Hotel Alkyon is just fine for people seeking quiet and peaceful place. Rooms are really small (!!!), basic, clean, furniture is old on the other hand rooms have all you need on a holiday. Everything was just fine (location, cleanliness, staff, pool area, beach...) but what was absolutely shocking was the food!!! After this experience I do not want to have a half board any more in my life, we were so sorry for people going all-inclusive because it was a waste of money! Food was such a low quality that it could not be even lower, we had such a "specialities" like italian goulash, salad made of cabbage and corn with an olive oil and so on. It made an impression that noone really cares about your good time on holiday but only about your money.
If you want a low price basic accommodation in a peaceful area, it is what you get! Just get yourself ready - actually your stomach - for a painful experience!

Room Tip: Front rooms with a sea view!

Dated hotel, with old furniture, the staff try to compensate but .... . They changed sheets every second day and cleaned the room daily. We had bad and breakfast but the food was terrible, repetitive! A quiet hotel, in a perfect and difficult to find location. It does not suite for young people. If you want a low price accommodation, that's what you'll get!

Room Tip: Get a sea or pool view room, in the main building!

Went for two weeks transfers where 2 and Half hours each way! The hotel is very tired but fantastic views from the front rooms and the rooms are cleaned every day by the very friendly cleaning staff.

Whatever you do DO NOT go all inclusive it's a complete waste of money the food is soooooooo bad we had to eat out every lunch and evening meal as the slop they serve just wasn't worth thinking about. I approached the owner about the food quality and was shocked at his very rude response and manner as if he wanted to fight me ( plus the glares for the rest of the holiday)

Should you go to this hotel there are some really nice tavernas around and it's worth a walk to the other side to visit the delfini ( spelling might not be right there) the food is amazing and very reasonably priced, I'm glad we found this place and took enough extra money or the holiday would have been a complete disaster!

Room Tip: Get a front room or don't bother!

We stayed for one week all inclusive, hotel staff could not done anymore to make our stay special. Rooms were basic with a fridge but cleaned daily, new towels provided with bedding changes daily. Meals were served throughout the day as were drinks, pool bar well stocked and staff so pleasant. Hotel is well situated in a beautiful cove with a sandy beach and view that is very panoramic not 50 yards from front of hotel and you are in a crystal clear sea, very relaxing holiday and intend to return again as could not fault the resort.

Room Tip: must have sea view at front of hotel

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel... I was absolutelly pleased with the services of the hotel staff. This hotel I can recommend to anyone who wishes quiet vacations full of relax. The sandbeach is located near the hotel, the sea was clean (although it was the end of the season). I hope to come back here again.

I have just come back from a weeks all inclusive, wer do i start!! the hotel was clean, the rooms were dated and small, had a fridge which was a bounus, most of the staff are friendly. we arrived at 11 at night we were given our keys and told us everything was closed so we couldnt get a drink or anything to eat. it took 2hrs for tranfers, 2 and a half on return. the pool area and location is really nice the views from room were fab, thats if you get a front room, if you get a back room you havent got much of a few of anything. the food was edible but very repetitive contintial breakfast, take your own tea bags as there tea is horrible. lunch was one choice meat, mash potato, veg and a bit of fruit for pud. dinner was two choices meat/fish, potato, pasta, rice, veg, soup and bread, and one bit of friut they served a chocolate bun one night. all inclusive drinks stopped at 9pm you could only have gin, brandy, beer, ouzo, coke, lemonade, water. you to pay for all other drinks and fresh orange you can have dilute orange free. you can have toasted sandwich, cheese and ham, pizza around the pool from 10am -7pm. for the location of this hotel its lovely. the tavernas around the hotel are lovely and food is nice and prices arent to bad. i would not class this hotel as an all inclusive i think it sould be b/b. there is only one safe were everybodys things go into and when your leaving if you cant keep your room on which coast 20 euros, then you have to leave your cases in a room that is not secure and is open to everyone that walks through the room. there is only one night entetanment and that is on a friday night and its a greek night, it becomes dead at night as everyone goes to bed as theres nothing to do unless you go to one of the tavanars were there abit of music in the back ground.

Room Tip: dont go all inclusive, take extra money, if you can and eat out. rooms on back are quietier but no v...

Returned yesterday from this hotel after a week with my 16 year old step daughter. We were all inclusive
The good points:-
The staff are great -very friendly and always helpful
Rooms were cleaned daily
The location is stunning as its right on the beach front and the beach is perfect clean and the sea is clear
The place is clean and tidy
The swimming pool and bar area was plenty big enough for the number of guests and it has a smaller pool for toddlers and seemed fairly safe and was cleaned every evening.
The Greek evening in the taverna attached to the hotel was fun!

The not so good stuff!
I was under the impression that the all inclusive deal finished at 10pm but on arrival we were told it was 9pm which was basically as soon as dinner was over. The beer was good but the brandy was quite weak. So that was a bit disappointing and added more expense that I wasn't expecting.

The rooms were small and dated but adequate and the fridge was a bonus!
The food. Breakfast was fine if not a little repetitive but not sure how much you can vary a continental breakfast anyway.
Lunch was usually okish- but dinner was not very inspiring and I agree with other postings in that the quality was more like a school dinner. But I think the atmosphere in the dinning room was a bit depressing particularly in the evening. As a result we ate out in the evening 5 out of the 7 nights we were there.
The best place by far was the "Ta Dixtia Taverna" at the other end on the village as the food tasted great and was really good value, it was right on the beach and the atmosphere was happy with staff pleased to chat with you even when they were busy! and it was only a 10-15 minute stroll away from the hotel.

If the food had been better it would have been reasonable value for money

Room Tip: I think this would have been fine for bed and breakfast!
