This area is delightful and is perfect for a leisurely stroll. You can wander through the streets looking at the beautiful, pastel colonial buildings and quirky stores.
The Taipa Houses Museum is also worth a visit. It is filled with interesting information and re-creations of times gone by. The history of this area and the origins and development of Macau are well documented and fascinating.
You simply cannot say you have been to Macau if you haven't been to the Taipa neighbourhood. This area is completely different to the mainland section - another world completely, which is just delightful.
Stop at Lord Stow's bakery for pasteis de nata and try an egg pudding and other local delights at one of the little restaurants. You will not be disappointed with the treasures that you find around every corner.
