventually call back and say we could stay but frankly I was not prepared to give them nearly EUR 20,000 for a 4 night stay after the stress they had put me through.

Totally unacceptable, especially as they would not refund the first night as a gesture of goodwill.

Nice hotel but if I would never go back after this chaos, aggravation and disorganisation.

My husband and I could not believe how perfect this hotel is. The architecture of the rooms is excellent and extremely practical, with everything exactly in the right spot and lots of room for your belongings.
The breakfast buffet is top notch. Every day they feature a surprise such as dark chocolate, or champagne, or oysters...
Service is friendly and outstanding 100% of the time! The staff is constantly courteous and helpful, making one really feel at home.
The hotel has a gorgeous collection of sculptures, well worth visiting one by one.
Furthermore, my husband and I witnessed something that I have never seen before: a Russian guest lost a chain with a large diamond on it. She was frantically looking for it in her room. It was found by a staff member in the pool area and promptly returned to her! Pretty amazing!
We'd like to thank their wonderful concierge Montse, who made our stay extra special!!

We stayed at this hotel for a long week end to attend a friend's wedding. The location is great, near the marina, restaurants and clubs. Bedroom is a bit weird though, with wooden floors, a bath tub in the middle of the room, a huge terrace you but with no privacy. The breakfast buffet is trully amazing, do not miss it!!! Only issue with the hotel is that the rooms are not really clean, the bath tub was dirty, so were the floors. Quite disappointing. But the staff is very nice and helpful.

Outstanding hotel. Rooms large with everything you could possibly need, including a jacuzzi bath!
Fantastic buffet breakfast that is not to be missed- an added bonus is that the breakfast goes on until 11:30am.
The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk into the old town. The marina with classy restaurants and bars is situated across the road from the hotel.
the hotel is large with a minimalist style and large open areas; my husband felt that certain areas lacked ambience, particularly the Gaia bar. We didn't visit the casino. The gym and spa were top class.
Overall, I'd happily stay here again.

The staff make this place fantastic; great hotel very big and not to our usual taste. We choose this for the location; which was a 10 minute walk into Ibiza town. Great Breakfasts and pool meals was experience; lovely pool side for luxury bathing. Two small points the adult pool was not open; we should have been informed of this at the time of booking as this was a main reason we picked this hotel and the other point a five star hotel not refreshing the supply of bottled water daily is unacceptable
