“One of the best hotels in Macau”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

This was my first trip to Macau with my family. It is the perfect hotel for a family that wants to have a good balance between gambling at the casinos and relaxing at one of Macau's finest properties.

We were initially unhappy with the wait at the ferry terminal for our bus - it was a hot day! to the bus guy not helping us with our luggage. While checking in we were upgraded and the suites we were given were lovely! Warm and inviting rooms, the space was truly amazing. The level to which care is taken care of the guests is what defines luxurious international properties like this. Hotels like these raise the bar when it comes to international luxury hotels. Every single staff member was helpful and went beyond necessary means to get us what we wanted. Amazing hotel and incredible hospitality. If I ever come back to Macau there is only one place I am staying - the Four Seasons!

We had great pre-arrival communication from Julieta and from the moment we arrived until we departed the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The luxury bus that transfers pax every 1/2 from Cotai ferry to the hotel set the tone for our 3 kids - they felt pampered from the beginning and despite being a little old to seek our stuffed animals, they were delighted with their Four Seasons Rabbits and impressed that staff knew their names. Our connecting rooms were huge and well equipped and the although the view is nothing special, it gives an indication of how much bigger the city will be next time we visit. The pools are plentiful and give a great 'private resort' feel, with free use of cabanas and decent pool side food options. Service was a bit slow in the pool area, but maybe we were just thirstier than usual given the heat. Room service was efficient and the kids dined well, my husband and I ventured over to City of Dreams for dinner and a casino visit. It's a 10-15 min outdoor or subterranean walk to City of Dreams, but a taxi or shuttle seemed like overkill. Four Seasons Macau was average looking on the outside (but a beauty in comparison to The Venetian) but the interior is opulent and serene and a refuge from the hordes of guests/visitors to the Venetian hotel and casino. The ferry service direct from Macau to check-in at HK airport is efficient, reasonably priced and highly recommended. As is an upgrade to first class on the Cotai ferry if you are returning to HK island - if just for the chance to get off first and join the immigration lines before economy class passengers. We loved the Four Seasons Macau, we couldn't fault anything.

This was my first visit ever to Macau and the purpose was to see first-hand the incredible transformation of Macau into the world's largest gaming center in such a short span in time. I was not interested in gambling so we looked for luxury hotels without a casino: the Four Seasons and the Mandarin Oriental (in old Macau, not at Cotai and a bit away from center of activity) -- the only other real luxury hotel in 2014 is the Wynn in old Macau but it has a casino (the Wynn Palace on Cotai is under construction). Located on the Cotai Strip (which was literally created out of swamp land), the Four Seasons lived up to the familiar Four Seasons standards of service, luxury and the "relative quiet" we were looking for. This hotel is connected seamlessly via its own luxury shops to the Venetian Hotel & Casino -- smart because it offers easy access to gaming and yet maintain its own oasis of calm, class and luxury. We found the staff to be very accommodating, responsive and friendly -- no English language issues at all. The coffee shop offered a wide variety of foods prepared at very good (fresh) standards and a very accommodating wait staff. Its Chinese restaurant (Michelin starred) was excellent in authenticity, quality and super service -- great decor. We had afternoon coffee/tea at another place (can't remember the name) and enjoyed the atmosphere, beverage and snacks there. We had an excellent massage therapist, Joy, at its luxurious and spacious Spa -- and the Spa staff from the front reception and the attendant in the locker were very professional and friendly. Even though we did not stay at the other 2 top luxury hotels, we visited several other casino hotels out of curiosity -- as seasoned travelers we thought the Four Seasons on Cotai really stood out in aspects which were important to us, and we concluded this was the only hotel for us if we come back to Macau.

Celebrating our 5th year anniversary with a trip to Hong Kong and Macao, my wife and I were truly impressed with our experience at Four Season Macao. We were married at the Four Seasons in Buenos Aires--what better way to commemorate this special occasion then with a return to one of Four Seasons' properties.

Check in. Kazuhiko and Margie truly set the tone, we were early, having spent the previous night on the Macau Peninsula for fear of missing something if we only came to Taipa and had not had a pleasant experience. We were immediately upgraded and Kazuhiko escorted us upstairs. Kazu, as he asked us to call him, was charming, helpful and truly follows a standard of excellence that is commensurate with the Four Seasons’ brand. Elliott Wang was also someone we enjoyed interacting with. He always remembered our names and was kind enough to offer suggestions and advice about our stay both in Macao as well as Hong Kong.

The Room. Exceptional suite! Leaving no detail overlooked, Kazu had a transformer brought up so that my wife was able to use her 120 volt curling iron…nice touch. After a bad experience in Florence with the last one, I was pleased to have any problems in this regard avoided. It was the little touches that made all the difference…having access to coffee in the room when we wanted, the slippers beside our bed in the evening, and the western newspapers delivered to our door…all made for an enjoyable stay.

The Spa. Ivy made our spa experience. She greeted us with a warm smile, always remembered our names and went way out of her way to see to it that our experience while using the spa was a special one. My wife has a great deal of tension in her neck and shoulder area and she doesn't always take care of herself despite my encouragement. Ivy convinced her to have a massage and it helped a great deal. Ivy truly enjoys her job and it shows.

Concierge. Jenny, at the concierge desk took care to see to it that we had dining reservations and ate at some of the best restaurants in town. She was also a terrific help in reserving our seats for the plane ride home.

I lived in Shanghai from 1998-2000 and have spent the better part of the last decade traveling throughout Mainland China. However, this was our first experience in Macao and frankly, I had modest expectations. What impressed me most was the extent to which the staff, with their uniformly pleasant attitudes, have an understanding of what luxury on an international scale means. In a city and country that is new to world-class accommodation, Four Seasons Macau sets a standard for luxury globally.

From two discriminating customers with a high level of expectation, we were indeed impressed.

Thank you Four Seasons Macao. We will be back!

Beeing lucky enough to have stayed already several times at Four Seasons Macau, and always forget to write a review, it's about more than time to do so. Despite the hectic gambling atmosphere in Macau this hotel is just the heaven of piece in the midst, thus centraly located next to the Venetian and CIty of Dreams for shopping and entertainment. Staff and service provided are not only outstanding for Macau, but also for the rest of the world. From arrival to check out, you only encounter the most friendly, helpful staff you can only wish for. As for myself als a repeat guest, they know me by name from the moment I arrive, know my husband's name (even if he is not with me like during my most recent stay) and just make you feel like you come back home. The pool area is outstanding, service there provides everything you can think off from sun lotion to f&b, magazines, comfortable sun beds, even bungalows which spend shadow equiped with TV. If you need more relaxation, have a treatment at the Spa, which, not surprisingly, offers highly trained staff to provide perfect Spa moments. Normally I'm not a big fan of breakfast buffets, except here. Superb layout, everything you could demand from western and asian cuisine, a lovely area to enjoy breakfast outside - the perfect way to start the day. To sum is up - if you go to Macau, this is the hotel to go.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor for the view, and as constructions are going on all the time in Macau somewhere...

Weekend trip with my family (all of us 21+), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our suite was excellent and extremely spacious- it would be quicker to call the other room than to walk to it! Comfortable beds and peaceful nights rest. Adored the details: delicious welcome basket, we were provided drivers to chauffeur us into the city etc.

Luxury goods stores, great local foods for those in our group who weren't interested in the casinos. Looking forward to our next stay here.
