Puerto de Mogan is a great holiday destination if you want some peace and quiet. It's a nice and relaxing area (apart from Market Day on Friday) with plenty to see and do. The Hotel is lovely decorated, very up to date and in touch with the fishing community. We stayed in Room 101 which could be a little noisy in the morning with everyone walking past and into the building for breakfast. And the room we were in looked out onto the marina was super - a real treat to see the sun set with all the lovely boats in the marina. As a young couple travelling, it was slightly off putting that there were a lot of older couples and groups staying at the hotel as we felt a bit out of place.

Breakfast was super, a great choice of food for all ages. I would say that the evening meal was good and there was a variety of food to eat but I think that if we had not eaten out a couple of times then we would have gotten very bored of the food. Also, it sometimes felt like a canteen when it got busy. Did not feel that it was a very formal sit down, with some wearing shorts and tshirts at night when the hotel requests trousers and shoes.

The pool is and outside area is lovely with sun loungers, however I have to agree with the other reviews and say that it was very annoying that some people would leave their towels on the loungers when it specifically says you are not permitted to reserve them (especially when they don't appear to use the sun loungers until 11am!)

The service we received during our stay was superb! Receptionists were ALL an asset, all speaking a variety of languages to accommodate and were very helpful.

Safety deposit was two euros per day and a six euro deposit. And for those reviewers that complained - surely better to pay twenty euros for a weeks visit to know that all your belongings are in safe keeping.. Especially when the maid forgot to lock our patio door (which looks out onto the front of the hotel) and anyone could have walked in.

Surrounding area is super, definitely recommend going to Aqualand, a bit overpriced (and DO NOT buy the beer, a total rip off if you want a day out on the water slides) but it is a nice get a way for the day. And if you venture to Playa del Ingles afterwards, you will definitely appreciate the peace and quiet you get when in Puerto de Mogan. But there are definitely a good few more commercial things to do in Playa del Ingles and it costs approx thirty five euros for a taxi from there to Puerto Mogan at night time.

Bus drivers are maniacs, so if you are suffer slightly from travel sickness I would recommend a sick bag or not eating straight before the bus journey (or at least until the new motorway opens!).

I would definitely recommend going on the glass bottom ferry (which really isn't that glass bottomed) to Puerto Rico / Anfi / Arguiniguine. Puerto Rico has lots of lovely little cocktail bars and pubs which we thoroughly enjoyed. Anfi is very picturesque and looks very posh. And Arguiniguine is less so, with its dark black sandy beach and is a little more "run down" in appearance than the others. But it is a worthwhile trip. Cost us twenty euro return for two to puerto rico and then same again to arguiniguine.

Overall a lovely hotel and a great area. Definitely having Post Holiday Blues and would love to return some day soon...

This was our second stay, the first was in the hotel. This time we opted for the apartments following good reviews and a visit on our previous stay. We were not disapointed as we picked a first floor apartment No.222. Very high standard of equipment in room including an ironing board which was unused and the best air conditioning I have ever came across which was remote controlled and very handy if you get too warm lying in bed. One flight of steps took you to your own roof patio well equiped with loungers, tables and chairs although getting old still servicable and a shower should you overheat. Beautiful views of flower covered roof tops and marina and sea. Double verandas a small one off the bedroom overlooking garden the other with table and chairs overlooking the street. We prefered the apartment to the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed the short walk to the hotel past the marina to feed the fish on the way for breakfast. Cant wait to go back.

Room Tip: Once booked e/mail reception with choice of 2-3 aparments you would prefer. You cant go wrong with 1...

This is the second time we have been to this hotel, we stay in the apartments which are situated around the harbour, we did try to book the one we had the previous year buit were dissapointed to find we had been put in a different one. It was nearer the boat yard so it was a bit noisy but that did not bother us too much as we were out most of the day. We used the swimming pool nearer to us as the hotel pool was always busy, guests putting towels on the sunbeds first thing in the morning and then leaving them was very annoying, we did mention it to the manager who directed us to the pool attendant who did nothing. The apartments are very nice and the air conditioning was a godsend, one in the main room and one in the bedroom. The hotel has been redecorated and is fantastic, the receptionist Renate was very helpful and pleasant, definately an asset to the business. If you hire a car beware of the traffic wardens they put tickets on your car even though you are in a permitted parking slot. The restaurant is lovely and has a lot of choice for breakfast and dinner, and the views over the sea are amazing. Overall it is a fabulous place and good value for money and we will definately be returning soon.

Room Tip: You don't always get the room or apartment you book.

Second year of visiting this resort. Most rooms are actually apartments based around a courtyard which last year we found to quite noisy and potentially you are overlooked by up to 12 apartments! This year we had an apartment that overlooked the street rather thatn the courtyard. (Apt 264) This is an ideal apartment if you want to be alone and not having to be seen! As an aprtment it provides, air conditioning, towels and a tea towel but if you intend even having a cup of tea you will need a washing up sponge and washing up liquid! They do not provide soap/shampoo. Air conditioning is free but you have to pay for the safe! ( 2 euros a day!) The apartment size was roughly 192 m sq.
Buffet breakfast and dinner were good but di feel a little like a canteen.

Room Tip: If you like peace and quiet book a room with balcony facing the street!

Have just returned on the 7th October and have booked again with Thomas cook for next year. Location of the hotel is excellent - Puerto Mogan is very pretty and a low key resort except on market day which is Friday - but the market is excellent. We requested room 217 but were given 219 which was even better as it had views of the marina and the beach and we have requested this for next year. Staff were very friendly food had improved on the previous year and was acceptable. The Irish Tavern just along from the hotel was very good staff were very friendly and the guinness to less than my husbands local. There are no late night bars of night clubs near the hotel which suits us as we go away to chill out and relax. We are looking forward to going back next year Lovely view of the Atlantic ocean from the dining room

Room Tip: odd numbered rooms overlook the marina and even numbered room the pool area and the sea.

We stayed at this hotel for a week from 8th to 15th September. Just myself and my husband looking for total rest. We arrived late at night and had to stay in apt for that night. Strange that it also happened to about 6 other bookings but it didn't affect our stay.

We had requested a room with sea view and were not disappointed. The rooms are very modern and spotless clean. Reception could do with a few pictures as its a bit bare when u walk in and we thought it might not be a great hotel. First impressions!

We were on half board so had breakfast every morning and there was a great selection. We ate dinner for a few nights only as we love to sit down and enjoy a nice meal so we didn't really like the buffer idea. That said there was a great selection of food so we could have eaten there every night.

A great place to go for a nice relaxing break. Beautiful pool and you can't beat its location in beautiful Mogan.

The hotel has the best location of all the hotels around Mogan. Check in was fast and very comfortable and the rooms are vey good.We had a hotel room would not have settled for an apartment going by other reviews, breakfast was good and dinner was just OK. The swimming pool is small but the views around the pool are breathtaking. Staff are good and the spa staff are very good so all in all a great holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view.
