“2 Nights in Macau”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2014

We came direct from Hong Kong Airport via the TurboJet ferry to the wharf and we had a little problem find the hotel shuttle bus, so look for the bus with number 88 on the side of it.
The hotel is grand from the lobby with the gold ingot in the floor to the breakfast.
The room was clean and comfortable.
We found the easiest way to get around was to catch the casino buses. We would catch the Emperor bus to the ferry then catch the City of Dreams bus to their casino and walk around from there. All the casinos have buses leaving from the ferry car park.

Room Tip: The 17th floor is the only non smoking floor so much sure you nominate non smoking when you book.

This is my second time stayed in this hotel. I stayed for 3 nights included daily breakfast. I really enjoy their breakfast which have quite variety of choice and their service are very good. They have given me a non smoking room as per my request, the room is specious, comfortable and clean. Overall hotel location is good, staff are friendly, good breakfast and also we enjoy their buffet dinner at Royal Kitchen. The only thing they need to be improved is their lift access card. 1st 2 cards given are not working and not only ours, I saw few of other guests are having same problem.

My wife and I stayed a night at the Grand Emperor in early April 2014 and enjoyed our stay. Overall I would recommend it to anyone planning a stay in Macau.
1) Check-in: quick and efficient, lobby had a grand old-world feel, and bellhop was efficient and courteous
2) Room: clean and comfortable, amenities in room was nice, bathroom spacious and clean, and the fishbowl in the center of the room was a nice touch
3) Breakfast: great breakfast included in the room rate. Good mixture of Eastern and Western foods, and the staff spoke English
4) Location: central to the core-Macau area, and everything is very accessible. If you're looking for a Las Vegas like experience you should stay on the Cotai-Strip.
5) Price - seemed reasonable for what you get
6) Wi-fi included

Well located for main attractions of Macau. Staff were helpful. The room was average and the breakfast had a good variety. The decore in the restaurant needs updating, as the chairs are stained and have black marks on the fabric. This hotel is low budget in comparison with many others in Macau, there is no impressive lobby features. The London guards are a bit tacky, and I'm not sure of their relevance to "Emperor", could understand if it was a British theme.
We stayed on the only non smoking floor, but it still stank of cigarette smoke.
Be aware that if you do not speak Chinese, you will have to ask the hotel staff to write down your location and destination in Chinese to give to a taxi driver.

Room Tip: floor 17 is the only non smoking floor, but it still smells. There would have to be 100km winds to g...

Well located, total easy transportation around and walking distance to the historic center. Excellent breakfast, luxurious facilities. Only problem is that the casino works in the first 6 floors and some cigarette smell in the elevators.

Large comfortable rooms with good view, very close to Wynn, MGM and Lisboa hotels which are very happening places. Spa facility no where close to what u would find in Thailand or Bali. Spa reception not even welcoming and so we didn't even bother checking out the facility. If u r looking for travel information at the front desk, not a good idea. Even when we were returning to Hong Kong we were sold the tickets to the wrong ferry terminal, mainly because the staff do not speak English.

Room Tip: V booked a superior and got a deluxe upgrade which was very good.

I stood here inn 2008 during a business trip. The hotel is very well located and it is very well designed. Lobby was great, spacious and staff were extremely efficient and nice. Room and very big with an extra large bed. Bathroom and room were very clean. Breakfast was very very good and with lots of variety. I would stay here again for sure.
