Have to warn about going here. It is so worn out and dirty. The staff is lazy and basically just young boys looking for fun. The pool consist of two adjacent pools. when we were there mid February one pool was without water and filled with earth, dirt and leaves. The other pool was with water but almost with just as much dirt. bed sheets were with hair and stains from previous guest - in general just disgusting. Left the place without staying overnight ans had half the money back. Walked around the island and looked at other places to stay. In general Gili is for backpackers meaning no luxury, a lot of chill out places directly on the beach, cheap food and (sorry backpackers) no high hygienic standard. However, all other places we looked at were better and cheaper than this hotel.

We spent a fabulous 5 nights at the Gili Air Hotel and loved the location and all the staff, from the GM to every member who showed genuine interest in making our stay wonderful.
Awesome location on the beach front, perfect for couples looking for a relaxing escape.
The room itself was spotless, with a balcony overlooking the pool and beach.
Yes, there were a few hiccups but they were solved with a smile.
Gili Air is Indonesia and not everything works perfectly but that is part of the charm and one of the reasons we went there.
Would definately come back and recommend to friends.

This is by far the worst "hotel" I have ever stayed at. I'm a seasoned traveler and have lived in Thailand for over 2 years, so I know what a '[--]' looks like. The staff here are rude, the accommodation is terrible and ridiculously over priced. The pool is seriously dirty, with at least 1cm of dead insects on the surface and no doubt swimming with infections! Breakfast is horrible, no selection, warm milk, soft cornflakes, my girlfriend ordered scrambled eggs, after 25mins we asked where they were?, we ordered again, another 15mins past, we got fried eggs that had been cooked into oblivion!!!....but at least breakfast is included!!!!! HA!
The toilet was built on top of an ants nest, and the hairs in the bed didn't belong to my girlfriend or myself!

There are so many other places to stay just down the beach which are infinitely better. Gili Air is beautiful and very relaxed, however this hotel ruined our stay, we left after 1 night....

"I'm a seasoned traveler and have lived in Thailand for over 2 years, so I know what a '[--]' looks like" you say.
But this is your first comment of a hotel here. Why this? Because all of us know that's everything what you wrote is not true.
In Tripadvisor everyone can see recent photos of our swimming pool and our hotel. The photos are of real travelers, not the fake people. The photos show that what you say is not true.

I've arrived to the island without a booked room.

We saw a lot of rooms, but we wanted to stay in the north part of the island, so there isn't so much offer...

Between the rooms that we saw, the Gili Air Hotel was the best for the price that we could afford.

The rooms are old and all the resort is a bit badly maintained. They have free-internet, but is very slow. The BBQ in the restaurant was good, but a little overpriced.

The location is great, very calm with beautiful sunsets. Overall it was a nice stay!

Oh dear....this place could be great but isn't. Wish we had stayed somewhere else. The air conditioning unit did not work and poured water all over my rucksack and the clothes inside, admittly some where dirty but the majority had just come from the laundry. When we advised them that we needed a new room with an a/c unit that worked and perhaps it would be decent if they washed my clothes. Well the outcome was they handed my clothes back dirty, so we asked again. So instead of being honest they just folded my clothes as if they had been laundered and returned then....rather snide. The breakfast is poor and covered in flies and the rooms are dirty and so overall it was crap...also the funny thing was when they showed us to our room, the guy tried to put together a free standing hammock and when he realized it was broken just threw it back on the ground and left it.....great first impressions...

After writing your false comment anonymously on booking.com, now you "copy and paste" the same also tripadvasor after more than five months.
We hope to never see false people like you on Gili Air and in our Hotel.
