“Good hotel let down by the food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2013

We have just returned from a week at the Coral Beach and found it good but let down by the food.
Location.
Very good location near to two beaches and a short walk into the resort centre. We had a lovely view of the mountains and greenery.

Rooms
Very comfortable and clean. Quite spacious with a bath with overhead shower and a small TV. There were only 2 english speaking channels i.e BBC World news and Sky news but this is quite common for spain. The towels were very thin and there weren't many coat hangers but other than that we were happy with the rooms.

Staff
The staff were pleasant and the cleaners did a marvelous job as the hotel from top to bottom was always gleaming.

Snackbar
We were so glad the snack bar was there as they did cook everything from scratch so you got fresh hot food. There was a good selection including toasties, hot dogs, beefburgers, fries, salads and 4 types of icecream including Nestles version of cornettos. Top marks to the staff and cook at the snackbar.

Restaurant
This was the downfall of the hotel for us. We were all inclusive and were very disapointed with the food. Nothing was ever hot ranging from cold to lukewarm. There was a microwave but I saw someone trying to use it and they couldn't get it to work. The breakfast was ok in that you had a good selection including pancakes, fruit, cereals, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage beans etc but the fried eggs were never soft in the middle and everything was tepid. As other people commented the coffee was horrible but we had taken some of our own so used that.
Lunch was very bland with limited choice and the evening meal was also usually bland and tepid. The salads were fine as they were meant to be cold. One night they had goulash which was tasty but cold. They also had a chinese night and a mexican night but again the food was cold so might have been tasty if warm. One night the wine dispenser wasn't working so there was only one for the packed restaurant. The staff were made aware but it was off for the whole evening service.
Another major issue with the restaurant was the use of huge hostess trolleys by the staff so you were constantly having an obstacle course trying not to be run over by a trolley. They were constantly in the way of the food and I'm surprised nobody had an accident.

Entertainment
We only experienced it twice on a night but it seemed to be the normal spanish hotel entertainment and it seemed ok. I was impressed with the massive salon bar as well as the outside entertainment area, as there was always somewhere available to have a seat and a drink.

Everyone was very friendly at the hotel and left magazines which they had read on the table o the landings as well as books. Don't know if this was just the week we were there but it was a great idea. There were many nationalities in the hotel and all pleasant.
There were 2 lifts but we never had to wait long.
On our last day we were going to order a packed breakfast, but the reception staff said they weren't available but you could go to the restaurant as long as you booked in and it had to be before 7am. As we weren't leaving until 8am it was too early. Just a little thing but I do think they could have done a packed breakfast for those leaving around the 8am mark as the restaurant doesn't open until 8am.

The resort itself was very nice with a number of bars, shops and restaurants. Popeyes and Charlies were very good with entertainment. Due to the poor food we did have some meals out and can recommend the Bulls head, situated round the corner from the harbour. We had a lovely 3 course meal including steaks and a bottle of wine for 34 euros.

All in all I thought it was a lovely resort and a good hotel. I wouldn't return purely because of the food or if I did it wouldn't be all inclusive

we just had 11days at coral beach.we found the hotel were very relaxed but very clean.the room was very comfortable with tv and a powerful shower although we never used the tv.free air con if needed and comfy beds.the maid came in everyday and was very thourough.the food was nice and the drinks from the bar were good. the best part was the location just round the corner from the main beach, only a short walk up the road opposite for two more beautiful beaches called cala nova.we went on the boat to ibiza town ,st ullaria and cala llonga which are beautiful.we also took the little train from ec canna round to fouf other bays also beautiful and you saw some of the countryside too all in all we had a fab holiday x

Room Tip: ask for high floor pool and sea view

Really struggling to find something positive about this hotel. Staff didn't look up or greet us when we checked in, kind of making us want to walk out again....wish we had!

Rooms are noisy with banging of doors and noise from neighbours next door. Balcony has around another 30 rooms overlooking. Air con doesn't work, no kettle or fridge and to top it off the spare pillows (which are like pancakes) have no pillowcases. The shower goes boiling hot every 10 seconds and there is some chimney thing in the bathroom with exposed pipes and dirt from the ground floor to the roof.

Went down to the soul less bar, had a few watered down drinks then joined the cast of cocoon for a semi warm dinner in the cob web strewn dining room - Halloween has come early to Es Cana.

