Where to start !
Well the staff where really hardworking ,polite and thoroughly welcoming especially the Lithuanian lad on the pool bar section , florin and the young lad on the keyboard in the lounge bar also ( this lad was always working hard ) , the staff in the restaurant where always attentive and alaways smiley, the hotel itself was a 6 out of 10 to be honest and could really do with some TLC it was clean and comfy but paying extra for AC is not right especially when it's all inclusive ? , but we managed with a fan we brought with us , its location is not very good though due to its distance from tigaki itself but to be honest the resort isn't worth visiting IMO , the food well it's all inclusive and we paid less than £400 for 2 and so it's really nit picking , breakfast don't bother absolute rubbish most of the time the toaster did not toast and more geared to the continentals who seemed to wolf it down " pigging out " springs to mind ! , the lunch and dinner where always good no very good , so really it was really good value for money , the hotel is geared to the Germans mainly and you could see this in the way Dimitria Interacted with her Germanic guests rather than her "other" guests , well she is Greco Germanic so makes sense but the difference is very stark ! , would I return "NO" why the Mosquitos are nightmare here ! The whole tigaki region is overwhelmed with the nasty buggers, it's nearly impossible to go out after sunset without a litre of "Avon skin so soft " applied ! , I'd not be returning to the area not a chance .
Oh and the drinks (alcoholic beverages ) are not what they seem IMO they are poor quality or just watered down people where going into tigaki to buy alcohol to consume in their rooms ! Not good but again its AI so what would you expect ? , so sorry Kos I will not be returning

Room Tip: We stayed in room 110 and was ok so presumably rest would be similar

Returned from here last Sunday (18/5) after a very relaxing week.Checked in just after 2PM and the restaurant had closed but Demetria (?) on reception rang and arranged for a cheese/ham salad butty to be brought to reception :)
I was given room 120 which is above the reception/bar area with a balcony and views to the left of the mountains and sunset to the right in the evening.Might be noisy here later in the season but it was very quiet this time of year so no problems.Double and single bed probably with limited storage space if 3 people but I was on my own.
The all inclusive bar is as already suggested by many people pretty limited in choice but I was quite happy with beer and the occasional Ouzo..I was tempted to think the brandy was watered down as after several beers one evening topped off with 5 seemingly double brandy/cokes I was still walking in a straight line...
Breakfast was adequate.. already covered by many people.. you are not going to get a "full english" here.. there are cereals toast/jams selection of luncheon type meat..cheese slices..salad,croissants, random egg variations..beans/tomato and "bacon" a couple of days.If you want a nice "english" breakfast go to Rodini restaurant.. right out of the hotel..first right.. all the way to the main road and turn left and about a minute or so on the left..excellent brekky for 5E
The main meals again were "adequate" a good choice of salads, some pasta..tzatziki..they had fish dishes most days..chicken 1 day.. a lamb curry..a small selection of deserts.. nothing special but they fill a hole.
Turn right out of the hotel and there is a bus stop on the corner which takes you to Kos town 2E..turn right at bus stop carry on to the main road and turning left takes you down to the bars/restaurants/nice beach (about 10/15mins).Turn right at the main road and there is a large supermarket about 100yds up which sells ermmm.. allsorts !! Much cheaper than the mini markets.
The hotel is not really the 3/4 star it claims to be but I was paying £22 a night to be fed and watered(beered) with a fairly pleasant room to sleep in. If you want 4/5 star pay for it !!

This hotel is not 4 star possible 3 star. The hotel was very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful. the rooms basic and very clean, TV very limited channels. BBC world (all about USA). The hotel is geared for Germans and Dutch, The food was very basic but tasty, except for breakfast which for english customers was Eggs Eggs and more Eggs, each day they were cooked different, one day boiled the next fried and the next omelette. One choice each day and of course cheap Beans. all the rest was salad. The All Inclusive was very bad. No Gin, Vodka, Rum, or Whisky. That could be purchased at the exclusive bar for approx 4.50 euros per drink but was closed for the complete two weeks. There is only tea and cake from four to five in the afternoon, no other food, if you miss your meal time that is it, no food outside meal times. No late snack.

My sister and me have visited Greece on several occasions but this experience was second to none. In essence the hotel reception staff in particular "Maria" have no idea how to communicate and extend the basic common courtesies to visiting overseas guests. Insulting and shouting at guests whose flight is 2.00am in the morning and are turfed out of their room by midday (regardless of your late check out) and woe betide if you happen to be away from your room your personal belongings are stuffed into your suit cases and moved without your knowledge or permission.

