There were a few interesting shops to see, but too crowded and hard to get to and back. Food shops here are great, best thing about this site. Had dim sum, famous egg tarts(highly recommended) . need to walk around to see everything, but too spread out, will very few really interesting places to go. Taxi's are hard to catch in this area. Be prepared to wait.

Great place to stroll around and a short walk from Venetian Macao at Cotai Strip. Nice food along the streets. The grilled beef cubes from a stall on the streets was really nice and delicious! We had dinner at Comida Portuguesa but we did not find it spectacular.

Finally, we regretted eating at Tat Veng U Chi Noodle house which is further off from Rua do Cunha. We decided to try it since we saw many photos of Hong Kong celebrities plastered around the restaurant and it is supposedly famous for its shark fin noodles. We all found it average, nothing special. The shark fin did not blend in with the stock; the soup was plain and the shark fin was tasteless.

This is a small original residential town surrounded by the huge hotels and modern trappings of Macao. (It's at the back of the Venetian). There is a school and humble housing for local residents. The streets are tiny and winding but very walkable. Little alleys dot the area, where there are many tiny cafes and interesting local nooks and crannies to discover. Some parts are rather run-down or overgrown, adding to the area's authenticity. We even chanced upon a Michelin-star restaurant called Antonio's where we were delighted to try Portuguese fine-dining. Not too many tourists in this small town -- worth a leisurely stroll.

The old part of Taipa still has all the old houses, some renovated but a nice area to buy souvenirs, eat and even shop

Didn’t know what to expect, from travel guides and pics it was promising old quarter area.
Found it small, crowded, full with tourist shops, food stools and cookies shops.
Overall impression is not more than just ok
