Westin is in excellent llocation. At the outskirt and on the beach. i stayed for a night on 1st june 2014. I got a ocean view room on the 8th floor. It was a big beautiful room with a king size bed which could easily accommodate me , my wife and my daughter. Adjacent to the room was a big balcony overseeing the ocean. balcony was with cane chairs. Room had a separate sofa cum bed which also can accommodate a child. Toilet , refrigerator in the room, iron board etc are all there. Overall room was excellent. In our price breakfast for two were included. Breakfast had a good spread. However, it was costly. I paid 206 HKD for breakfast for one additional person . We got free Hotel shuttle bus to get dropped at the ferry terminal. two more points 1) shuttle at the ferry terminal for the hotel was available only till 11.30 AM. We reached at 2 pm and didn't get shuttle bus. We have however seen shuttle buses of many other hotels at that time. 2) if u are going to venetian in the evening, chances of getting a shuttle bus for the hotel is less as bus which is coming from the ferry terminal is normally full. We had to wait for a long time to get a taxi. Taxi charge was 35HKD from venetian to the hotel. We didn't have dinner at the hotel as it was costly.

Room Tip: there are two sides. ocean view and beach view. similarly, if u are travelling with kid, specificall...

Dear Arnabbagchi,
Thank you for your excellent report of our newly renovated rooms. I was a bit confused regarding your report about the complimentary shuttle service as it runs every half hour between the ferry terminal and the hotel between 9:30 and midnight. Perhaps next time you will be able to catch it.
We hope to see you back again soon for another memorable experience.
Regards

Whether you like this hotel depends on what you are looking for. It is a good way out from the city life in Hong kong for a weekend. My reason to choose Westin but not the new hotels is because of the peaceful environment and the sunshine & pool. So most of the time I stayed at the pool or the room. The pool is good and the room is clean (if it is renovated). But the exterior wall and the roof of the hotel are quiet bad in condition. I think the hotel also aware this, so all the renovation goes to the key part first eg. the room (but not the balcony), the pool, the public resting area. If the budget comes, they may roll out the whole renovation plan. So as the hotel guest, the parts I had used are good enough. Some public area of the hotel is full of colonial style which creates very nice atmosphere. But the maintenance and daily cleaning work still have room for improvement.. e.g. many falling old leaves on the way to the pool which make the road a little bit untidy, together with the deteriorating walls of the hotel make the whole setting look like an unattended hotel. I guess they may have staff problem. I ordered 2 times of food during my stay, but each time came up with wrong food .. But overall so far so good! I had a good weekend.

Room Tip: Please reserve a king size bed before. I forgot so I was arranged at the last room at the Beach Win...

Though the hotel is pretty old but still in good conditon,If they could re-paint all the wall, it will look much better. you could have a nice breakfast at the balcony and enjoy the sun. The only problem is the shuttle, they don't have a fix place to park at Macau ferry station. After we asked a few people from other hotel booth, we're told the bus usually park next to the Emperor Hotel and it 's minibus only so waiting time is quite long.

Dear Bertha Y
Thank you for your valuable feedback and yes the exterior is on our list of renovation projects for 2014. Just have to wait till after the rainy season. Meanwhile many more interior upgrades will be tackled throughout this year. Our free shuttle service runs every 30mins on the hour and ½ hour from Macau ferry terminal Between 9:30am to midnight.

The hotel is a good ten minutes from the centre in a quiet area. Check in fast and friendly. ms khoo on reception, Malaysian duty manager was lovely throughout stay. Public areas look a bit 1980s but are smoke free which is lovely in Macau ! Pool area great for kids, sign says going through renovation..very very busy the day we arrived. A lovely phillipino staff member was basically running the whole area, staff seemed overwhelmed and not coping with crowds. Room was really nice, resort style, renovated, great terrace and view. Shuttle in and out of city good, well organized.
The next day pool area less crowded ands gaff more on top of things. Marina did a great job of looking after us, organizing a birthday cake and the male staff very visible and had working. Late check outs given no questions asked.
The hotel is ceasing to be the Westinghouse very shortly and we got the impressionist that this is an uncertain time for staff. There are not enough people working the pool and meal areas. Staff working very hard to cope. Spa staff by comparison seem very chilled and not really doing much!
Entrance to the pool is odd. Lots of pointless gates stopping you getting in unless you go up and downstairs via spa area. Not much signage!
Overall, some hard working staff, great room and nice smoke free location far from the incredibly busy casino area. Will be interesting to see how the hotel develop is year! Price wise a third less than other hotels. Remote and pretty location was actually a plus for us.

I have rated this as very good because the location, staff and comfort are exceptional. I did feel that the hotel had a bit of a 1970's "needs refreshing" look about it, but it is worth a visit anyway.

Located on a quiet part of the island, the staff really went out of their way to assist. I came in for one day only to stay with my sister's family who were staying for a few days. My enquiry about adding another bed was quickly answered in the affirmative and the bed was ready and waiting when I got there (at 1:30 am!). Breakfast was really nice and varied and the staff were friendly. The staff on the tourist desk were also really friendly and helpful.

The only thing that really needs chafing are the poolside cushions - they were faded and dirty and had bird droppings on them. The pool also looked clean except wearing goggles - then the floating things were a bit scary.

We deliberately chose this hotel to chill and wanted to stay away from the casinos.
Its a great atmosphere with good and friendly staff.
Our room was good with carpet that you dont mind walking barefeet on.
The restaurant serves superb Macanese food! Would definitely recommend the African Chicken. Better than Fernaxxx across the beach!

Room Tip: We booked a beach view room (but given an ocean view instead). Bed is really comfy!

the hotel was kinda old but the room was quite comfy and spacious with balcony.. the location is quite far from macau centre but there is a free shuttle bus from/to the hotel so it's not a problem.. however do check the timetable and location of shuttle bus service for your convenience.. I tried the high tea in the hotel too and it's pretty good.. overall it's a good stay..