Forget a courtesy room to shower and change in you will be invited to use the shower in the public toilets in the reception area,

The food is barely edible and of the a cheapest money could buy Asda basics would put this food to shame the plus side there are some very nice local restaurants nearby AIl Inclusive means cheap nasty food and cheap cheap cheap nasty alcohol use the paying bar if you value your liver

I would urge you to think long and hard before embarking on the night mare of Hotel Illios aka
Hotel Ill Repute.

well we booked our first holiday together very excited at the ilios hotel in tigaki ,it stated the hotel was four star but was def a 2star we arrived at the hotel at 10 30 pm 0n the 11 sept and was given a roll in cling film which we were not impressed at .then we were shown to our room which was nothing like what we had asked for we paid extra 60 pounds each for a top balcony poolside view with terrace . instead we got what looked like a run down very old tired apartment not even attached to the complex the outside was rubble the fence broken and a load of junk dumped at the side of the apartment which was dangerous ..on entering the apartment we found a leaking fridge which didnt look nice a broken shower and the kitchen was in the bedroom!the light fittings were broken and there were ants all over.this was not what we expected,we went to see the receptionist next morning who just said she couldnt do anything as hotel was fully booked and would have to come back at the weekend she was very rude and unhelpful there was a german couple who had had the same room and the same thing happened he told us to keep going back and complaing, for 4 days we were stuck in that dump and was left,we went back at the weekend to be moved to which
demetria informed us we had to wait as she was busy she then told us a room had become available but to our dismay was walking into another nightmare as the couple who was leaving the apartment were moving hotel as they werent happy at the ilios because of the noise next door so we went back to reception and said we would not go into that apartment from one nightmare to another so then we waited another hour to be moved to a room which was better but not what we paid for toilet not working front door not locking and no hot water we complained and still no hot water we stayed in the room as it was better than the other one,the food was boring as the hotel no entertainment no atmosphere very run down, and only seemed to cater for the germans very few english,it is definately NOT all incl as stated on their website and brochures, not good for families as no kiddies creche the parents have to be with the children all the time,to me the hotel is advertising NOT what it is and they are taking our money it is a 2 star hotel not 4 star.we spoke to a number of people who said they had rang the hotel and said it was 3 star and then rang again and said it was 4 star.which is lies.we have been on many holidays and this was the worst in thirty yrs we ve both had stomach problems and bitten by mosquitos feel let down and seeking some form of compensation as the hotel is not what it says it is,we have learnt a very strong lesson always double check the rating of the hotel and its always better to pay that little bit more with a travel agent and go for 5 star.

Room Tip: dont pay any extra for pool side or terrace as you wont get it

I know you get what you pay for, especialy in this instance, (although I have paid less and got better on previouse holidays), we arrived quite late at the hotel Illios (10 pm), and where pretty gutted at our room, (151) this room should not be sold by the hotel, it is staff room quarters, it was not like the pictures on the web site, no windows, no cupboards, no working tap in the bathroom and a very nasty leak that flooded all our clothes, on complaining to Demetria at reception, we where informed that we where stuck in this room for two days and then would be relocated to a proper room, we had to accept this, ( this lady was extremely unhelpful ), so a bad start, they did find us a propper room (two days later) which was lovely and clean, O.K so a very bad start to a long awaited holiday, after that all was good, food is O.K, very much the same each day, lots of maionaise, drinks are basic beer & wine, (ouzo & brandy), but we knew that, and entertainment is non exisitant, you get one night a wk of a guy on a guitar, (he is really good though), the walk to the beach is very nice, lovely shops, bars etc.. pool area is good, always found plenty of loungers, we had a nice time but would not return.

just returned from the ilios. would defiantly recommend. as most other reviews state rooms were large and clean. hotel, pools and restaurant very well maintained. food was very nice and fresh. typical Greek food(don't expect burgers and pizza).lots to choose from( I think I put on a few pounds). hotel, bar and restaurant staff work very hard and should be commended for that. all inclusive alcoholic drinks were a bit limited. Aug is very hot and waiting for the shuttle bus too and from the beach can be hard on the little ones, but the bus driver did his best to get every one back quickly(you can get a taxi for six euros) .beach very nice with big soft sunbeds (5 euros for 2 with parasol).
fantastic views of the mountains from the pool. mixed clientele, mainly German, everyone relaxed and unobtrusive. two pools one quite, one lively with swim in Jacuzzi. Two baby pools with small slides. we stayed for I week, returning for two weeks next year. Olympic holidays were very good with our disabled son. discounted booked seats on plane and we were first through passport control at kos airport. Olympic rep at resort was not very good.
