“Stylish Gourmet Hidden Gem in Hac Sa Wan (Areia Preta)”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

Stylish lounge serving a beautiful selection of gourmet tapas featuring a cornucopia of top Spanish products skilfully prepared with an emphasis on Catalonian recipes. Beverages include a list of great value cavas that will make you wonder why you ever bothered with champagne.
My first trip there, I was impressed and delighted with all the tapas served, which included house-marinated olives and cheese, Iberian ham, croquettes, Catalonian cannelloni, toasted artichoke with ham and egg, roasted eggplant with brie and romesco sauce and, finally, a beautiful Bacallà gratinat a la mousselina d'all amb xamfaina (salt cod with garlic mousse gratin on ratatouille).
Your mouth should be watering uncontrollably by now.
This is a new, deluxe concept from the same people who brought Macau the ever-so-popular L.B. Superpollo chain of paella and rotisserie chicken joints. They already earned locals' devotion with Superpollo's way-better-than-fast-food attention to quality and service, so prepare to be blown away now that they are offering you that same honest dedication to authentic ingredients, but with a more elaborate, gourmet menu in a swanky bar setting with tasteful décor. In essence, this is the place to bring your date if you want to eat really well while also impressing his/her socks off. Once the secret gets out, I have a feeling this will be a place to see and be seen as well.
Tucked away in the car dealers' zone of Hac Sa Wan (Areia Preta), right upstairs from the neighbourhood's own brand new Superpollo, it's on Rua de Venceslau de Morais (a small street perpendicular to the main Avenida de Venceslau de Morais) running between the CEM power plant and the big red doors of the fire station.

“Family, cozy, Spanish restaurant”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

Restaurant located in an old part of macau, industrial area, outside of the crowded casinos/ hotels flashing lights.
It is definitely worth stopping in when you want a break from the standard.
We arrived quite late, 10pm, and we stayed almost untill 2am - kitchen is openned untill late.
Our table asked for the Chef and the owner who greeted us and spent time with us and we gave him "carta blanca" to create a dining experience for us. Our experience lasted for 3 hours and we were all very impressed at the end of the meal.
Excellent value for money, nice selection of wines covering every major Spanish wine region as well as Cava's.

Atmosphere:
* Low, flattering lighting
* Comfortable seating
* Friendly staff
* Good music, but not too loud so you can have actual conversations

We will definately be back.

“Nice and cozy Spanish gastro”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

This is another excellent venue to experience the gastronomic delights of Spain and wind down after a long day. You will be amaze with the setting and decor as it's something that you can never imagine esp having established in an industrial area. It's located next to the new Superpollo, the already household name for locals. Bar Celona offers top notch Spanish products at a decent price, but don't expect it to be cheap as all ingredients are mostly imported or freshly made. All in all, we enjoyed our first gastro here so much that we're already planning for our return trip.
