Having stayed in Scallywags 2 years previously I was very disappointed to see the standards had dropped so drastically.
Scallywags has recently expanded and built new rooms. The manager ‘Brett’ explained that he had put on the extra staff to help with the increase in guests however this was not apparent.
4 days in a row we had to request (1-5 times per day) towels. Every hotel no matter how high end or budget seems to understand if you remove a towel from the room it must be replaced with a clean one.
Dirty cups would be left unreplaced until we would request from front of house to remove and replace them.
The bathrooms are beautiful (outdoors – lots of plants and lighting), it’s a shame the shower didn’t work. The pressure would completely drop off every 7 seconds for approx 4 seconds. The temperature control was a major issue too ranging from boiling hot to cold.
Having vocalised numerous other issues to management we simple got a “I didn’t know about this and will follow up” from our point of view nothing seemed to change.
It’s a shame standards have dropped so far in 2 years. This was a very well run place 2 years ago. Hopefully with the expansion Scallywags can get back on track however I won’t be recommending it to any friends.More
