Just spent 11 nights at this superb hotel. From the moment we arrived to the minute we left the owner and his family did everything in their power to make our stay an extremely enjoyable one. We very rarely return to a destination let alone a hotel but in this case we will definitely be considering a return visit in 2009.

The hotel is family owned and managed and the standards are extremely high in all respects.

It is located in a very quiet resort, not to everyone's taste, but if you are looking for a relaxing break this is the place for you.

Both my husband and I are used to staying in fairly large resorts so we booked the Costas Beach Hotel with a view to trying something different. We weren't disappointed. The hotel, staff, food and location were all superb. The beach only a few steps away was wonderfully clean and the waters beautifully clear and very inviting. Agios Georgios is very quiet and relaxing - if you want a hectic night life then this is not for you!

We hired a car for the day organised by our Thomson Rep Craig who was very helpful and visited Kassiopi which I would definitely recommend. We found a lovely secluded cove and spent the late morning snorkellng and then walked down into the quaint town for a lovely lunch. Corfu old town is also a definite must for a visit - we did our own thing and only used the Thomson coach to get into Corfu (about an hour from Agios Georgios) and then spent the rest of the time there ambling round the shops and enjoying a lovely evening meal. The atmosphere is great (we went on a Thursday evening (late night shopping) and got the Thomson bus back at 10.00 p.m.

We chose to eat our lunches and evening meals at the Hotel - the view from the Resaurant was fantastic and very relaxing and we did not see much point in going elsewhere - the food was so good and varied and you knew that everything was always going to be so clean and well presented.

All in all we would give it a 10/10 rating and thats even with the very small bathrooms!

We had a lovely holiday once again, as we got off the coach Demitri and Spiros gave us a lovely welcome quickly taking our cases and showing us to our rooms. We were soon in the pool to cool off.
The hotel and pool area were kept beautifully clean, there was a good variety of food , as soon as something ran out Dina was there with some more - on top of this she also kept the gardens beautifully.
As it was so hot it was lovely to have the free ice cold water on tap.
The resort itself is very nice one day we went to a boatman at the north end of the bay and he took us to Porto Timoni beach which we had almost to ourselves - he then picked us up later.
If you hire a car Arrilas Car Hire are good, you can book it on line with them but you don't pay anything until you receive the car.
Be aware that the Corfu road maps are not very accurate.
We would highly recommend this hotel although in 2009 sadly it will only be B&B.

First of all my thanks to previous reviewers for helping us to book this hotel after a week's cruise of the Greek Islands and we weren't disappointed with the outcome.

Everything that has preceded these comments regarding the friendliness of Dimitri, Dina and Spiros and their enthusiasm in making sure that you come as a guest and leave as a friend is perfectly true. They are ably assisted by every member of their staff and a special mention must be made of "Mackem" Karen who tolerated the banter from the Geordies.

Apart from staff the other things on the plus side were the quality and quantity of the food, the pride taken in the cleanliness of all the public areas, the beautiful gardens and flowers so lovingly tended by Dina, and the cold water available free of charge 24 hours a day.

Only two criticisms: i) the bathrooms are very small although they are adequate and I think that this is all that could stop this hotel being awarded a higher star rating. ii) All the soft drinks cost 2 Euros a glass and I think that this is extortionate for the amount that is given from the dispenser. Just as well that there weren't many children during our visit! Beer is a reasonable 2.50 or 3.00 Euros a pint although it can be bought in local tavernas for less.

All-in-all a great holiday and made more so by the many wonderful fellow guests that we met. We may have just been lucky but I think not as many guests have returned here year after year.

The resort of Agios Georgios is unspoiled and apart from 4 or five very small supermarkets there are NO other shops. The beach is expansive with soft, golden sand and the sea was calm and clear during our stay.

While there are many local walks you can take it is also worthwhile hiring a car for a couple of days so that you can appreciate the beautiful villages in the locality and see some of the wonderful views from the adjacent mountain tops.

One last thing. If you need to hire a taxi to take you to the resort from Corfu or to take you to other local beaches then try Sam and his two brothers on +306972767803. We were charged 44 Euros from the Port to the hotel (and the same again back to the airport) where other companies had quoted double that amount and, in the case of our tour company £160 return!

My family and I chose this hotel due to the plethora of outstanding compliments paid to it via Trip Advisor. I must say that we were not disappointed! The praise given to Dimitri, Deena, Spiros, and not forgetting, Anastacia, is fully and wholeheartedly justified. Right from the start they were attentive and helpful to the extreme. That isn't to say that they are subserviant because they're not; they have a few rules which are in place to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of every one of the residents e.g not walking straight off the beach into the Hotel Foyer. It all just enhances the experience.

My wife has a real issue with the cleanliness of Hotel rooms, particularly their bathrooms, but even she was happy at the CGB. The rooms aren't the biggest but more than adequate, with the balcony's an excellent bonus.

In regard to the food, I eat a lot! but was never left hungry at any time of the day. It was varied and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. The staff, from the bar to the restaurant, from morning 'till night, were excellent, always happy to chat whether on, or off, duty.

The pool is kept exceptionally clean, both the water and the poolside, mainly by a pool guy who arrives around 6pm each evening. Altenatively the beach is literally just across the road from the Hotel and is clean. The sea was mostly warm enough to swim in, even as far as swimming out to the paragliding pontoon in the bay, about half a mile away. There was a lifeguard on duty throughout the day and a safety flag flying. Watersports were available further down the beach although not too cheaply!

Evening entertainment was varied daily, with a combination of Dimitri and Spiros 'on the decks' in between. All tastes catered for, including requests, as well as the obligatory 'dance slot' where guests are actively encouraged to take part in 'group' dancing (Not my cup of tea but my wife and kids loved it!). It was also our eldest daughter's birthday while we were there and the Hotel provided a lovely chocolate cake, complete with sparklers, FOC!

Overall, an amazing holiday. It certainly isn't the cheapest hotel but the value for money and enjoyment far outweighs the cost. We met great people, who we've kept in touch with, and have already booked to return in August 08.