Had a look at the pool, won't be swimming in it as it looks filthy.

Basically this hotel would suit bus tour groups with the average age of 65 that pay no more than £25 a night....when's the next flight to London.

Room Tip: Don't come!

Dear Baexecutive, We are very sorry that you have felt this way on your recent visit to us. We are intrigued to know what sort of research did you do when choosing us. At no place ever have we advertised as providing kettles or fridges to the rooms we have. A mere cursory look at any of the typical advertisement photos for our hotel you would have noticed that our balconies are precisely as you describe them. Why the outrage? That "chimney thing" you mention is called a service shaft and its actually quite common in many hotels as an easy and fast way to reach the maintenance sections for each room. You will note that said service shaft is actually closed to you and is not meant to be opened by guests or part of your hotel experience. Air conditioning does work as it has for the whole summer. Its a centralized system and if you had no air so would none of the rest of guests. A simple call to the front desk would have sent you one our technics to regulate it for you taste and perhaps explain you how it works if you would not have seen the instructions in your room information folder. Interesting also your mentioning our watered down drinks. Our guests normally believe its quite the opposite (check the feedback bellow). No idea where you might have seen cob webs in our dinning hall or our pool as "filthy". One of our most repeated strong points here at tripadvisor has always been our meticulous care for cleanliness. All in all thank you so much for your visit.

We have just come back from a fab week at the Coral Beach - a very relaxing holiday. The hotal is very friendly, spotlessly clean (clean toewels every day) the food was pretty varied and the staff were friendly and attentive.
The only faults we could find were with the entertainment - a friendly 'team' but not very imaginative. Day time activities were a bit hit and miss - music around the pool area was repetitive, sporadic and sometimes very loud. The childrens disco every evening which started around 8.30 - 9pm, too late for young children and not conducive for adults without children and often only one or two children taking part. The two young ladies leading the entertainment didn't really interact with the children very much. The evening entertainment was ok - but the microphone used by the entertainment team was extremely loud therefore the audience were not able to hear what was being said. However, I wouln't hesitate to go back.
The only down side was the drains - not just for the hotel but most of the area!

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the front of the hotel and the smell of the drains!!

bar staf were exceptional,as were the animacion team.
not too big, 5 floors, family friendly.
nice pool, but you have to be up early to beat the towel brigade to get the best sunloungers !!
decent selection of food , what you expect abroad.
good beach just down the road, 5 euros for a sunbed all day.

Room Tip: go high overlooking the bay.

Whilst the hotel was clean and the holiday was relaxing, the food was just lukewarm and similar foods on the menu everyday. Only certain drinks were allowed at certain meal times, ie: coffee and juice machines only available at breakfast, being all inclusive I would have liked a coffee after every meal. A utensil fell to the dining room floor one day, a gentleman picked it up and handed it to a chef who just put it back by food instead of replacing it. Waiting staff in the dining room had very little customer service skills and usually forgot to smile or make their guests even feel welcome. Reception, cleaning and bar staff were lovely though and the entertainment was good. The rooms in the hotel were nothing spectacular, if you are a light sleeper be prepared to hear everything from the other rooms around you, even ladies wearing heels, you can hear that too. And if you want a lounger by the pool you need to get into a line and form a queue. And all inclusive finishes at 11pm everyday. Drinks and snacks quite expensive at the hotel after all inclusive period. Not at all what we expected.

Just come back from week at coral beach. Hotel spotlessly clean and staff very friendly, and helpful. We stayed in room 342, which was recommended on trip advisor, two balconies, one facing pool and other the park and town.great.First time my husband and I have stayed all inclusive,we usually do self catering, found it ok food usual hotel style, salads good selection, drinks were all good quality, bar staff excellent particularity Manuel and Antonio. Main criticism. Was the sunbed situation, we watched the mad dash to put towels on sunbed at 9, but most annoying nobody came back to use them until late afternoon! Yes they were all British !Think this needs looking at ,we have stayed at other accomadation s which handled this by if no one used after two hours towels were removed and owners collected from reception. First time visited Ibiza definitely go back, coral beach great place , just wouldn't do all inclusive, plenty of great restaurants at good prices.

Room Tip: Corner rooms sunny all day
