We stayed in this accommodation for 3 nights and we booked it because it was away from the main road and was supposed to be quiet. I will say that the owners are very nice people and I enjoyed speaking with them, however, there was a lot of construction going on while we were there. This was a problem for me because I'm not a party type of person and we stayed here so that we would stay away from the noisy crowds. Unfortunately, there was a lot of noise from the construction, even on Christmas Eve, when the construction went on until 11:00pm. I really just wish that we had been warned so we could have made a change in our plans or understood the situation. Other than that, the property was beautiful and the people very pleasant. A minor complaint was that the bed did sink in the middle.

Thankyou for your review and I apologise for the inconvenience our expansion project caused to your holiday, it was scheduled to have been completed by Christmas. However I am pleased to announce that phase 1 has now been completed and we now have 2 beautiful new rooms.
I have instructed our builders that any further building works must be completed by 5pm daily and we will do our utmost to minimise the disturbance to our guests.
Once again apologies from Rumah Purnama.

First of all, I would avoid the Gilis altogether if you care about nice beaches. It is not the remote beach island utopia it is meant to be. The beaches are covered in trash and dead coral. This was really disappointing. We wished we had skipped this portion of our trip.

The hotel was under construction while we were there, and there was no "front desk" or "reception" area. So, if you needed something, you had to kind of yell into the construction zone and someone would usually come out.

Breakfast was decent but certainly nothing special.

The AC in our room never worked. They cleaned it on the first day, which did nothing. And on the third day after I complained, they were going to get a mechanic to come but he was "too drunk to awaken" so the AC was never fixed. Plus, there were no screens on the windows, so we couldn't open them because there were too many mosquitoes around. It never got below about 85F/29C at night. It was brutal.

The outdoor bathroom is nice except for the mosquitoes. The shower is cold-ish water but it feels nice after the heat there. There is a window from the room that can see into the shower, so make sure you travel with people you're comfortable with.

The courtyard area is small but nice except for the construction. Good landscaping.

The hotel itself is quite hard to find since it's not on the main "road" that circles the island. You need to turn left at the yoga studio and health station, then make a quick zig to the right and zag to the left near the thai restaurant and continue down the same direction that you had been going before all the zigging and zagging.

Speaking of location, I actually didn't mind that it wasn't on the main drag. It was quieter that way. The only problem, and it's kind of a big one, is that the side roads are all dirt, sand, and in the rainy season, mud. So you're walking through mud and deep puddles to get to and from the hotel. It's not great if you care about that sort of thing.

The hotel might be nice once they finish it and get the service level up to where it needs to be. It has potential. But for now, I would avoid it.

I am very sorry for the problems you encountered whilst staying at Rumah Purnama, and in Gili Trawangan.
Please be assured that we have done what we can to remedy the problems in our hotel. All our air con units have been serviced and are working well.
The window from the bedrooms to the bathrooms have blinds in place to ensure complete privacy whilst showering.
Phase 1 of our expansion plan is completed and I have instructed the builders to finish work daily by 5pm to minimise disturbance to our guests in any further construction.
Once again I offer our sincerest apologies.

The manager was very helpful and provided us with lots of useful information prior to our arrival, regarding boat times and prices. We were met from the boat and shown to the room. The room itself and the garden were both very nice. The bed was comfortable and the TV and a/c worked well. There were a couple of small issues with the room; the toilet did not flush easily and the bathroom door did not shut properly. The staff were very friendly. Our biggest problem was the construction, which we were not warned about. It started in the morning and continued well into the evening for the duration of our stay. We stayed over Christmas and the main reason we booked was because of the quiet location and peaceful garden. We wish we were told about the disturbance beforehand.

I stayed here with my sister for 2 nights and we love this place. The room was clean, tidy, has aircon and they also provide cable TV. Abdul the manager is quite helpful. He helped us find snorkeling tour service with good price.

Room Tip: Room no.2 is cool!

My friend and I were in Gilli Trawangan for a couple days, but after we found this place, we extended our stay to 7 days and even then we didn't want to leave. There was construction going on while we were there but it never bothered. They were respectful and wouldn't start til later in the morning and finished at a normal business hour too. We were out most of the time so we never noticed it but we even spent a day reading at the bungalow and it wasn't bothersome at all.

G and Dul were great at taking care of us. The room was clean and comfortable (the mattress was great) - perfect for 2 people, but probably not spacious enough for more. There was a flat screen TV with great reception. No WI-FI but i hear that as soon as construction is done that they will get it back. The door to the bathroom was a little tricky to close. Not being able to close it the first night let a lot of mozzies in but by Day 2 we figured it out. I enjoyed the nice open bathroom too.

We loved being served banana pancakes on our porch while enjoying coffee and reading. The main beach was maybe a 2 minute walk. We also enjoyed not staying on the main strip because it was much quieter. Dul took us on a day trip around Lombok and it was fabulous; it probably cost 1/3rd of the price too. We went hiking to waterfalls and went shopping in his local community. G was probably one of the funniest hosts I have come across too. When you stay there, hopefully you will have the opportunity to talk with him and Dul and get to know their stories.

The host at Rumah Purnama are very welcoming and open. Its important to them that you have everything you need and will even go above and beyond to show you around.

My friend and I were only planning on staying two nights at Rumah Purnama and thanks to the amazing hospitality of hotel manager Abdul and the lovely settings of the two bungalows in the village of Trawangan, we soon felt at home and extended our stay to a week.

A very short walk to the beachfront of the island and a short walk to the main bars, Rumah Purnama was absolutely perfect in terms of location and incredible value for money.

Every morning Abdul made a fab breakfast and helped us to plan any day trips we wanted to do. He even went as far as personally walking us up to the island peak so we could get the best sunset pictures. I highly recommend Rumah Purnama and would 100% stay there again. Next time! :)

Just returned from 7 nights at Rumah Purnama on Gili Trawangan and will definitely be back! The resort, located only 3 mins walk from the beach, has only 2 rooms under one roof in the style of a large villa. My room was very clean with a large comftorbal bed, spacious partial open-air bathroom, a day bed and hammock out the front to relax in. As there are only 2 rooms the resort feels very private. The local guy Abdul, who is always smiling, will cook you up a nice breakfast to start your day and will always be on hand to provide advice or help you book various activities including snorkelling/diving trips, bike hire, transport to nearby islands etc. For value for money you can't go wrong, I highly recommend Rumah Purnama!!
