“A decent week away.”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

My sister and I (I'm 21, she's 24) spent a week here from 5th July-12th July 2014. We wanted to visit Ibiza but didn't want a partying holiday so Es Cana seemed like the perfect location. Upon arrival out first impressions weren't great, the majority of guests seemed to be 50/60+ so we felt very out of place but we found later on that there were some younger couples and young families too.

The hotel is beautifully clean, the maid service is brilliant and the tables are cleared quickly in the restaurant. The staff overall are all very friendly, particularly the animation team who tried and failed on multiple occasions to get me to join in (sorry guys), they weren't overly pushy though and the guests that joined in seemed to have a really good time. The atmosphere in the hotel throughout the day was lovely, we mainly stayed by the upper pool which was quiet and away from the majority of the games apart from water polo in the afternoon which was fun to watch.

The worst part of the hotel was that the walls are ridiculously thin and the neighbors in the room next to us were a nightmare. They would come back to the room every night at midnight and argue, shout and play music until the early hours of the morning. The food is very repetitive and I resorted to eating the same meal most days but we could always find something and some of the desserts were lovely. Snacks other than ice cream would have been a nice addition between meals as would the availability of bottled water to take to your room too.

The evening acts that performed were absolutely terrible; a magician, some strictly come dancing style performers and a karaoke type singer to name a few. Many guests got up and left half way through the acts. The best night was when the animation team held a quiz for everyone which was cheesy but good fun.

Es Cana itself is lovely though the beach was smaller than expected. We watched the fireworks on 10th July on the beach and these were really fantastic. The Jacaranda Lounge had the best sea views and we spent a nice evening there, though the cocktails are very expensive.

Just returned from a one week holiday to the Ereso, had a great time, beautiful weather and a nice relaxing holiday. Perfect for couples or families.

The good:
Very clean rooms and hotel
All staff very friendly
2 clean and ample sized pools
Good selection of soft and alcoholic drinks
Varied food at meal times- highlight was defiantly crepes!
Lovely resort that is quiet but can find enough things to do and nightlife if you want it
Animation team keep children entertained and adults amused
Just a stone throw from the beach

The bad:
Not enough parasols so stampede at 8am
No hair dryers in room

But by far the positives out way the negatives and will defiantly be back!

First time all inclusive and will never go back to half board as saved a fortune on drinks and ice cream!

Room Tip: Didn't have a pool or sea view but nice and quiet room with a balcony perfect for us!

From the moment you stepped through the door and got a warm welcome from reception team and management, you know it is going to be a good hotel.
it was our silver wedding anniversary and had e. Mailed the hotel in advance asking if they could pop some champagne in the room - sure enough ghere it was in an ice bucket when we entered our room.
If you like food then you will not be disappointed - we brough some money anticipating that we would occadionally eat out, but the food quality and choice was do good that we didnt eat out once. Restaurant staff really friendly and efficient.
Sun beds.......yes there are plenty and with the pool getting the sun all day you can pitch the beds anywhere - umbrellas though are not do plentiful so if you want one best get down and join the queue......hotel does not allow beds to be reserved so guests not sllowed sround pool until 8am.....this means that some eager souls start queueing around 7.15 so its a farcical "stampede" when the door is fihally unlocked...
The hotel is spotlessly clean, so credit go cleaners, waiters, bar team for keeping it that way.
Never seen 4 entertainment team members work so hard...10.30 to midnight every day.....yes therd is a cheesy club dsnce ghey do 5 times a day, but lots of people joined in and we sll now know it off by heart. One of the team, James Brown, is english, and ehile they encourage you to join in they dont force anyone. Evening shows ard a bit hit snd miss....but dont miss the double D's :)
Very friendly resort.....newspapers available from shop oposite for 2.20 euros.
We had an absolutely fantastic time and a serioulsy considering returning there next year as it was that good.

Room Tip: Floors 5 and 6 overlooking the road give a great view of the sea....pool view ok but not worth payin...

Spotlessly clean and plenty of choice on drinks. Restaurant typical AI for 3 star, plenty of choice at breakfast and lunch ok. However evening really disappointing. If you go here on a cheap deal with the view to eat out then you'll be fine. However, Es Canar itself is small and not that pretty so isn't a huge amount of choice to dine out either. Really let's it down not having snack bar option even if a few toasties or burgers just to avoid having to go into the school-dining style restaurant! Better getting the bus (1.50 euro each) to Santa Eulalia for a nicer experience. Entertainment usual rubbish but many people enjoyed it so if that's what you're looking for...and to be fair by the end of the week we were joining in with the silly dancing. it was good enough for a cheap week in the sun, and the resort and hotel catered for Brits. We wouldn't return to the hotel or the resort and found our overall experience of Ibiza disappointing having heard many good reports. Majorca much prettier!

