We stayed at the hotel from the 5th - 12th July and overall we had great holiday

Having read previous reviews I emailed the hotel before arriving to ask for a room on one of the top floors and one that isn't inter-connecting. I didn't get a response to the email but we got a room on the 4th floor and it wasn't inter-connecting so that was great. The room itself was a bit below the standard I was expecting although it was spotless. The beds were like camp beds and very noisy & uncomfortable, there was no fridge (read close to the end of the holiday that you can hire one?), you had to pay to use the safe and only 3 TV channels in English, which were all news. We did have a half decent view overlooking the front of the hotel and partial sea view to the right... Thompson advertise this as a 4 star hotel but the rooms are 3 star at best.

The staff were always friendly and provided a great service

We stayed half board... The breakfasts were great with a lot of choice and omlettes cooked to order. Only ate in the hotel on an evening a couple of times (again, plenty of choice) as there are some really nice restaurants near by such as Fish & Tonic, Punta Verde and the other one right on Cala Nova beach. Drinks in the pool bar were expensive and we soon discovered that it is much, much cheaper to buy beer and snacks (great baguettes) from the little supermarket opposite the hotel

The pool area itself got a little crowded and for the first few days we struggled to get any loungers but prefered to be on the beach anyway so it wasn't too much of a big deal. Didn't take part in any of the activities but there always seemed to be something going on... Mostly family orientated

The hotel is in a great location. 5/10 min walk to Es Cana and direct access to Cala Nova beach. It was also only a 20 min walk to Cala Lleyna which had a fantastic beach

I would recommend the Cala Nova to others and I would stay there again if looking for a cheap and cheerful getaway... As long as the price is right and you're not expecting luxury although with a little updating in the bedrooms it could be a great place to stay

My dad, husband, 4 year old son and myself visited this hotel from 7th - 14th July 2014. I have been there before as a child and subsequent years after with family and then my husband. On our arrival we went to our room which had a horrendous view being eye level with a huge air conditioning pipe that ran along the roof of the restaurant . I immediately went back to reception and said I was not prepared to pay £2000 for a week for us to look onto a pipe and that I wanted to be moved. My Thompson rep was useless but the hotel manager stepped in and managed to manoeuvre things around so that we all had rooms on the 5th floor with fantastic views. Having a young child we spent our late evenings on the balcony with a bottle of wine which was lovely however we would have been devastated if we had had to keep our original room. Thank you very much to the hotel staff, this was our first overseas holiday in 6 years and they made it a great one. Thank you cala nova fiesta for great food, great surroundings and a great time.

We were allocated room 527 for our weeks holiday. A lovely room on the top floor, overlooking the sea and right across to the town of Es Cana. The room was over the top of the dining room/outside eating area, but as we were on the 5th floor it didn't matter. View of the sea was amazing. We had a lovely stay, the hotel was busy but we always found a table at dinner each night. The hotel had a great card system of letting people know what tables were free and what ones were not. This worked really well. Food was very good, we were on half board and there was a different meal each night for the whole seven nights. Even when we got into the dining room late there was still plenty of choice and the food remained hot. We didn't do the day time activities but they were available if you wanted to do them. We did watch the Beatles tribute act during our stay which was good fun, although it was the same night at Germany vs Brazil so VERY quiet outside! The walk into Es Cana is nice, we did it about three times a day some days! When you go you must treat yourself to a visit to the Jacaranda lounge and the Mandarin Chinese Restaurant. Lovely. One day we got a bus into Sta Eulalia and another a ferry from Sta Eulalia to Cala Llonga. Visiting both resorts Es Cana was best for us, same as the hotel. For us it was ideally placed, being just outside the main resort meant we could walk in and back. We were lucky enough to be there during fiesta time and saw the magnificant firework display from our balcony. What a treat that was. On the whole we had a lovely week and would recommend Cala Nova Hotel without a doubt to anyone wanting to visit the beautiful resort of Es Cana.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the town I would imagine are quieter than the other side. Higher rooms have better sea views.

We have visited here three times, each time has been great. Staff are friendly, rooms always nicely presented, although perhaps they could do with a bit of decor freshening at some point in the near future.

Great amenities, they have kids play area, bar side pool that serves snacks, although we personally do not use these, we go to the beach which was about a two minute walk from our room.

Wifi services available, it's ok, signal not always great.

Food is superb, breakfast especially is amazing. Large variety of food, as there is in the evening.

Great value for money too, you can get great deals with this hotel if you shop around properly, so for what you get, its great value.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on one of the top floors. You may not get one, and I wouldn't necessarily pay extra, but you may get one, and it is quieter and with amazing views across the whole resort.

Just back from a 7 night break at this hotel had an excellent time all the staff very friendly. The hotel was spotless, food was plenty & ok, as we where all inclusive it was fine,W plenty bars nearby if you fancied a change. The entertainment staff where all brilliant they really made our holiday from morning till night great laughs. The hotels entertainment programme was also very good. Glad to see that the hotel had a strict policy on no towels left on sunbeds till after 9 oclock, so you could have your breakfast and still have time to get a sunbed. All in all great hotel and area to stay plenty shops 10 mins walk from the hotel. Good shop at the campsite who make fresh baguettes as you wait, very friendly. Will defo return to this hotel again :)

Room Tip: We where facing the town which I think could have been quieter than the ones facing the pool, but that is just my opinion! All the rooms from the 3rd floor up will have a seaview of some kind.
