“Cosy ambience!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013 via mobile

Nice cosy place for dinner in Macau. Orders of food and fine had been repeated until the waitress could understand what we read from the menu. Food is in average. Spinach salad with dry beacon is very good. Barbecue pork is delicious but the duck & beef are a bit too dry. OK if you like restaurant with cosy atmosphere.

“Food was dry and brittle. Very disappointing”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2013

Perhaps I went on an "off" night? I visited La Paloma on a Wednesday night and was very disappointed.

PROS:
-lovely atmosphere a terrace that would be a dream for weddings. The food, however, would be a wedding's worst nightmare.
-attentive service

CONS:
-horrible food
-suckling pig was dry and brittle
-the rest of the meal was overly salty, lacking in any other flavours
-for the pricetag, the whole experience was outrageous

“Quiet elegance”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2013

The previous reviews pretty well sum up dining at La Paloma. What we loved was the quality of the food which was Spanish rather than Portuguese in origin. The service was excellent and discreet and the atmosphere cool and elegant, as you would expect in a Relais en Chateu premises. I was a little disappointed by the wine list which had a fantastic range of reds but very few whites to choose from. Great coffee.

“Getting Truly Lucky in Macau!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2012

After a hot, humid, crowded Saturday afternoon in November (!) of sightseeing in tropical Macau, my husband and I wound up around the corner from the A-Ma-temple, on a waterfront street below a hotel with a terrace. We asked outside about getting a beer and were invited up the stairs and into a lovely hotel. Because we weren't dressed for the restaurant, we sat out on the terrace and enjoyed a nice view of the waterfront. After cooling down with beer and lemon tea, we ordered the Paella Valenciana for two. It was the best paella either of us had ever eaten, by leaps and bounds - (and we were in Spain a year ago, and then again, just two months ago). The seafood (clams, mussels, squid) was succulent and fresh, chicken and sausage moist and delicious, rice flavorful. The rice included lots of lovely fresh pea pods and smaller bits of fish, meat and chicken. My description doesn't do it justice; I think it takes quite an accomplished chef to fashion something this special. After we ordered, the Maitre'd mentioned to us that the chef is famous worldwide for this dish, and we could understand why! If you find yourself in Macau, we highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you to the nice staff, and especially, to our very kind and helpful server, Assistant Director Joshua Khoo. Joshua recommended a perfect dessert for this meal, of sorbet, berries, and liqueur. Thank you!
