“Overall good stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 January 2014 via mobile

Travelled with my friend for a 3 night stay (new years eve to 2nd jan). When arriving we had an awfully long wait to check in, around 30 minutes. Only 2 staff on the desk when 3-4 other staff were wondering around behind reception and seemed to not notice the long queue forming. We had requested early check in but it was "unavailable" so had to drop our bags off in the luggage room and go explore around Disney for 4 hours before we could get our keys.

We had been upgraded to suites from a previous dissapointing stay at the magic circus hotel- which is castles sister hotel, and the rooms were lovely. One room on the first floor and one on the 4th. Both suites were very large (took around 5 minutes to draw all the curtains every night!!). Lounge area was within the "turret" at the front of the building so it was circular- nice added touch. Rooms both very clean and bathroom good standard. Love the added touch of extra l'occitane bath goodies in the suites (didn't get them in the standard double rooms at the circus hotel). Beds comfortable and clean, although the pillows were very small? Which was kinda weird for a king sized bed.

Friend did complain about a horrible smell on fourth floor corridors- might be explained by USED nappies that were left outside rooms for several hours. Staff trolleys filled with dirty towels constantly in corridors- I don't think one moved for our whole stay! There was even one dumped directly outside my door one night.

Shuttle bus to and from Disney was easy as usual! Ate breakfast at the hotel every morning- okay standard. Usual buffet style in french hotels. Tip for families (saw loads of people doing this)- take some food bags with you and fill a baggette up with ham/cheese for your little ones lunch that day! No drinks in the mini fridge within the rooms- disappointing for a "4 star" and definitely should be included in a suite! So take bottled water with you.

Would recommend for families wanting a cheap hotel near Disney for basic stop off overnight. Not really a hotel you could stay in all day though. Overall- better than magic circus! Staff much friendlier and mostly assertive.

Day trips into Paris easy enough as well. Get the disney shuttle to the train station outside Disney. Only 8€ for a ticket for all 5 zones in Paris and found RER to be so much easier than London Underground! Hotel also offers shuttle (5€) to la Vallée village- an outlet shopping village. Also has huge shopping centre next to it with "normal" shops in and massive supermarket.. So there are other things to do close by if you are sick of Disney!

Arrived on New Year's Day and checked in and went off to Disneyland

Returned at 3pm when instructed to collect room key to find a hoard of angry guests waiting for their rooms
Manager explained that there was a delay because previous guests did not check out but was unable to give us any idea when rooms would be ready and appeared unaffected by at least 20 angry guests clearly unhappy - who were not being appeased by the offer of free soft drink!

After waiting for over an hour we were given our key - once we lined up for a second time as no one even bothered to follow us up

The corridors were cluttered with cleaning trolleys - cleaning of rooms continued until after 7:30pm!

We arrived at our room which was supposed to be a themed suite only to find that it was a basic room with two double beds and a cot - my children are 9 & 13 but we were told Expedia specially requested two cots for my two babies - Expedia was also blamed for the double booking of rooms

I went back to reception and lined up for another 30 minutes only to be told that the suites were all booked out and we were given their next best room - which changed from being called a double queen room to a junior suite although junior suites do not exist according to their website - even though I booked our room one year in advance back in January 2013!!

We were offered a free dinner in their restaurant as compensation - although the difference in room costs was nearly 200 euro - unfortunately the food was largely inedible, over cooked, dry and tasteless - even as a free meal it really was unsatisfactory - and they tried to make us pay for drinks even though the voucher clearly included drinks

We were asked to check out of our room and re check into a suite the following day and after returning from Disneyland at 4:30pm and waiting in line for another hour to collect our new room keys we made it to the suite

Unfortunately while the new suite had two rooms it was considerably more cramped than the previous wrong room and was not in any way themed as expected

The beds are soft which was a nice change to other hotels but the pillows were awful

The tea/coffee provision in the rooms is pathetic - 2 sachets of coffee and 2 tiny milk pods allocated for a suite for 4 people

Small heated pool that is nowhere as big as it looks on the Internet - they even charge 2 euro per towel after paying a fortune for the accommodation

Over priced, disorganised, chaotic, with terrible food

The best thing about the hotel was the wireless Internet which connected easily and was strong enough to let me leave this review!

