“Perfect honeymoon chill out destination”
Reviewed 26 November 2012

Went to the Iberostar for honeymoon in September, beautiful hotel, & immaculately clean. No qualms at all, not much to so in the way of entertainment so not great for families but ideal for us.

We had a sea view room which was a fantastic location, literally a 10 second walk to pool outside & 30 seconds to the beach. Before we went we really wanted a swim up room but now really glad we didn't as they were two blocks facing each other and in close proximity didnt look like it got too much sun. Our room was a fantastic size mini bar restocked daily. Very new looking and not tired what so ever.
We had a problem with the tap on our shower, I reported it to reception & went to room 10 minutes later and someone was already there to sort it.

Some of the staff were friendly and some just went about their work and didnt bother you but not eager to talk. Food fantastic too and plenty of choice.

Good bus service into Kos town and only about 15 minutes, only downside was the arroagance of some of the other nationalities who seem to have a problem with queues and manners!!..

Go ...its definately worth the money !

Room Tip: Standard sea view rooms every time !!

Pool lovely, weather fantastic, beach bar sweet, Family superior garden view room - rubbish, paid alot, each night the waiter was rude and in a bad mood. ,twice argued with the manager, booked as it stated dvd in the room, it didn't but they didn't do anything about it , not enough chairs on the patio for a family of 4, rude reception. view in the garden view room 415 is of the beach restaurant toilets - nice. with your window (which was broken) of the maintenance men shed. got offered to move to the room behind, but really a family with 2 small children the upheaval is too much and they could not care less. tried to pay through my credit card where they stated it was blocked, it wasnt' they then said i had spent too much on it, (impossible) spoke to my bank on my return , they hadn't tried as they thought i would not pay my card, scam, all in all rude staff DO NOT GO. no wonder Greece is in the state it is. will never return, my money is best spent elsewhere.

Dear guest,

We are very grateful that you took the time to post your comments. We have read them carefully. Your opinion is very important and valuable. We are convinced that this is the best way to gain your trust for Iberostar. It is our goal to achieve excellence in our daily work and no one better than our guests can indicate us how to improve day after day.

Regarding the room, we would like to point out that we have different types at disposal and we feel sad about your disappointment. For coming occasions, we would like to offer you a very personal booking guidance through our call center or webpage, to make sure you become what you actually desire.

Our staff which is the base to offer the close and personalized service Iberostar is famous for, always attempts that our guests feel very comfortable, well installed and welcome. We lay high value on our employees being guest orientated, as we understand that this is a prime factor to achieve maximum client satisfaction and therefore all staff members are chosen according to a specific profile and additionally they are given appropriate training. Being this one of our main strengths, we are awfully sorry you could not enjoy their professionalism and the incident with the credit card overshadowed your stay.

On the other hand, we are glad to read that you could enjoy our fantastic location, beautiful pool area and lovely beach bar. It is always wonderful that our guest take some beautiful holiday memories back home.

Once more we want to thank you for having shared your opinion, rest assured it will help us to improve. We hope to may receive you soon and surprise you positively offering a perfect holiday!

Yours sincerely,

I have just returned from a very relaxing weeks stay at the Iberostar Odysseus. We booked a seaview room which also overlooked the swimming pool, beyond which was a small beach.
The room was kept spotless during our stay and towels were changed on a daily basis. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the safe deposit box in the room was free of charge as was the fridge (which was restocked with soft drinks water & beer on a daily basis). There was satellite television in the room which over 30 channels however only 3 of these were in English. The food was a bit repetitive, but you could always find something to your taste. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful during our stay. For a forty euro deposit you could hire beach towels which you then changed at the spa on a daily basis. There was a daytime entertainment programme which consisted of (water aerobics, archery, shooting, zubma ect) which was good, however the evening entertainment could have been improved. I found the gym to be very good filled with very good quality equipment. The hotels location is a bit isolated, however the local bus service stops right outside the front of the hotel and the return journey into Kos town is only 3 euros.

I stayed at the Iberostar with my wife between 15th September and 22nd September 2012. The hotel and the saff were excellent and the meals were also very good. The hotel appears to have been aimed at the European market as it did not appear in either the 2012 or 2013 Thomson brochures. The entertainment tam worked very hard but explaining what was about to take place became laborious when you had to endure it being repeated in English, German, French, Dutch (possibly Flemish???? I don't know) Russian and Slovak.
While I like to get away from those Brits who crave nothing more than a luke warm pint of Boddingtons in a make believe British pub, the lack of British tourists at the hotel did detract from the holiday.
There were 2 main low points of the week, one relating to a stoutly built Greek security guard who will appear from nowhere and was overly attentive towards British guests. And the 2ND related to the final day when we'd requested to keep our room on until 8pm as we had a late nightflight back to the UK. We were initially told that our room was needed for new guests and that we could have an half hour slot in one of the hotels rooms but this would not be allocated until the evening of our departure. When we went to the main reception desk for the room key we were informed that we could use the shower facilities in the Hotels Spa complex on the lower ground floor. This was less than ideal bearing in mind that all of our valuables and pasports were in the main changing area as we were being showered and I would not have been impessed if i'd paid to use the spa facilities and was surrounded by hoards of people struggling to get dressed for their evening meal. Overall a very poor start and finish to an otherwise enjoyable and relaxing week. A HOTEL WHICH CLAIMS TO BE 5* SHOULD DO BETTER THAN THIS FOR IT'S GUESTS!!!!!

Room Tip: Don't boter upgrading to a junior suite unless you're planning on taking your entire family...

Went away to relax and unwind and this hotel made it happen. Having the choice with the two mains pools was brilliant as the pool near the main part of the hotel was relaxed and was never too busy. I would say that the buffet for lunch and dinner in the main restaurant was very repetitive so would recommend to mix it up by having the lunch at the beach Grill Restaurant And the dinner at the main restaurant. The hotel has a company where you can hire out bikes, quad bikes, mop heads, bicycles and buggy's for next to nothing money. Me and my partner hired the buggy for around €50 for the whole day and went to a village up the mountain called Zia (very quaint little village) and also drive round the otherwise of the mountain to Therma (the sea is heated by the gas within the mountain) great views and lovely experience.
