“Ok, you get what you pay for!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2014

Hello, I liked it there, the view from the terrace was great, the beer was cold and using any of the buses from Taipa/Macau makes it very easy to get there. TV didn't work, balcony door was broken and wouldn't open and as there was no shower (but the spa was soooo good) and the water pressure was so good that I had water everywhere! Lucky I had had a few cold beers! Use the local taxi's or the buses, all you need to do is walk up to the road. The transportation they offer is expensive by Macau standards and the guy doesn't speak English and doesn't know Macau! It took me 45 mins to get to a place that was 10 mins away and cost me 3 times a taxi would cost me. Staff are lovely and help you, it's in a great place, it's cheaper than the casinos and it's clean!

Room Tip: Ask to have everything fixed if you are going to stay for more than one night!

We found this hotel via internet. It's far from downtown and casinos but so quite, nice and in beautiful nature. Easily go there by bus 26a, so convenient to go there and back to city. You can access the beach in 5 min and go hiking in nature. Breakfast is perfect and have everything you need. Rooms got a little bit old but still in good conditions. View from room is perfect. Then the bubble bathtub also a nice gimmick. Pool was closed what was a little pitty. At all good place!!!

Quiet, charming, friendly, just a little bit far away from downtown. But Macao is small, so who cares? Good enough for a vacation time there nearby the beach!
As well as the friendly staff and good breakfast, we both like the atmosphere there. Bus station is nearby so, good opportunity to take a chance of taking local bus!

The hotel is quite very very far from Macau ferry pier, .the hotel reception is at a steep location and the you are expected to leave your taxi down below in the parking lot. So the luggage has to towed by yourself ( there is no bell boy concept ).
Being a period property, there are no elevators, and it was very difficult to cart my even one suitcase to my allotted room , some two levels down via the helix winding staircase.
The promised WiFi did not work in the room .
Nobody answers the telephone at reception.
I would feel that the hotel is meant for honeymooners who want a quiet place ,away from the hustle and bustle, and want to enjoy beach.

Room Tip: Try to get room nearest to reception

Just cannot fault the beautiful spot this is in. The beach is lovely. And we LOVED our room - past it's glory but with a stunning view - great double jacuzzi bath too. The terrace is just beautiful. The drinks were very cheap - breakfast very much a DIY job! In fact - the whole place was pretty much DIY - go to the bar to get drinks etc ...and it needs some TLC too! It's a real shame that the few staff they have are just completely inept. The night porter started at 10pm - and just walked past us and ignored us. So I had to dig him out to get a couple of glasses of port - when challenged on ignoring us, he was unrepentant and rude. And in the morning as a wedding was happening on the terrace, we put up with 3 hours of very loud scraping and dragging noises on our ceiling - god knows how they made such a racket with just 20 tables to put up... We would come again - but not hold our breath as to whether anyone cares enough to sort out the staff issues and training. The gondola italian restaurant on the beach was lovely and had great service!

Room Tip: Think all rooms have views. We got a king superior through hotels.com

I cannot begin to say how downhill this hotel has gone. I am always up for a quaint hotel and I will even deal with some flaws, but this was just too many. The place is so run down. We were given a room with mold all over the walls. I understand in Hong Kong this can happen, but nothing some paint can't fix. I asked to be moved to another room and it took 3 rooms to find one with the least mold. They have some traditional furniture but then went cheap and bought IKEA stuff to supplement and it just looked so out of place. In addition, in the room we finally stayed, the top of the bed had broken off and was just placed in the nightstand drawer. The breakfast was a joke and so unorganized. They didn't even finish cleaning up from a party the night before and it seemed like the breakfast was just throw together plus the staff were all eating at the same time...it was like 9am. The icing on the cake was seeing a rat running around the pool deck as we laid out. The best part was the staff just laughed and pointed and did nothing about it. The staff was friendly, but not the most efficient you might say. I can only imagine what this place used to be like because it has so much potential, but it is definitely not in good management and definitely WAY TOO expensive for what you get. I have written a lot of reviews and I have never given one, so it must be bad.

Room Tip: Find one without mold!

Another weekend trip. I took my mother here to escape the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. The taxi driver dropped us off at the bottom of a stair case (be sure to instruct the driver to take you up the driveway which is just past the staircase - this is where the main office is located).

The hotel has fairy lights on a trellis along the walkway from the driveway, past the restaurant and to the front desk. This gives you a very welcoming feel. They also serve meals on the rooftop overlooking the water (very peaceful).

The hotel itself, there are no lifts, just stairs. The service was efficient but not memorable.

Our room had a semi blocked view of the water. We slept with the windows open and we could hear the waves crashing (very peaceful). There are no screens so be sure to put on bug spray if you are sensitive to mosquitoes.

The beds were comfortable (medium firmness mattress) and the bathroom was very basic. Everything was clean. Just had a rustic feel (very charming though). Air-conditioning unit in the room was not working so we were lucky to be traveling in February.

Front of the hotel was across the street from the beach. The back side of the hotel was just off the main road. You have to walk up a few flights of steps to get to the bus stop. The front desk has ample amount of maps.
