“Dreadful”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

Been visiting Greece since 1990 and this was the most dreadful welcome received anywhere.
When mt wife and I entered the restaurant there was only one table occupied and when we went to sit down we were informed, very rudely, that we would have to sit away in a corner. In an almost empty restuarant!!! We couldn't believe it.
I would certainly noy recommend this place to anyone

“Sublime Stifado”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

All the food is good at Makis Restaurant but the stifado is the best I have ever tatsed anywhere!! i cannot praise the food in ths restaurant enough. We have visited may tavernas on many Greek islands but Makis is simply the best and one of the reasons we chose St George South for our holiday.

Katerina and Makis are wonerful hosts and make everyone feel welcome. The Greek night on a Saturday is simply the best with dancers and singers from the local village although you have to book as it is so busy.

We visited St George South in May/June and can't wait to get back this August to eat at Makis

“Good traditional restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2014

This was a recomendation from a hotel guest and this did not disappoint.

It was so busy the first night we went that we decided to come back on another night. Apparently it is quite popular with the locals.

I had a lovely peppered chicked and my friend had pasta.

“Best Fishermans Spagetti Ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 September 2013

We've just recently returned from ST Georges & cannot recommend this high class retaurant enough. The warm welcome from Katrina & Makis coming out from behind his kitchen to say hello Great! We had the best Fishermans spagetti here that we've had any where in the Med or at home - we live in a seafood village.Fabulous !! So good in the first 5 days I had it twice.Never had anything but delicious food & a good house wine must be tried ! A nice touch is the Greek yogurt & honey soaked fruit at the end of your meal wonderful.Try the Greek Night it's great fun .Go & enjoy for yourself & we will most definitely be back.

“Simply the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2013

My husband and I have visited many Greek islands and ate in many Greek restaraunts but Makis is simply the best. The last time we visited St George South we did not even consider eating anywhere else. The stifado is sublime.
This year we visited another Greek island the food was good but it was not up to Makis standard. Needless to say we have now booked our stay in St George South for next year and are salivating already.
Saturday nights here are a must.
