This hotel was spotlessly clean , staff were a delight and the 9 days I spent there were a real pleasure . Beware of getting out the pool as its a huge step up . Breakfast by the ocean and sun beds with parasols all provided .

Room Tip: Superb base for diving as there is a dive school next door who really looked after me All rooms ha...

This hotel has great rooms, good location and very friendly staff.

The hotel is located about a 5 min walk from the main hub on Gili T or you can hire one of the bikes from the hotel and ride around the whole island.

The breakfast was good and available from 6:30 -11. There is good wifi connection which you can also access from the beach lounge.

Would recommend this hotel for your stay on Gili T

The hotel is great, the rooms fine. Pool ok but didn't swim.

We left after first night due to a bar next door who plays reggae every nite until midnight. We didn't want to spend the next 3 nights listening to this and interrupting our sleep. Don't be fooled to thinking it is far enough out of town. We went and stayed at the end of the island where the sunsets are. We stayed at Oceano jambuluwuk resort at a beach front unit. It was great and sooooooooo quiet. It was really relaxing.

The snorkelling around this part of the island is way better than the main beach area of the island.

We stayed for 7 nights. We were really happy in the beginning, it WAS indeed a nice place. However, once the novelty was gone, we then realized that the quality of everything slowly decrease over time.

Room: Modern design with several small flaws and shortcomings.

The only natural light to the room was from the porch that was already quite dark as it was covered from the path with bamboo wall. Somewhat good for privacy and mood, but the room was dark most of the time since several lamps didn't work.

There are a small shower room and a tiny toilet room that were separated with a washbasin area (that double as a small pantry to make yourself coffee or tea). However, the small fridge was not there, but inside one of the cabinet.

Inside the shower, there was nowhere to hang the towels or clothes, so you really need to adapt against the cold air of the room every time you finish showering, only to get your towel. We usually must wait around 1 minute for the water to warm up, but the flow was good. The toilet has a bit of sewer smell.

Also, it was not that easy to charge your phone, battery, etc as there was no wall socket near the bed. There was one inside the cabinet and one on the 'pantry' that was used for the water boiler or the hair dryer.

There were not much of channels available on the TV in the room, however we didn't come all the way here to watch TV.

Swimming pool area: Very nice pool, not so big, but not too small.

There was a freshwater shower next to the nice gazebo. However, after several days we realized that the pool got dirty and not cleaned, so we stopped swimming in it.

The restaurant and the beach area: Very nice location, nice beach, you can snorkel directly from the beach.

You can only choose between 3 different menu and the breakfast quality and quantity varied each day. In some days, nasi goreng were tasteless or burnt, some fruits were missing, bacon were overcooked, or the toasts were stale. The orange 'juice' was sunquick, but the coffee was always great.

For dinner and lunch, we always ate elsewhere, except the one time when it rained. We ordered calamari rings and seafood pizza. While they taste good, the portion was ridiculously minuscule and they were not cheap.

Service: Overwhelming friendly on the beginning, became slightly indifferent after a while.

The operational manager stopped being so friendly to us after we decided not to take his offer to upgrade to the suite room. Also, on the first breakfast they told me that my son's breakfast wasn't included, and must be paid extra. This however was different than what we agreed when we booked the rooms (that was paid in front!). In the end, they decided to include his breakfast and apologized. Anyway, all the staffs were friendly most of the time.

Please note that the wifi was basically didn't exist in the rooms, however the wifi in the reception was quite fast and reliable for an island standard. We also experienced two blackouts during our stay (totally normal for GIli Trawangan), but worry not, they turn on the generator in within 5-10 minutes.

Room Tip: The suite is the only room that has more than one natural light inlet.

We stayed here for 4 nights and were disappointed with the hotel considering how much we paid for it. The rooms are nice and modern and the way the rooms are is quite unique. The private beach is very nice so that was great. The location is nice too, on the main strip but far enough away that it isn't noisy.

However, the breakfast was not tasty at all and some fruit had gone off. The main lights in our room were not working which made the room very dark and despite complaining about it everyday they did nothing about it. Our bedsheets and towels were dirty and there was still toiletries in the bathroom which must have been from the last people in the room. There was also a bad sewer smell coming out of the bathroom for a day.

Overall an average hotel but not worth the money you pay for it.

After arrival on Gili T via the fast boat it was a few minutes horse and cart ride to the Vamana Resort.

The Vamana is located at the end of the main strip of restaurants and bars, this is one of the huge advantages to the resort. You are exactly in the perfect location, a few minutes from the action which makes all of the difference for extra tranquility and relax.

Upon arrival I was greeted by the lovely hotel manager who took payment and showed me around.

It's so beautiful. Very clean and with style which I didn't see anywhere else on Gili. I was thrilled when I was taken to my room. The air con is fantastic! The room very spacious and immaculate. The bed was very comfortable and you have everything you need. I was very impressed by the standard of which the rooms are cleaned to everyday which is quite necessary given the amount of sand you can bring in. Every day the bedding was fresh and the room remade exactly as it was when I first arrived.

I didn't spend a lot of time at the pool but again, it's lovely and it works perfectly that when you lose the sun on the beach at 4pm it remains at the pool for another hour and a half.

For me, the breakfast was perfect. I had fresh fruit (a big bowl of melon, pineapple and papaya) with toast and jam every morning. But there were more substantial options including eggs and bacon available. I think my only criticism of the Vamana (and I was there for 10 days) is the coffee. It's not what British class as a good cup of coffee. Alas, you can get Barrista coffee on the island so it's only a short walk if you need it.

The staff were very helpful and informative with things to do on the island and they arranged a snorkelling trip for me to the two other islands (about £5 for a full day trip)

I met lots of other people while on Gili and none where staying anywhere as nice as the Vamana. It has style and feels luxurious. Their beach is also the best spot for snorkelling and spotting turtles.

I couldn't recommend the Vamana resort more highly. A fantastic and forever memorable stay!

The hotel is quite ordinary. Everthing you could comment on is "fair" or "average". I am not saying the money l paid deserve 5 star experience. It's not that they could have done much better and put more effort for their guests...
