We stayed in the Mallias Child bungalows on Gili Meno and were very happy with the hotel and the staff. We had a beach front hut with a lovely view. The hammock on the front balcony was put to good use watching and listening to the waves. Good snorkeling is literally just off the doorstep. The whole island is relatively quiet and relaxing. Would definitely repeat the stay.

We stayed at Mallias Child front row bungalows over New Years and had a great time. The staff was super friendly and the bungalows were great. I can say much about any of the bungalows situated in the back but we certainly enjoyed our stay. Especially after spending one night at Rust Bungalows where the staff was grumpy and not friendly at all. I hope Mallias Child staff keeps up the spirit they had when we were there.

Room Tip: take a front row bungalow

We stayed here for 2 nights and were robbed from our wallet in our room and we had just gone to the bar!! £120 worth of rupiah gone. We spoke to the manager who said there was nothing he could do and rudely told us it was not his responsibility. He shouted at us and called us liars. We left after 1 night and he refused to repay any of our money. Worst place I have ever stayed in my 25 years of travelling. Please do not put yourself through it! Rooms were unclean and unhygienic, noisy due to harbour and food was considerably average. I would highly recommend not staying here.

Positive: right in front of the beach, crystal clear water

Negative: dirty and run down, hardly anything was working, bathroom did not even have a sink, so you had to brush your teeth under the shower, lots of insects of all kind in the room, saw dust raining down from the roof that is being eaten by wood worms, extremely stuffy and hot at night, staff not very friendly

I can't understand how Lonely Planet rated this as one of the better mid-range options. Maybe this place was o.k. a long time ago. Unfortunately, we followed the recommendation.

We paid for three nights upon arrival, big mistake! We wanted to leave after the first night where we hardly slept at all. A refund for the following nights was refused.

After we finally fell asleep, the light went on all by itself at two o'clock in the morning and started blinking. Using the light switch you could choose between "on" and "ambulance flash light mode", so we had to screw out the light bulb.

We had way better hotels for around the same price on our trip.

Spoiled our Gili Meno trip pretty much.

We lobbed onto Meno after a few days on Gili Air and we wanted life a little more laid back, which is exactly what we got.
Gili Meno? A fantastic spot if you just want to snorkel or dive (no crowds diving here:) and kick back doing the book reading thing and watch life drift by. Gili Air looks like Time's Square in comparison, and I'm not even going to mention Trawangan.... Anyway, any more laid back and this island would fall over and sink.
So back to the accom. At thirty US a night, it is WAY too expensive for Indo, or anywhere else for that matter. It's the location that you pay for.
Look, I could go on and on about the good bits and bad bits, but look at the photo's and make your own mind up. If you want to stay 2 streets back from the beach in more "Indo Losmen" type of accom, it's about eight bucks per night.
Out of the three islands, this was the one for me........

Room Tip: Any of them, but some are like a duplex, so if you don't want a joining wall (munkin 'Bulan...

Good that its built on Gili Meno's best location; only a minute walk to harbor, restaurants and supermarket.
Compare to another bungalows which has better room, its relatively pricey.
Nice seaview right in front of bungalow but its uncomfortable bed, dirty bedsheets and bathroom can't make us stay longer.

Good news, i think their pizza is the best in island and cheap compare to another restaurants around. We ate it almost everyday, either for lunch or dinner!
And the gazebos in front of restaurant are comfort, i'd rather sleep here than inside the room. It has electric plug so we didn't worry once watching movie on notebook.

Staffs are nice, even we were no longer stay there :).
Its a pity that such a potential bungalow is not well maintained.

The setting is really wonderful looking over the beach to Gili Air and Lombok, it's a shame that the huts are not better maintained. The mattress was the most uncomfortable I've slept on (and at my age I've slept on quite a few!). With a very small outlay the guest comfort could be greatly improved The snorkeling straight off the beach is fantastic - turtles galore!
In my opinion overpriced but despite my gripes I may well go back simply because of the location and the memories it holds!