I have worked in a four star hotel for last 13 years and this hotel should be four star in my eyes! It is so clean and all staff are professional and friendly and everyone seems to genuinely want to help you enjoy your holiday. The manager is often seen wandering around the pool area and reception area talking and greeting guests - he asked us as we waited to be picked up to go home if we had enjoyed our holiday and I told him he had an excellent hotel and staff and he said it is made easier by the lovely clients (bless him). We stayed for 7 days first week in July was getting busier as we were leaving but still could find a sun bed (sometimes just on the top sun terrace) and never had to queue for food at any of the meals there was always free tables. Yes people do queue at 6.55pm in the evening but that did not create uneccessary queues for anyone and the food was always fresh with more fresh meat than I have ever seen at all inclusive hotels before and my daughter is vegetarian and she always had good choice too. We never had to queue for drinks either at the restaurant (which was self service) or at the bars although drinks could be served in slightly bigger glasses saves you keep going back for refills. Also the only thing I think this hotel lacks is the provsion of any snacks in between main meals. It was mentioned when we checked in that sandwiches were available at the bar in the afternoons but I never saw them, but there was lovely icecreams and lollies readily available (husband took a particular liking to the lemon cornettos), Entertainment in the evening was better than average Double D a comedy female act were hilarious and well worth watching. Would have liked to see a game of bingo in the evenings especially as a lot of the clients were of the more mature age think this would have gone down well. We had a family room and it was lovely and spacious but we did move to a standard room as our room was not available for a late check out and it was very small so upgrade to a family room if you get the chance we had a massive balcony too. Rooms cleaned daily and towels and linen changed every day too. There was a strong smell of amonia in room corridors and reception area - think it was their cleaning fluid but it did smell like urine a lot of the time and was quite strong at times. The party dance that takes place a few times a day is annoying at the beginning but you are on holiday and it does get people in the mood and in between there is no music playing (well apart from a few guests that chose to play their music by their beds believing everyone wants to listen to their tunes - have they not heard of headphones????). No inflatables are allowed in the pool which gave a lot more space in the water. Local beach is nothing special but the little tourist train can be booked which takes you on a 3 hour ride and shows you some more prettier beaches and is a great little trip. The Hippy market was rubbish full of tat that you can get for the same price in all the local shops. There was lots of nice shops, bars and restaurants more than I expected in the small resort so you certainly do not have to walk far to get to them. I have not been to Ibiza for 30 years (normally go to Majorca) but if I returned I would definately returnedto Ereso.

Room Tip: We had back of hotel and although by room was probably quieter than a pool view

Arrived at this hotel 11/6/14 departed 18/6/14 (All Inclusive) first impression of this hotel is clean and friendly, we were allocated room 521 the room was clean with a nice view of the pool and sea, ( the room was cleaned every day with fresh towels the bed was not change during the week we were here) I hired a safe key 2 euros a day and a fridge 3 euros a day, unknown to us we were given the room next to the family from hell that were arguing till the late hours (wall are on thin side) which set the baby off crying, fortunately they were only there for 2 days.

The restaurant is good and plenty of what you want to eat and drink and very clean the staff were brill and worked realy hard, the Pool Bar is disappointing that they do not do snack during the day I love a cheese toastie, the drinks were good.

Entertainment was good and something happening most days, Charlie bar at night was brilliant.

The walk to the beach is a 5 min stroll and is nice with lots going on nice for a night walk.

Overall this is a good hotel where I would return to and know what you are getting.

Room Tip: The higher the better with pool view

I have just returned from 10 days at this hotel and was really disappointed – despite all the glowing reviews here on Trip Advisor. This was not the experience I had.

I went to Majorica last year through First Choice to a 3 star All Inclusive hotel but this just does not compare. Firstly although the hotel is billed as being near the beach, the beach is not nice – not somewhere you would spend the day. The nice beach is almost 15 minutes walk away in Cala Nova (which is lovely). I am not a snob, but I found the whole dancing and arm waving around the pool very cringey – just be aware that it is quite Butlins like (which is fine if that’s what you like, but the reviews here do not reflect that). We ended up spending all day out of the hotel.

However I have to say that the restaurant area is awful – really not nice. No natural daylight AT ALL. Low ceilings and dungeon like, with a smell of school dinners, plus lots of notices “It is forbidden to remove food”, “It is forbidden to fill water bottltes” – not very holiday-like. There is a queue forming at 6.55pm ready for the doors to open – seriously they are not going to run out of food – relax. The food is average – breakfast is good, but the dinner was pretty poor. The packed lunches are awful. A dry soft roll with one slice of processed chicken (turkey? – who knows!) and no salad, butter, mayo nothing. We ended up eating out a lot.

The place is very clean, and the staff at reception are really helpful and friendly. The serving staff were less friendly but I think they are probably a bit disillusioned with us Brits and cannot fathom our behaviour – rushing to the bar at 11am ready for the free booze. In fact, one of the girls behind the bar splashed beer all over me and just laughed to herself.

Finally - as mentioned in another review you can hear everything in the next door room - and bathroom - not pleasant!

Ps - on a good note - we asked for a sea view - and the view as lovely!!

So – if this is what you like then go for it, but at least you know what you are going to.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view on a high floor - really lovely view
