Was looking for a "memorable" place to eat for our last night in Macau, and of course we turned to TripAdvisor :-)
We called in for a reservation an hour before our planned 8 pm dinner. They told us that all the window tables were taken already but that they could give us a "second row" table. Having made a reservation at such short notice, we accepted the table that was offered.
When you arrive at the place you will immediately notice the warm, cozy and elegant ambiance. This is a very nice and expensive looking restaurant!
Upon reaching the place, the receptionist led us to our "second row" table (meaning one row removed from the window table). It was a booth - type of seating, giving all 4 of us in my party a good view of the fountain.
The receptionist then turned us over to our waitress for the evening - Ms. Dhey. After a few minutes, the Manager, Mr. Bhong Palomares, approached our table as well. And this was when our "memorable" night began.
While Bhong was helping us pick our dishes, the water fountain show (which is every 15 minutes) started and, as it was so great to see and also part of the reason why we picked this restaurant, we requested if we could possibly be moved to a window table that we noticed was still empty. Bhong said that he was still verifying if the party that reserved it would still be coming. Luckily, after several calls to the other party, Bhong was able to transfer us to the window table. And oh what a view of the water fountain it had!
Between Bhong and Dhey, they were able to help us pick our dishes. We ordered the seafood pizza (Pirata), the seafood risotto (Risotto ai fungi e fontina), and two seafood pastas (Spaghettini aloe vongole and Linguineallo scoglio).
Bhong had asked us earlier while we were ordering if all our orders were for "sharing". Having said we would like that, Bong arranged for all the dishes to be placed in the middle of our table and for all of us to have individual plates. Bong arranged for the pizza to be served first, followed by the Risotto, which he had conveniently asked the kitchen to already divide into 4 plates, and then the 2 pastas were served together.
To say that we were well-taken cared of would be an understatement. The service in this place was one of the best I have ever experienced.
Everything they served was excellent, from the freshly baked bread to all the dishes we ordered. All served on warm plates by attentive but unobtrusive restaurant staff. They just appeared like magic when you needed anything :-)
And almost on equal footing with the food and service was the water fountain show. Every 15 minutes or so a new show would start and they were simply spectacular. There is something about the combination of the water fountain dancing to music that was so relaxing and captivating.
We had such a great time that we hardly noticed that almost 2 hours had passed since we first entered the doors of the restaurant.
I would highly recommend this place. Make sure you get reservations for a window table. Next best choice would be the "second row" tables. You need to have at least an hour and a half I think to fully enjoy or maximize the experience.
