“Enjoyable Holiday”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

Just got back from here stayed a week, lovely place situated right on a sandy beach, clear shallow waters safe for children. Staff very friendly and food was fine. There are activities throughout the day and evening Entertainment was good. Location a bit isolated but you can walk to St Georges and get a bus into Corfu Town which is a lovely place to visit. Just be careful to lock your valuables in the safe, as when we were there the people in our block on the ground floor got burgled during the night :-( apparently the Albanians target apartments during the day as well, this is when they know people are out so make sure patio doors are locked probably. I would return as this is a lovely resort.

Room Tip: Higher floor for security reasons.

Paid a fortune to stay in this family resort, the food was slop that was reheated from the day before and served with another sauce, ended up paying a fortune to eat out every day, it was unbearable. The resort itself is very beautiful, shame that it's catered for Germans only! British are the minority who are made to feel unwelcome, how it is classed as a family resort is beyond me! God help you if your 1 year old makes a noise of any kind! The filthy looks and ignorant comments from the other guests make you feel uncomfortable ! The bar staff are unfriendly which might be because they work from morning til night, and apply their own rules to suit themselves, if your face doesn't fit ( British) then the 2 drink rule applies to you only! As for entertainment what a joke! Apart from the pool which entertained the kids then you're out of luck! I don't class water gym( in a pool too deep fora Child to stand in) Zumba, bingo and darts as child friendly entertainment. No one is helpful in the slightest, there's no welcome pack, no one tells you there is a strip of bars outside the resort, transport into the city is scarce unless you walk a km back to the resort, this place is out in the middle of nowhere!
My bed sheets and towels rarely changed. No snacks are free except for hotdogs in stale buns, limited variety of drinks, basically you pay all inclusive for slop you wouldn't feed pigs and drinks that have wasps in the bottles!
The Greek people are friendly which is the only bonus...... If you're British then don't waste your money you're not welcome here !!

I stayed with my family for 10 days here. The food they serve is absolutely disgraceful. The restaurant is big, noisy, smell awful and food presented in a disgusting way. A lot of people where disappointed during our stay and we tried to get some compensation which was impossible. It ended up costing us at least € 600 extra for eating in other redtaurants.

The elevator in our building did not work for several days so we had to carry our buggy and baby up and down the stairs. When asking when they would fix this we got no answer.

This is NOT a four star hotel!

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

We stayed here for 11 nights at the end of July (2 adults & 2 children).

Accommodation

We stayed in room 103, block 1. A family room. We found the accommodation very clean, the air con was great. We were very happy with the location as we were very close to kids pool, supermarket and reception and it was a quiet spot. The beds were very comfy but the pillows were shocking!! I asked for more and the ones given by the maid were even lumpier! If like me you crave a cuppa as soon as you wake pack a travel kettle with a couple of cups and spoon as nothing is provided.

Food

As you would expect from all inclusive however it lacked on quality. After a few days we were a bit bored. On our 3rd day my husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. I had advised the hotel of this before we arrived and received a gushing email saying we would be met by their guest services manager on arrival to discuss our "surprise"! This didn't happen. The only surprise we received on our anniversary was my husband having severe sickness and diarrhea !! Obviously we have no proof and can't be 100% sure but we strongly believe it was caused by a sausage dish he had at lunch time. Therefore, from this point onwards we were nervous about what we ate. However, I did not encounter anyone else having any trouble with food so maybe he was just very unlucky. We ate out once or twice. We found the panorama restaurant, just a short walk along the beach, fantastic.

Drinks

We had no problems with drinks. Plenty of cocktails on offer on AI too. I fell in love with the Cherry Blossom! Very generous on measures of spirits. The pool bars serve drinks in plastic cups which I know many people complain about but I'd rather this than my children's feet being cut by splinters of broken glass.

Entertainment

Animation team were great! Worked their socks off for kids and adults. Our kids especially loved Isabella and Billy the lifeguard. I personally loved the Motown night. We all really enjoyed the Beatles Tribute and the African night.

Pools

We only used one of the pools as it had 4 great waterslides and that's all the kids wanted to do. Very clean in the water and poolside. Very annoying that people would reserve sun beds as early as 8 in the morning and not turn up to use them till later in the day. Although we didn't want to do it we were forced to get up early and reserve otherwise come 9am we would not get anything. It's not the sort of thing we want to be drawn into but you have no choice as it's not being stopped by staff.

Beach

Gorgeous! The sea was wonderful. Nice and shallow for the kids too. We went a little towards the right on the beach as there were no rocks there which made it much more child friendly.

All in all this is a hotel for families, the grounds are beautiful and clean and with a bit of work could be 4 star.

Tips

If you have kids take some DVDs as family rooms have DVD players and the only English Channel is news.

Mosquitos are everywhere in the evenings. If you are prone to being bit take some very good repellent containing Deet. We used this every night and did not get bit once.

Room Tip: We stayed in block 1 and found it a good location for families as quiet and close to kids amenities.

We ve just had a fantastic week here. The key strength of this resort is the staff , they were consistently friendly and helpful. The animation team are great , really energetic and they go out of their way to make sure everyone has a good time .

Our rooms were spacious and clean , great air conditioning that made a difference in the high temperatures .

