“Great holiday, lovely hotel and staff”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

Stayed here June 2014.
Lovely hotel although a bit disjointed as there was some waste land to the left with goat's and sheep which was quite amusing and what looks like land that's being developed to the right which was in the way of my so called "sea view".
However the room was nice, very clean and surprising quiet and noise at night was not a problem.
The restaurant was spotless and the food was a high standard the staff all work so hard. The a'la carte was also very good and well worth booking.
The house wines very of a high standard and beer and cocktails also good.
The hotel shop was small but very reasonable and the lady who runs it really nice.
The animations team were good and did everything from towels, mini club, aqua aerobics, pool side activities and evening entertainment. Kasha and francesca were great and my daugher loved them.
We really enjoyed our stay, if you want a quiet get away from it all hotel then this is for you, if you want a lively nightlife then it's not, a bus into kos is 2 euro and right outside the hotel and a taxi back is 12 euros.
I hope you find this useful.

We spent 1 week at the Astir Odysseus and I really loved this place. As we planed to relaxe during our time there we booked a room with shared pool. That means you just went out of your room and could jump into the pool directly from your terrace.

The room was not really nice and the housekeeping did a great job all week long. Also the restaurant was awesome. We booked halfboard for the time there and it was a fantastic buffet every evening. The breakfast served something for everyone and with the friendly service it was always the best start and the perfect finish for a day.

As the hotel is out of town we hired a scooter for one week and you can explore the island without any problem.

I highly recommend the hotel and hope to come back one day. THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT TIME!

Room Tip: Get a room with sharing pool!

From the movement we arrived, the staff were friendly and so so helpful. The reception staff helped us with our bags, and delivered them to the room. The bar staff, especially Aris, remembered our drinks throughout the week, and even delivered them to our table wherever we sat. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, and it worked. The restaurant staff were attentive without being overbearing, and made sure we had wine and water at every sitting, and a full supply of coffee and tea at breakfast. The room we had included a private pool, and everyday the room was spotlessly cleaned, beds made, fridge stocked, and towels replaced. A big thank you to the domestic staff.
The setting is on the coast overlooking the sea towards Turkey, and affords great sunsets from the beach, at the bottom of the complex. It's only a short drive from the airport, so you don't spend hours on the bus either.( 20 minutes). The hotel has facilities to hire bikes, motorbikes and cars, and it's worth hiring one at €5 to take the very flat road along the coast to Tigaki, or even 20 minutes to Kos town. The evening entertainment is great, with no pressure to get involved, but there if you want to.
In summary, the hotel is spotless, the staff are fantastic, the food is great, the pools are plentiful and clean, there are more sun loungers than people, and if the management are to believed, in that they've only taken this hotel on this year, then they've done a great job, and things can only get better. We came here with Jet2, and got a great deal.

Room Tip: We had room 426, with a private pool. Very private and close to everything

We have recently come back from the Astir Odysseus in Kos and had a great time. We booked a swim up pool and it was lovely. The hotel is spotless and the pools are big and spacious with plenty of room for everyone. Although the hotel was full it still felt really relaxing and the staff couldn't do enough for you. The animation team were great, really friendly but not pushy if you didn't want to join in with the daily activities. There isn't anything nearby but the bus stop is just over the road and the buses are regular to Kos town. You could get fresh towels every day for around the pool which was great. The food in the restaurant was lovely and we didn't get bored as there was always a big choice at meal times. I would highly recommend this as a good hotel for all ages but if your looking for night life outside of the hotel then look for something closer to the town. For us as a relaxing family holiday with first class service then this is the hotel for you.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a great outlook, either the pool or across the sea, you won't be disappointed...

