I booked the cottage as a surprise weekend away for my girlfriends birthday and I have to say it is one of the nicest trips away we have ever had. Before we arrived Robert was so helpful in making sure our stay would get off to the perfect start with recommendations on places to visit and even arranged to have a bottle of champagne ready in the fridge for us when we got there!
The cottage is cosy and well equiped with everything you would need for a short trip. The crowning glory I have to say though is the hot tub in the garden - sitting out in the middle of nowhere with a glass of bubbly and the stars above you is the perfect way to spend an evening. The kitchen is also well equiped with everything you need to make your meals and the new sofa was really comfy to rest on after a long day exploring. Although we didn't spend much time in during the day if the weather was against you there is a large flatscreen TV, DVDs and games too. There are also amenities like a washing machine etc. if you are staying for longer.
Robert and David (and Jasper the dog!) were such pleasant and gracious hosts. Although they are just next door you feel like you have the place to yourself but they are always on hand if you need anything and we really enjoyed meeting them and were made to feel right at home.
We explored Rabbie Burns cottage/museum, Culzean Castle, Ayr and Troon. I wish we had been there for longer to visit more of the surrounding area! Again Robert and David can advise on how to make the most of your stay, however long you are there for. The immediate vicinity is also perfect for short or long walks along the country roads. You would never think that the place was only 30 mins or so from Glasgow - that just means that there is no excuse not to visit the cottage with how easily accessible it is! There are plenty of places within a short drive for a nice meal or shops so it really is the best of both worlds.
I wouldn't hesitate to book coming back to stay again and we were already discussing in the car on the way back when our next visit would be!
We visited over Easter weekend, Robert showed us around and was very pleasent, we were so impressed when we got into the cottage how spotless it was and they even left us a lovely message. The hot tub was a bonus and they gave us as much privacy as possible, We went with my 8 year old son who loved it also, he really loved jasper the dog he kept talking about him lol! We hope to return soon & will recommend this cottage to others. Thanks again for all your help xx

The holiday was everything we needed. Relaxing, romantic and great value for money. A clean, comfortable and lovely cottage with everything you could need. A massive TV, board games, iPhone/iPhone docking station, lots of storage, super comfy bed and lovely views and walks nearby. The location was perfect and very close to Robert Burns' birthplace, Lochwinnoch, Troon, Portencross and Lochlomond etc. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners (David and Robert) from the time we booked through to our stay. They were helpful, knowledgable and super friendly. We highly recommend this lovely place. We didn't want to leave and will definitely return. They also have the world's cutest doggy - Jasper!
We have stayed several times now in this excellent cottage.
Such a lovely quiet place to stay with easy road access to many interesting places.
The owners are always available for help and information if necessary.
We will continue to stay here if available whenever we are on holiday in this part of the country and really cannot praise this cottage enough
We stayed for a week while visiting friends and family and wanted some quiet place to relax after seeing everyone and this fitted the bill perfectly. The place had everything you could want - 2 bedrooms though we only stayed in the downstairs bedroom. Small shower room but didn't need more to be honest. Kitchen had everything you could need and we cooked in several nights. Lovely big TV with freeview. Clean and tidy. You could see the wee bunnies in the grass across the road and we also made use of the spa a couple of times too. Robert and David were great hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they even found some coconut oil for me to use for my baby! Up a short country road to the house which was off the main road which took you everywhere you needed to go. Would definately stay agsin and would thoroughly recommend.
Cottage was perfect didn't have to travel to far to get a quiet couple of days to celebrate anniversary. Hot tub perfect. Robert and David very helpful and welcoming . Excellent visit
