Just got back from Sandic Apartments and we loved it. Staff were friendly, food was great, rooms were big and spacious, cleaned twice in our week stay.

Close to everything, beach, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, brilliant location.

Only grumble was we booked it not realising pool was open to the public, so get to g a bed round the pool could've been a problem, especially when some people who where staying elsewhere put their towels down overnight and only used the pool for an hour. It didn't cause a problem, but just wanted to make people aware as we booked thinking it was a small complex, but we would return.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2013

I stayed at Sandic Apartments for 14 days in July 2013 for our summer holiday with my wife, 2 kids and my mother and we had booked a 2 bedroom apartment. On arriving we checked in at reception without delay and were given an apartment on the 1st floor, however, the wife though she had booked a 3rd floor apartment which had a large balcony which was one of the reasons we picked this apartments, so initially we were a bit disappointed although the apartment itself was fine, we went down to inquire at reception about this, but as it was really busy due to a fiesta street party (this was just a one off occasion) we were asked to come back the following day. The next morning we went down to the reception area and spoke to Angelica, she was very helpful and luckily for us the apartment we wanted (304) was being vacated that day so she arranged for us to move later that afternoon which was a great result and everyone was happy.

The apartment itself was very spacious and had recently been renovated; the kitchenette had all the necessary equipment, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge and hob, there was also a wall mounted LCD TV but there was no English speaking channels but ok to if you bring a media player with you!. The rooms were cleaned and the towels changed every 3 days and the bedding changed once, although this was after 10 days, but may have been better changed after a week!!. There was Air conditioning in both bedrooms and main living area which was very effective and essential at this time of the year.

The pool area is small with only 22 sun loungers, but they are comfy ones not the usual hard plastic and there are also large sun parasols, although the area was small it was never packed and we always managed to get lounger even at 10.30am, so no need to get up early, this was a real plus as that is one of my pet holiday hates!!, there is also free wifi in the bar area which can also be picked up around the pool, this kept both the kids happy when they had had enough of the sun.

The bar under the apartments sell a good selection of food all day and there are plenty supermarkets in the area for stocking up on essentials such as fresh bread, juice etc.

Overall, we had a great holiday in Es Cana, would we go back to these apartments again? probably yes all the staff were friendly, the view from apartment 304 was fantastic and the best bit ‘no sun bed dash!!’

Just a note there are 3 floors in the block, but no lifts so if you don’t want to climb stairs bear this in mind and request a low floor.

