This is a fairly small family-run establishment set in a quiet but very scenic part of Corfu. The Kourkoulos family (Dina, Dimitri, Spiros and Anastasia) run a very well maintained complex where it is obvious they take great pride in their hotel and re-invest in continuously improving it - which is refreshing these days. From getting off the coach to getting back on a week later they and all their staff from waiters to cleaners could not have been more welcoming, hard-working and accommodating to make our holiday as enjoyable as possible. It is also refreshing that such things as room safes, air-conditioning and WiFi (reception area only) are included in the price - a rarity nowadays!

The in-house Restaurant food was good quality and value for money with a broad selection of local and international dishes available. Entertainment was good with something on most nights (Karaoke, Greek Night, Quiz etc) - more enjoyable than we have experienced in many so-called 4* Hotels.

If you are looking for a laid-back relaxing break at a small, clean, well-maintained and very friendly hotel, I have experienced few places around the world that would beat the Costas Golden Beach in Corfu. Thanks to everyone at the Hotel for making our holiday that much more memorable and we definitely plan to go back!

We also have to mention the Thomson Rep – Karen. By far the best holiday Rep we have experienced in many years of holidaying. The arrival briefing was very entertaining and it was the first time we had a (very useful) departure brief as well. She was also integral to the success of much of the evening entertainment in the Hotel, despite not being based there. Many thanks Karen and hope to see you again when we return!

Just returned from two very pleasant weeks in the hotel. Thank you again to all the family and staff, for providing us with a perfect break. A special thank you, too, for Karen, the intrepid Thomson rep whose enthusiasm, helpfulness, fun and sheer, non-stop hard graft are a miracle to behold. Not forgetting the lovely cleaners, who have a lot to do and do it to perfection. The entire experience was flawless. We hope your success continues. Brian and Natasha.

Went for the 7th time to this marvellous hotel which gets better everytime. The Kourkoulos family are the most considerate people who go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome (it doesn't matter if it's your first trip or your uympteenth!)There have been improvements to the hotel each year we have visited-always for the better. This year the bathrooms were updated which was a major task due to all the pipework but the hard work was worth it as they are truly luxurious. The resort itself is quiet and totally relaxing which is how we like it.The food is excellent in the hotel and the family work hard to entertain along with karen the rep who does an excellent job.Hats off to the Kourkoulos family and all the staff for their hard work

Room Tip: Sea view a must

Stayed for a week in August .Loved the journey from the airport especially the last part on the mini bus.As soon as we arrived we were greeted as old friends. We felt really comfortable in the hotel and we have never had a comfortable bed on holiday before.Nothing was too much trouble for the family and they were really concerned when they thought anything was wrong. We ate in the hotel every day and the food was very good .I had never eaten mousakka before but now i m a big fan.Every one of the staff in the hotel are to be commended for their attention to the holidaymakers. We both like football and we were able to watch matches in the hotel while we were there. We normally have to find a bar.We have booked 11 days for next year and we have never gone back to the same hotel before.Just also wanted to mention the Thomson rep Karen who was brilliant and very caring.

Room Tip: definately a sea view room

CGB is Corfus best kept secret, and i am going to let you in on it,but don't tell another soul because then they will all want to go. From the moment you arrive at this hotel you are greeted by Dimitri and Dina and their family as if you were long lost friends. For the duration of your stay they will try to cater for your every whim. Wonderful people. The hotel is in the perfect spot with beautiful views over the bay. The rooms are compact and bijou, but practical and clean, and with air-con that works! No fridges or kettles in the room, but free drinking water available and if you want a cup of tea/coffee first thing then pop down to the breakfast room and take one back to your room.
Lovely swimming pool, no problems getting a sun-lounger,plenty available. Food is very good and cooked English breakfast is available for a extra 4 euros. Hotel entertainment consists of Karioke Night ( you are not forced into singing) , Quiz Night, and greek dancing and Dimitri is also a mean dude DJ.The beach is sand/fine shingle with plenty of loungers/shades available to rent for the day. The sea is crystal clear and great for swimming and the long beach is ideal for walking along and working off those extra calories you may obtain from eating at the various excellent tavernas and restaurants along the sea front such as Blue Heaven, Dixtia, and for a great lunch you must go to Marias Snack Shack run by Maria and Andy (sisters) best greek salad in town.
In all this is a great place for a relaxing holiday. Now last but by no means least is Thomsons best kept secret. Namely, Karen the rep. I have been doing package tours for over 30 years and she is by far the best rep i have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Very friendly, will do all she can to ensure you enjoy your holiday, yet very professional. As it says in the song she is simply the best.
So now you know all about Costas Golden Beach Hotel.......but don't tell a soul because i want room there for my family next year.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea-view room on top floor ( only two levels) for the best views of the bay.
