“Loveley 3 Star Hotel”
Reviewed 14 July 2013

My wife and I stayed at the Fiesta Cala Nova in early July 2013. We have stayed here several times before and have never been dissappointed. We see many old faces so they must like it too. It is a good 3 star hotel and well worth the 4T rating. It is in a quiet location about 10 to 15 minutes stroll from the centre of Es Canar but the lovely sea views and sandy beach right on the doorstep make this effort well worth it. Rooms are basic but clean, comfortable and airy with plenty of storage space. Every room has a reasonable size balcony and many have lovely sea views ( at a small supplement). The location of the hotel means that it is quiet at night except Wednesdays when there is a very noisy disco at the restaurant next door. However, this stops at midnight. The restaurant is spacious and airy with an outdoor section if you prefer to dine al fresco. The food is good and always a really good choice to suit everybody. We always take the all inclusive option which, this year, was good value 19.50 euros per day. This then saves having to have a room safe which is expensive at 3.95 euros per day. A drinks only option is available at 15.50 euros per day if you don't want lunch. There is a good sun terrace surrounding the pool and there are usually plenty of sunbeds. Parasols can be scarse if you are a latecomer. There is also a very good childrens pool complete with its own sun terrace and sunbeds. The entertainment team work hard without being too pushy. Evening entertainment is varied but average hotel fare. If you are looking for a good 3 star hotel in a quiet location which suits both couples and families give this a try. I don't think you will be disappointed. We will definately return again.

Stayed for 10 nights and can safely say that both my boyfriend and I had a great holiday! The rooms were of a good size and we had a good sea view. I had emailed in advance to ask for a non-adjoining room, which the hotel was happy to accommodate. The staff in the restaurant were very welcoming and always had a smile on their faces! There was plenty of food available on the half board option, and as a vegetarian I didn't have any trouble finding enough to eat! It was only a 5-10 min walk to the beach or town with many good bars and restaurants. I would recommend rios bar and Popeyes! The pool area was nice but usually quite busy, however when going to the pool in the afternoon there was always at least two sun beds available and often an umbrella. Overall I would recommend this hotel!

Ideal family hotel, great location near some lovely beach bars in particular 'atzuro beach' and 'fish and tonic' ( after a drink- free wifi for the duration of our stay). Great wee shop at the camp site for sarnies and water. We took wine into the dining room instead of paying the hotels' more costly options. We were half board.

Kids pool reassuringly shallow but immense fun for our 6 yr old.

Located comfortably away from main centre of es Cana but less than 10 mins into town on foot.

Food at breakfast was ideal- options for everyone.
Dinner got a bit bland after 2 weeks but I admired their adventurous options like squid or mussels. Paella was good. Could do with more local dishes.

on the downside

Room was tight for three but clean. Family rooms are not family rooms , just standard rooms with an extra bed. I resent paying for water at dinner and paying for wifi and worst of all paying for the safe.

All in all delighted

Room Tip: top floor had great views and oddly no mosquitos.

Just returned from our 5th visit to the Hotel Cala Nova. We really feel at home here, as the hotel and staff continue to provide an excellent service. We find it reassuring to see most of the same people working there year after year, which probably explains why the service is so consistent. We always get a warm welcome, especially from Virginia in the restaurant.

Last year saw the installation on the new children's pool area, which has made a huge difference. Though we don't have young kids, we noticed the benefit, as their needs are better catered for with all the activity centered around this new area and kids club centre (leaving the main pool less crowded).

The room cleanliness and hotel food continue to be of a high standard.

I would hope that the recent improvements are part of a longer programme, as the only issues still to be sorted (from a customer's perspective) are: fridges in room (not a big issue for us but for many it is - especially those on half board - really don't think this should be paid for extra) - TV's need replacing (don't use much but well past sell-by date) - bar area needs refurbishment (couple we met said not changed in the 26 years they've been coming!!)

Don't be put off by these comments - it is still a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday. We will be back next year.

Room Tip: Avoid adjoining rooms (unless you need one), as you can hear a pin drop from next door. Upper floors...

Ok so we stayed here this time last year and loved it so much we booked again the same time this year. The first thing we noticed was the familiar faces that stayed here last year that were here again. Our in joke was that this place was the TV programme Benidorm and I was Mick Garvey. Anyway back to my review. What we've got to remember is this is a 3 star hotel. The place is immaculately clean and the staff are so helpful. The food wasn't quite as good as last year and the bar prices have gone up a bit but there is a recession on, Ibiza is a hell of a lot more quite than it was a year ago. We stayed half board and since last year they've been a few more restaurants open in the area than last year. I thoroughly recommend Fish and tonic next to the camp site shop. We've made some great friends and as we have a 3 year old son, the entertainment team were great keeping the kids entertained day and night. It's obvious why people have been coming here every year, some for over 30 years. Definitely the best hotel in Es Cana. As long as we can afford it well be back next year. Ps the guy on reception looks like John Bishop.

We have just returned from 10 days at the Cala Nova. We had a wonderful time at this hotel, the staff were very friendly, the Hotel was very clean and the there was a great choice in the restaurant (I'm a fussy eater and found something most evenings) the food was hot and they always made sure there was plenty of it. The lovely beach is a 5 minute walk away and there are places to eat right on the beach, there is also a little shop 5 minutes away if you want anything.
If you want a walk after your evening meal the shops, bars and restaurants are just a short walk away.
As stated earlier the scraping of chairs and doors banging was a bit annoying but that's not the hotels fault, it is quite easy for the guests to have a bit of consideration and take a bit of care.
We would definitely book there again. If you have children with you there is a lifeguard on duty by the children's pool and entertainment for them through the day and evening.
Our Thomson rep Candice was excellent and was in the hotel 6 day's/evenings a week if you needed her.
All in all a lovely relaxing holiday
