“We lucked out at Secret Cove!"”

We just returned from Secret Cove and after doing the research, had a great time. The key is: get a tent suite on the water! And, hope that there isnt a really loud wedding party while you are there. All the reviews are true. It is " a room with a view" with an ok dining facility and spa. But if you get a tent suite, what a great room, and what a view! We loved it.

Room Tip: Insist on water view tent suite

The Rockwater rocks! This is was our third time visiting. We stayed years back when it was Lord Jim's and all they had were the cabins and lodge. They were old school, retro and cheap. The new ownership put some care and attention into creating a brand and a memorable place to stay. The addition of the safari tents and spa along with the new menu made the place an international retreat (and one of the better places to stay on the sunshine coast). Our last two times back, we stayed in the safari tents. If you luck out and get one near the water (#60), then you will be a happy "camper". There is no doubt that the lodge, cabins, and dining room all need to be brought up to the the latest century, but if you can afford it... stay in the tents - winter or summer.

Room Tip: Stay in the tents!

We visited Rockwater for the first time this June and had the opportunity to stay in both a Tenthouse Suite and a Cabin, and all in all, our experience was great. If I had to say anything, I would say spend the extra money and indulge yourself in the Tenthouse suites. Amazing views, great amenities, clean, and comfy. Well worth every penny.

The Cabin was a bit dated, and the hot water did run out after my boyfriend's 45 minute shower and did not come back even after we decided to go grab some breakfast, but it was very quaint and when I mentioned it to the staff, they were fantastic and I have been told that there will be updates taking place in the near future.

Can't wait to go back and spend a couple days, without leaving once, in one of those Tenthouses!

We recently attended a family wedding @ Rockwater. To their credit the wedding was handled exceptionally well. However once you get past the scenic beauty of the property there is nothing to command the rates they are asking. The resort rooms have not been updated in quite some time. Room 47 had no balcony access and smelled of mould and sweat. The pool heater was not functioning while we were there and grounds maintenance although adequate certainly lacked quality and pride. The staff aparently were mostly new and again were suffering from a lack of direction and leadership. With leadership it can be more than just a room with a view

First, this place is more a lodge/motel than a "resort." Do not believe the website photos and descriptions. There are none of the amenities you would expect to find at a resort charging the prices they're charging. We were offered the use of a barrel for our luggage. The rooms were dingy, with old and stained carpeting. The beds were uncomfortable. There were old-school themostats in each room, but NO A/C! We were unable to open the windows because the screens were torn or there was no screen at all and mosquitos got in.

The worst part of our stay was the poor service we received at the front desk. They were rude and not the least bit accommodating. Having traveled all over the world, this place definitely ranks as the bottom.

We ran off the get married quietly after 5 years of being together. Rock Water Resort made that happen with no hassel. We got everything set up, including the food, cake, flowers and spa. All we had to do was show up. The staff there was amazing and the food was great. It was a great split between Glamping and Vacationing. I would recommend this place any day, not only for weddings, but a short 20 minute float plane away from YVR! We will be back again soon.

Room Tip: Tent house 61 is amazing!

I didnt stay overnight at Rockwater, as I am a local on the Sunshine Coast.
I took my father in for a "dad and daughter night.."
We each had 3 courses and the chef and cooks who work in that kitchen are putting out some serious competition food! I am telling you - you need to try this menu!
We had scallops served over a yummy risotto (and my dad doesnt eat pasta!) He loved it.
I had Fresh, Saltspring Mussels, and we both had the AAA Ribeye Steak and it couldn't have been more moist, or cooked to absolute perfection, it was so tender we didnt even have steak knives..
And yummy dessert to follow, was perfectly paired with a nice glass of red!
I will be back, and I will be taking more than just my dad next time...
Plus the intimate setting in the lounge is the perfect spot for a couple to sit close and just soak in the amazing view. I am a coaster, and I will never get tired of that view!
I recommend Rockwater's dining room for the best meal in a long time.

Room Tip: Like I said I didnt stay overnight, but you can ask any staff member for help and they are pleasantl...