This hotel was a wonderful experience for us. From arriving at the reception to leaving everything was spot on and if it wasn.t it was sorted immediately.
If there were any small matters there were just two. The staff in the restaurant do not seem to engage with the customer as well as the rest of the hotel ,however, having said that they are efficient and very well mannered. The evening entertainment was basic and could be much better.
The rest is just sensational. The food was always of good choice and hot., The bar service- What a great team they are in the bar at the Astir Odysseus. The inclusive package was good value- The reception team efficient and always there to help. The SPA is disappointing as they only take cash so I had to cancel my appointment- As with most hotels these facilities tend to be franchised out - They need to sort this. We were there mid May. I will definitely return

There would be one reason to go back to this resort, the local animation team. without this team our holiday would not as good as it was. this hotel is not child friendly, pool starting at 55cm / 150inchs and loud outside music up to 2200CET and lack of baby chairs (just 4). food not that spectacular and the location is not that central. the beach is with rocks(no sand) and not a focus item of this hotel, they rather focus on the pools. Spa completely waste of money. oke some "good" points. friendly personal, clean rooms and a bus stop just in front of the hotel to take you to Kos in less then 15 min (just a 2 euro investment)

Room Tip: don't let the "suite" statement fool you, these are just rooms with in the hallway and...

I'm a bit late leaving this review.....

We stayed here in October 2013 for 10 days on an All Inclusive basis and had a fantastic time!

Upon arrival (at some ridiculous time of night!) there were pre-made rolls available for us at reception. The check-in was flawless and quick.

As it was near the end of the season the hotel was nice and quiet (exactly what we wanted) although the weather could be a little changeable. In particular the wind did whip up so we found ourselves building wind barricades out of sun umbrella's when we were laying by the pool - but it was all fine. The pools were a little chilly as the summer heat had disappeared by then but a few people were venturing in (brave soles!).

Rooms
We upgraded to a sea view and had a really large double room overlooking the pool and sea. It was spotless and had a large living/sleeping area and balcony. The mini bar was stocked daily and room cleaned to a high standard (The whole hotel was spotless). The only thing I found a little odd was that the hotel (at that time) could not offer an ironing board...just an iron which I had to use to iron something on the bed. A little strange for a 5* hotel I thought but they may have got one by now :-).

There were lots of different room types available and in particular, the swim up rooms looked amazing! I would love to stay in one of those in the future! The rooms all had the heat/blackout curtains which was great (even if it did make waking up in the mornings a challenge!).

Food
Excellent! My husband is not a fan of AI's unless the food is very very good and we had checked out other reviews on there before booking - the hotel didn't disappoint. There is absolutely something for everyone! I was pregnant at the time of going and there was loads that I could eat.

Main Restaurant
** Breakfast had everything imaginable and an 'omelette chef' - you can also have sparkling wine with brekky!
** Lunch had a good variety and we could also have lunch down by the pool/beach in the tavern - lots of Greek salad, bread, olives and cooked meats etc
** Dinner - again very very good with lots of different dishes available. The highlight though was the pancake chef and he always had a queue....we regularly had more than 1 !

A la Carte Restaurant
Again, very good. We went there a few times during our stay and sampled both the Greek and Italian evenings they offered. It was 4 courses though so go there hungry! You need to pre-book to go through reception and we did this on our first day. There was also no limit (at that time) to the amount of times we could go there.

Rolls, cake, tea etc are also available in the main bar area around lunch time and later in the afternoons - again all very good but I'd advise getting there early for that!

Drinks
Now this was interesting.....Its AI but you need to read the drinks menu to work out exactly what is / isn't included (The menu had symbols on it) and I found it all rather confusing. Milkshakes you had to pay for but cocktails you didn't (!?). Also, some branded drinks were included. I found it easier to just ask at the time if what I wanted was included. Wine served with dinner was perfectly drinkable and you could also order Cava/sparkling wine which again was good.

Entertainment
As we went towards the end of the season the entertainment was probably scaled down a bit. However, the 3 entertainment guys were brilliant and particular thanks to Leo (applauso!) who made our stay very entertaining! They really did try hard to get people involved and we joined in with riffle shooting (badly!) and crazy darts (even worse!). The evening entertainment was as you would expect and good for a laugh.....

Towels
The hotel provides pool towels and you can obtain these from the Spa area. A deposit is required which you get back upon return of them. You can change the towels as required.

Getting out and about
We hired a car one day and again it was made really easy by the lady working on the hire car desk. It was delivered and collected from the hotel and we went out and about to see the island. We found the beach with the hot springs (be prepared for a long walk DOWNHILL to these - and back up!) and it is worth a visit. We also went to Kos town a few times and wondered around the streets and found some great restaurants.

All the staff at the hotel were brilliant. They always had time to chat and answer any questions/offer advice etc.

Overall, would we go back...? Definitely!

Enjoy!!!!!
