“Not as good as the first original Fat Siu Lau”
Reviewed 10 January 2012

On my recent business trip to Macau, I had dinner in Fat Siu Lau 3 because location wise it was closer to my hotel. The design of the Fat Siu Lau 3 is close to the original first Fat Siu Lau 1. However the ambience is lack of the classic old style of Fat Siu Lau.
Food wise, the pigeon was so so, the baked rice was kind of too hard because being cooked too long maybe. The pork knuckles was quite crispy and the african chicken was ok. However the classic dessert of souffle was so nice. Overall with the price paid (MOP 2200) for 8 persons, I felt this restaurant is over price.

“Fat Siu Lau 3 ~ A new cozy European style restaurant in Taipa Village”
Reviewed 31 March 2010

It just happened that they have a Chinese name, doesn't mean they serve Chinese food. Indeed, they serve genuine Portuguese foods. Agreed with the reviewer that the new restaurant is small, but cozy.

Read their flyers knowing that this is their new branch in Taipa opened just not long ago, named "Fat Siu Lau 3". I think the above address should be referred to their first shop, the new address should be on Rua do Regedor 181-185, R/C Taipa Village [--]. I did visist this area last year, remembered lining up for some famous pork chop buns. I could skip that this year. We ordered a few dishes in the restaurant and they were delicious:

Clams with tomatoe sauce - a bit spicy with some green/red pepper, very appetizing. And surprisingly no sands inside!

Curry Crab - love the taste, the sauce has no coconut milk in it and it's great to dip with bread.

Portuguese style fish dish - Forgot the dish name, presentation is just alright, but turn out to be quite tasty! Mixed vegetables, potatoes cooked in a light tangy tomatoe sauce. The fish is slightly deep fried, quite fresh!

Soufle - one of their signature dishes, fluffy vanilla flavor cake, intense aroma, becomes flat very quickly, suggest to eat it a la minute!!

After this mouth filling meal, we had a short walk back to the Venetians. And considering the great food, history and service, I would definitely come back next time, thank you!
