Just returned from a very nice week at the Hotel Caribe. Food was typical AI but plenty of choice most days. The breakfast was probably the best we've had on a AI holiday. No problem with sun beds, I didn't bother with queuing for the 8am rush, I just went down around 8:15am and got sun beds no problem. The entertainment staff work tirelessly and were great all day and night.

My only gripes were the AI should start at 10am. We always found ourselves waiting for it to start at 11am. The internet was also quite slow in our room having paid 20 euros for the privilege. I asked the Thomas Cook rep re the recent stomach bug and she said the last 2 weeks things have been clear. When they had the bug experts came into the hotel but couldn't find the cause.

Thank you for your feedback and your time.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us.
About de virus, we cannot find the cause because is not something that has started on the hotel, the only we know, thanks of the Spanish Health Department, is that the virus was not the hotels fault.
Hope see you again, kind regards.

Firstly, oh how I agree with CH1234566 from Leeds...and everything that is said in that review!
We stayed here for one week 30 July - 6 August as All Inclusive guests.

OK - let's start with the good stuff...it won't take long!
The hotel itself was kept very clean and reception staff were always pleasant and usually helpful.
Restaurant staff work very hard, were always polite and we could not fault the variety/quality of the food.
The pool was nice and we saw the water being tested and cleaned every evening.
It was near to the beach and Es Canar is a lovely resort - sunbeds and umbrellas are 5 euros each per day.

Please note the differences between All Inclusive and Half Board.
AI: From 11am-11pm. All drinks served in plastic cups, including tea and coffee. Cocktails from a machine - all frothy and tasted how I imagine fairy liquid to taste. Long queues formed when sometimes only one barman.
HB: From 10am - 1am. All drinks served in glasses. Tea and coffee served in cups and saucers. Cocktails made up from bottles at the bar and 'dressed' with umbrellas/feathers.
Despite being AI we had to pay 3 euros per day for the use of a safe.
It begs the question why??????????When we paid extra for All Inclusive??????????????????

Breakfast was served from 8-10am. Our pick-up for the flight home was 7.30am. Guests with early morning pick-up were offered cereals, milk, tea, coffee, french stick/rolls from the night before, marmalade, no butter. We witnessed the cereals being put out at 9.30pm the night before. At that time in the restaurant there was no air-con and no sign of any restaurant staff. There was just one receptionist and the cleaners. Oh, and I forgot the one woman who came down at 7.10am with her pile of towels ready for the stampede to the sunbeds when the doors opened at 8am!!

The pool was open until 7.30pm. One evening at 6pm the cleaners began jet washing and chipping away at cement grout around the kids pool. This was very noisy and went on for one hour. We complained to reception staff who said they should not be doing the work at that time. However no-one came out to tell them to stop.

Is the lifeguard qualified? Where was his medical kit? Where was his whistle to stop the rowdy kids jumping on everyone else in the pool? There was a sign to say 'No Diving' but he quite happily sat there and watched guests diving in. He also worked clearing tables and emptying bins!! On the Sunday he wasn't even there!!! Obviously no accidents occur on a Sunday.

Now for the entertainment...?...the Variety Night....the regular entertainers performed some sketches...comedy I think....some guests were actually laughing....we couldn't believe it. Then there was Karaoke Night...so badly organised it was painful and embarrassing to be in the audience. The other nights we found our entertainment outside the hotel - Charlies Bar was much more entertaining.
By the Thomas Cook desk was a notice board detailing the weeks events. It showed that at 11.13pm every evening it was 'Disco Time'. We surmised this meant there would be a disco - possibly until midnight? Oh no...they finished the evening with a 'sing-along' of the song they sang for water aerobics...then the music went off at 11.15pm and stayed off!!!

All this goes to prove two things....never surmise anything....and never go back to this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel from 19th July for one week. Rooms were basic but clean. Hotel and food overall were good, Thomas Cook kids club was the best we have been to.
Plenty of sunbeds and location of the hotel was fab.
Travelled with my husband and 2 young children. Three out of the four of us ended up with the sickness bug, we were lucky as we didnt have to go to hospital like many other guests. I reported all 3 cases to the Thomas Cook rep but not to reception. There is no way only 13 guests were affected like the hotel has said! Every family we spoke to on this holiday had a family member with it. Whilst we were at the caribe there was no hand gel available. Overall I enjoyed the holiday but the bug put me off and I was glad to get home!

We arrived back on the 2-8-14 after the second year running at the Caribe.
This hotel is perfect for families, with a big pool, small childrens pool, Thomas Cook kids club and a park for children to play in.
The hotel is 1 minute from the beach and in the resort of Es Canar where there are shops, restaurants, bars and a nice beach where you can hire beds and parasol for 5 Euros each.
The food is excellent with plenty to choose from and I love the smell of fresh bread being cooked as you enter the restaurant.
If you liked the Grammy night the other week-I was one of the Spice Girls!
There is evening entertainment which starts with a kids disco then further entertainment nightly at 10.
Another lovely holiday, would I go back? Yes I would.