The food was good, as a vegetarian some nights were better than others but my husband enjoyed every night. Despite being there peak season there was always a seat and plenty of food and drink .

The beach was lovely with plenty of water sports . We only took one trip out to corfu town on the bus that goes from the hotel each day , worth a visit ,

There is free wi fi but only in public areas , not rooms .

Being a travel agent I am fully aware of what is expected from a 4* property. I had booked my trip using flights with easyjet, transfers from hays travel and accommodation through hays travel. This saved me no end of money rather than paying the package prices.
Upon arrival at the resort we were greeted at reception who sent us for lunch as it was closing shortly. Once we ate we headed back to reception and with a very easy check in we went to our rooms. We had booked a 1 bedroomed apartment, which had 1 bedroom with 2 double beds in and then a lounge area with 2 single beds, they had cushions on as though they were sofas but they were bed matresses. We had a room overlooking the childrens play area. It was lovely and clean nice and spacey. We headed to one of the pools for some late sunbathing, there were plenty of sunbeds throughout the resort. no getting up at some unearthly hour, although I would say they are all taken by 10am. The 4 pools were all nice and clean with plenty of parasols. the busy pool had some slides for younger guests and a baby pool and 2 other good sized pools. We went to the beach which is lovely and sandy, there are a lot of large stones/pebbles to go into the sea so be careful but they have cleaned an area to the left of the complex so you can walk straight out into the sea. Beautiful clear water. Again loads of sunbeds and parasols on the beach. The food was plentiful, the main restaurant was a bit of a cattle market, so you need to pick a time, we went at 7pm and it wasn't busy but within an hour or so it was very busy. The Olive tree restaurant behind the main restaurant was a lot calmer, it didn't have the vast range of food like the main rest, but it was adequate. The food was ample and everynight we were well fed. It did become a bit samey after the first week but it was fine. free ice cream all day, help yourself and it's proper ice cream, pistachio flavour is brilliant!.
The main excellent factor was the entertainments team. Everyday they would come and see you, interact with the kids, there are boards everywhere that tell you what is going on. Samantha was amazing and a great member of the team. She would encourage the children to join in and made them feel very welcome. Thank you sooooo much Samantha. A short walk from the resort is the small village of agios georgious with its small tavernas and shops. a nice pleasant walk. All in all it was an excellent holiday.
My only negative, if at all, is that the grounds need tidying up. It did not affect our holiday at all but I noticed around the pools the dirt in the grates and the grass/plants could do with a spruce up. The staff are out there everyday doing their upmost to ensure it's maintained and they should be congratulated on that.
some pointers:
1) for breakfast, go to the Olive tree, you can get hot fried eggs, as they tend to be cold in the main restaurant
2) eat inside, it's nice on the terrace but there are a lot of wasps
3) definitely go out on a banana boat, it was absolutely amazing, barter the price.
4) if you want to play tennis, go first thing in the morning or late in the evening, it gets very hot otherwise.
5) the creperie costs 1 euro per crepe but they are delicious.
6) walk to the tavernas in the town or the minimarket as these are far cheaper than the one at the resort.

We will definitely go back.

Room Tip: all rooms are great.

We stayed from the 8th to 15th August. We travelled as a large family group of eleven with youngest 16 years and oldest in their eighties. The airport is small which we exited quickly and efficiently. The transfer was just under an hour and the hotel reception staff were extremely efficient and spoke very good English so smooth check in, we even had a ride on the in-house buggy which took us and our suitcases straight to our rooms!
The rooms were clean and functional and had relatively good views, with efficient air con and fridge they were fit for purpose. There are three pools on site and we opted for the relaxation pool and easily got enough sun beds for our group although we did put towels down to be sure. Although a big site there didn't seem to be any overcrowding and the poolside was spacious and well laid out - ideal for us. The beach is just outside the hotel (it is a public beach) and you can hire two sun beds and an umbrella for six euros. The sea was a bit colder than I was anticpating but still worth a swim! We hired four paddle boards for 13 euros each for an hour which was alot of fun! It was hot, not as hot as Turkey.
The animation team worked really hard and even joked with us about our 'maybe tomorrow' excuse every time! Stefan was one was one of the best memebers of an animation we have seen and the manners shown by the whole team were exceptional! Their evening shows were very entertaining. Drinks were usual for all inclusive but the all inclusive shut at 11pm then you had to pay but that didn't bother us too much- as staying up too late drinking would just ruin your next day!. There are a few shops and restaurants to the left of the hotel but not that great and you're an hour from Corfu Town and Thomson tours were expensive so we didn't go on any.
The restaurants were very good and we could always get seats for all 11 of us to sit together even in peak times. Food was varied and good but the routine could become monotonous so I can understand why people may complain but it's the same in most all inclusive hotels so nothing out of the ordinary. We had a celiac in our party and they really helped her find the right foods so she was very happy! We did the 'a la carte' one night and that was very good with excellent food and service certainly worth doing.
The on site doctor was very good and dealt with our daughter's perforated ear very professional - but be aware they will charge for their service! Make sure you have reputable travel insurance!
Dawn the executive manager, was extremely helpful and if we had any problems she would sort it out, she was extremely professional and very caring!
All in all a very good holiday for all in our party.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the mountain views- we did as it was only a little bit extra and was well worth it...
