Went to the Kalloudis hotel the end of May this year. The rooms were big and kept spotlessly clean. I stayed in room 317, and the rooms in this part of the hotel appeared to be brand new and modern looking..The gardens were kept in great condition, as befits the gardens of a man who was a farmer. I didn't realise they did full English breakfasts in the poolside Cafe untill the last day of my stay and it was great. The owner Adonis and his wife are lovely and very friendly people. Their English isn't great so that might give some people the false impression that they don't want to talk, but if you make the effort to communicate with them you will find very friendly and great people. Their daughters are lovely and friendly people too, so if you want to know anything ask them. Vicky their daughter's English is excellent so don't be afraid to ask her anything.
If you go in May or June be aware that because of the large salt lake (Allikes) that is about a mile from the resort there may be a mosquito problem so take insect repellent and a plug in mosquito repellent for your room in the night. The resort has a very good long sandy beach, and the sea stays shallow for quite a distance making it ideal for children. All in all a great resort especially for families with children. Kos town is only about 15 minutes away by bus, and is full of lovely squares to eat and drink in, and is definitely worth a visit!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the pool have the best views.

Stayed here in September 2013, and still talk about this place to anyone who will listen, absolutely loved it! The family who run it were just amazing people, who could not do enough for you, and were so friendly we hated leaving. The rooms were spotless and really nicely decorated, kept very clean, and tidy. The pool was a great size, with a lovely snack bar beside it, prices were very reasonable and the burgers and toasties were amazing! The indoor bar looks great at night, especially when it is lit up, and the owner makes great drinks for you. There is a bus stop right outside hotel, and it is right in the heart of Tingaki, which in itself is a great place, I will definitely be going back to the Kalloudis with my family, I would go back every year if I could!

The Kalloudis is a lovely place to stay, is kept very clean and the rooms are very comfortable. Ignore the bad reviews of the Owner and his family as they are really genuinely nice people and made us feel very welcome, Adonis would always give our 3yr old a high five whatever time of day. A perfect family holiday and we will return in the future.

We stayed here for a week and thought the rooms were as well equiped as we have had anywhere in the greek islands. The family that run the place are friendly and they keep it very clean. The hotel is in a good position in the main street and close to most things without it being noisey. Our biggest complaint was the lack of water to our room at the times when you want it most, morning and evenings, I am afraid this is 2013 not the 1970's so it is not good enough!
If they get the plumbing sorted out then these could be 5 star apartments and I would recommend them to anyone.
As for Tigaki it has almost everthing you could want except character, there are much nicer resorts and Islands than Kos so I don't think we would go back.

The aparthotel is on the main road in Tigaki about 10 minutes walk from the beach. It's all very clean and modern. Our room was immaculate and equipped with an oven and grill in addition to the usual hob. There was a large fridge and decent freezer too. The room was serviced every other day, which is plenty. The pool area has loads of loungers around the large pool and again it's kept immaculately clean. The pool bar serves a good range of snacks at very reasonable prices. The hotel bar is no dearer than the local tavernas and residents gather inside and outside into the early hours. We wouldn't look anywhere else if we returned.

Adonis, the owner, speaks very little English but enjoys a bit of mime and his daughters speak fluent English anyway so communication is not an issue.

Kos generally. We found it surprisingly colourful given the time of year. That said, it does not have anything other Greek islands do not, so whilst we enjoyed our visit any further visits would be for a quick one week break rather than a main holiday. Not everyone would share that view, we met one couple for whom it was their 14th visit. The airport is a joke even by Greek island standards but maybe we hit it on a bad day. It was upsetting to see the number of businesses closed down due to the economic problems.

Tingaki. The lovely sandy beach is extensive and the water is very shallow so it's ideal for children. Being awkward, we like to swim and didn't enjoy wading half way to Bodrum but most people wouldn't object. It does get very windswept at times.

Restaurants. There are lots of them and we had mixed experiences. Nowhere was poor, just one where a swordfish steak could have doubled as a flip-flop and one, Plori, which was over-priced and unexceptional despite being recommended in a guide book. Our favourite was the Sunshine which is behind the Kalloudis near the bakery. It is sheltered from the wind, offers great food and the daughters who do the waitressing make everyone welcome.

Trips. There is a travel agent towards the beach called Theokritos. The owner's wife is English which makes things doubly easy. We did the Island Tour which we thought was a great day out much enhanced by Costas the guide. The Greek Night was also very good ( I usually hate them ). The 3 Island boat trip was very popular but beware if you don't like too much sun; there is very little shade on the boats so we skipped this one. Buses run every hour to Kos Town and cost E2 each. The castle is well worth a visit. The lady in Theokritos recommended a restaurant in Kos Town; take her advice !! Lots of people hired bikes.

Shopping. There is a large supermarket called Constantinos which stocks pretty well everything and is much cheaper than the minimarkets. It's about 5 minutes from the Kalloudis going away from the beach. On the way there is a little stall where you can buy home grown fruit and veg.

Summary. We had a lovely relaxing time in Tigaki and we think most people would like Kos.