Room Tip: Room 304 has great views across the bay

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2013

Just returned from a week at the Sandic Apartments in Es Cana, Ibiza.
Arrived at silly o'clock, 4am maybe, didn't look at my watch but no-one there to give us a key!
There was a phone number on the door and luckily we had a mobile with us so rang the number and very soon Vincent arrived, full of apologies that he'd forgotten to leave the key out for us. As he'd had to get up and come out, we forgave him, and went straight up to bed.
When we awoke the next morning, we found a very spacious apartment, with a bedroom, large living area with a kitchen, loads of wardrobe space and a smallish bathroom but with a large walk-in shower. Bedroom didn't have much natural light but only sleeping in there so not actually bothered. The rest of the apartment was light and airy, with a balcony with a sea view, and it made a very pleasant base for our short break. Air con was provided but we didn't need it, it was a bit chilly at night but really warm during the day. There were extra blankets and pillows in the wardrobe if you needed them.
Bedrooms are at the back and living rooms at the front, although we'd read in some reviews that the Roxy's bar downstairs was noisy, we never heard any noise from it. The bar across the road was a bit noisy once or twice but nothing major. The kitchen was functional, but not that bothered about using it apart from tea, coffee and toast, I don't go on holiday to cook! Thought there was a hair dryer but not so, so hair had to dry itself, not a problem except for fringe sticking up at an odd angle which doesn't happen when I can dry it! Supermarket just up the road, not a minute away, for basic supplies. Regular cleaning took place and towel changes, don't think the bed linen was changed but I wouldn't really expect that for a one week stay.
Angelica and Vincent were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts at Roxy's bar were great, as were the bar snacks and next door, in the evenings, The Bull's Head did really good English food at good prices. I think the prices were broadly similar to UK prices. There were the standard €10 3 course evening meals in most places and we tried a few which were okay but once we tried the Bull's Head, we didn't go anywhere else as we found their food far superior to anything else we tried.
Out the back of the Sandic, there is a small terraced area with tables and chairs and a small, clean pool with a children's pool. There was also a shower by the pool.
I think I counted 18 smart, new looking, sun loungers and we never had a problem getting one. Es Cana beach is nice too but at this time of year, the water was freezing both in the sea and the pool. Once you got in, it was okay but a bit teeth-chattering getting in!
I enjoyed the music in Roxy's, all 60s, 70s and 80s and there was a TV for sports coverage.
TV in the rooms seemed mostly Spanish channels however, we discovered that you could change the language on some channels by pressing the bottom left audio button. If you pressed this and it gave you some language options, select English and off you go! Didn't work on all channels but worth trying out. Free wiFi in the bar, ask for the password, and also in a lot of the bars, again, just ask for the password. We could get the wiFi in the apartment but signal was a bit weak sometimes, we were on second floor, probably better reception on first floor.
No lift here so if you're not good with stairs ask for 1st floor which is only 2 flights of stairs.
Just up the road from Sandic was the Hippy Market which is on Wednesdays only. I have never seen so may people in one place! You could hardly move and we didn't really look at the stalls much as we were just trying to get out of the place, if you don't like crowded places, give it a miss. I understand that David Cameron was there the same Wednesday as we were there, maybe that's why it was very busy or maybe it's always like that, but definitely not to my liking.
We caught the bus to Santa Eulalia about 10 mins drive away, lovely place for a walk round and a nice beach here too.
Due to our silly flight times, we asked if we could keep the room for most of our departure day, and as there was availability, for €30 we kept the apartment till 1am.
If you know that you will be flying late at night, may be worth booking an extra day to ensure keeping a roof over your head, as if it is fully booked, it won't be possible.

We would be happy to return here and will more than likely do so. It was a cheap last minute holiday and we thought it was great.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be fine but as there is no lift, ask for lower floor if you are not good with stai...

Stayed here in may 2013 with my partner. Found the apartments to be basic but clean. Lovely family run apartments right on the doorstep to everything.
Lovely italian restaurant across the road which is a must!
Great value for what we paid but drinks a little pricey. Food nice & fresh.
Bar open late with good music.
Great views from balcony inc sunrise!

Lovely friendly family run apartments. Near to beach (Sea view from most apartments) and amenities without being on top of everything. Bar underneath with nice basic food menu and bar prices were reasonable compared to rest of resort. Very clean always checking you had enough towels etc. Big spacious apartments light and airy. Hosts very welcoming, food great and good value.

A few niggles which could be put right with little effort. List of items not included When abroad which would be useful.
1.no tin/bottle opener 2. microwave dishes or jug. 3. tea towel or wash cloth. 4. Bowl for sink.
fridge although working was frosty all over and had broken shelves.5. Kettle full off limescale.(was swapped quickly)
6. 2 electric hobs were useless could not even boil an egg before it turned off.(we had to swap apts due to an unforeseen problem, and both cookers were the same. Did not complain but ate out.
7. Loads of hanging space but only 1 drawer in bedroom.

Because of the nice hosts, food and location would return without haste.

Room Tip: If you can manage stairs ok as there is no lift then go for a higher floor as less noise from bar...

The 2 bedroom apartments are very spacious and situated in a good position to explore the area. Unfortunately the apartments were only cleaned once during our 10 day stay! also there was a lack of cooking utensils and a fridge that froze everything in it due to the amount of ice! The air conditioning was very good and the apartments look modern with a table inside and outside on the balcony, be sure to ask for a view of the sea. The pool area was very small which nobody used much as the beaches were so close. I would go back again if the kitchen area and cleanliness was improved.
