“Comfortable, Nothing Extraordinary”

Pick up arranged by the hotel at the pier was not satisfactory, it was difficult to exactly locate where the bus would arrive, no display boards at the pier parking. Staff at the reception had difficulty understanding English. Staff was more interested in attending Chinese guests. The rooms were clean & spacious, the buffet breakfast was okay but had inadequate variety of veg options to choose from. In room service was casual. Washrooms were small, toiletries were not of good quality. Compared with other hotels Venetian, Galaxy, MGM this hotel does not have an Arcade feeling. Eating joints, shopping options are limited, crowd footfall is almost zero in short nothing enticing. Casino is cramped, staff can hardly understand English.

Only plus is that it is located in close vicinity to Hotel Venetian and Galaxy. These hotels have a festive feeling.

It's definitely a hotel for traveler's who have budget constraints, A strict no no for honeymooner's. Hotel misses the 'WoW' element.

Room Tip: Rooms on the North side has a great view, perfect to see the sunrise.

Five Star at cost of Four. This is how Hotel Grand Waldo in Macao advertises itself to be, and rightly so. Located in close (read walking) vicinity to the attractions of Macao - Hotel Venetian and Hotel Galaxy - Grand Waldo offers everything one can expect at a Five star hotel except for the rush of a five star. The breakfast spread can be something that can be improved upon but otherwise its a budget stay in a grand hotel.

This was the cheapest five star hotel room at Macau on Agoda and we booked two rooms for the family. This was a "Chinese" five-star lobby - predictable, glitzy and glossy. The location is not central and a 5 minute taxi ride from the Strip. The check-in was efficient and the rooms were large and clean. The beds were kind of hard but comfortable and really we spent only 4/5 hours at night in the room with the hectic Macau night-life. The bathroom was large, shower pressure and temperature adequate. The toiletries were nothing exceptional to speak about. Personally, i did not like their breakfast spread. We however tried their Lunch & Dinner buffets which were extensive and value-for-money. There is nothing to se around the Waldo and their Casino is avoidable. Compared to the room rates of all other properties this was great value-for-money!

One think about this hotel, it is near the Galaxy and the Venetian's casino. It is an older hotel, our room was having a view on the water side, but far from the charming Portuguese old Macau, you need a taxi. The room was OK, the bed was hard. Nice pool with very few chair. The breakfast does not have a great variety. Service is not very good. This is a three star hotel not more.

we Stayed for 2 nights, the hotel location is good, the rates are quite affordable looking to the rate prevailing in that area. The Galexy and Venatian are at walking distance. The hotel is having shuttule services every half hours which can be used to commute the main city.

Well.... I had high expectations and was let down. In general we had a great time in Macau, but nearly all of those good memories were made at other hotels we taxied to.

The hotel is nice and clean, the beds are super hard but nice down pillows, and they tried by putting a feather bed topper but it didn't help. The best part of the hotel was the free Breakfast, it is a proper buffet with many western and Asian options, and the espresso machine was delightful.

Do not pay for the extra "harbor view"- it is a muddy ugly poor excuse for an up charge.

The concierge was very helpful in chatting with us about where to go in old town, and gave good suggestions. We went to Wynn and walked all around that area.

Casino at Waldo.... All old outdated machines and it was like a ghost town. The main reason I booked this hotel was for the on site casino and pool. The casino was not worth me spending my money, and it was foggy so would not enjoy the pool.

Macau in general-- cabs are all metered and inexpensive. About $4-5 USD for close travel to airport and other hotels, and a couple more dollars for old town. Drivers are all fair and try to give you back all your change, so we tipped them all well and made us feel good. Waldo is about 5 mins drive to the Venetian (which was fabulous) and about 10 mins to old town Macau.

Hotel is quite decent but the staff and the service overall is really bad. If you want to have spa, fun and quiet place to live then this is the place to be. But it's far away from the main city so you won't be able to roam around much. You can take a cab or something to goto old Macau city. Hotel Venetian, one of the famous casino is nearby so that's the advantage.