If you are looking for a place to lay your head which is cheaper than staying in the actual park (10 min free transfer) then go ahead and book this hotel.

Do not expect a nice dinner in either the restaurant or the bar.

On arrival, check in was a little slow. A few staff seemed to be busy with other jobs - like checking lists etc but people checking in should be a priority.

Our room was lovely. On the 4th floor, lifts available. Although the smell in the corridors needs to be addressed.
2 bunk beds with a curtain to separate - my daughter LOVED the bunk beds and the reading light. Very well thought through. Our king size bed was clean, comfortable. The room was nice and warm. Bathroom clean etc.

No bottled water in the rooms is a problem I think needs to be addressed for a 4 star hotel this is expected. The vending machines which are outside the lifts - either didnt work or didnt have any water. My husband made several trips to and from reception after his money was swallowed by machines on every floor. We called reception but they said they couldnt help. Pretty poor considering the price you pay for 2 nights.

The only downside which is a huge factor - the restaurants and food available.
- Room Service Menu - needs a total revamp. Very limited, overpriced. €17 for a sandwich??
- The buffet in the main restaurant - looked horrendous. €25 Euro per person. We decided not to eat there after seeing what was on offer.
- The bar menu - is pretty similar to the Room Service menu. I had a Chicken Salad - the chicken could have been fresher. My husband said the small cheese burgers werent bad.

Breakfast buffet was ok. It was included in the price. If I paid extra for it I wouldnt have been happy

Shuttle bus from outside the hotel every 20 minutes. Takes about 10 minutes there and 15-20 minutes back due to other drop offs but all very easy.

Spa & Swimming Pool. Not really like the photo's but its a "nice to have". The changing rooms could be cleaner. You also have to pay €2 Euro for a towel so take the ones from your room.

The main lobby has several arcade machines which keep the kids happy for a bit. A few didnt work and again, swallowed the 2 EURO's each time, lots of trips to and from reception!

Would I go back - No.

Highlights - Rooms were great.

Stayed here for 3 nights for my daughters birthday and new year.
Party was 2 adults 2 children 6 and 2.
As of all my reviews on here Im honest and tell it as I see it to make sure that family's in a similar situation make sure they no what they are getting.
We traveled on euro star which was a joy in it self boarded in London and on the door step to disney land in a few hours

The hotel

Check in was good it was busy but didn't find the wait bad as plenty in the lobby for the kids to do. We were an hour and half early but room was ready.

Room was perfect big enough for 4 clean and with nice decor touches. Bunk beds for the kids were great they loved them.

Swimming pool was a great little touch good slide for the kids and lockers didn't require change.

Breakfast open from 7 till 11. Even if you turn up at ten to 11 everything is full fresh bread etc etc loads of choice fruit yogurts toast bacon cereal more than you could eat and drink.

Bar area was good we got some sandwiches and a drink and wasn't to badly priced staff friendly and helpful.

Shuttle services is every 15 minutes to the park and great. From the station to the hotel and vice a versa is bus number 54. It gets busy on the buses and some of our foreign friends seem to work on the basis of last in the line first on so hold you're own. But if you have a push chair it's better to be on last so bare that in mind as you don't get squashed in so first in line isn't always best.

On the night of New Years we got back very late and there was no where open to get water so I asked at reception. They couldn't of helped enough she went off and came back with some bottled water.

It's very rare that I give a 100% on my reviews but everything from start to finish all staff etc etc was great. I would challenge anyone that gives this below a 4 mark write up. We have stayed in 5* around the world and even though this is a 4* it's hospitality is up there.

I would defiantly return....

Had a lovely trip here with my husband and daughter but thought it to be way way overpriced. Although we had an amazing holiday I think it was just too much. Rooms were nice but could have been nicer. A few basic things seemed to be missing, such as hangars! Breakfast only ok. Won't be back. Will book the budget hotel next time!

We stayed for one night in a bunk bed room, the bedroom itself was a lovely room with bunk beds and super king sized bed, had a curtain in front of the bunk beds ( a nice touch and fun for my little one). It was clean and the only moan was the sink was cracked. My main problem with the hotel was the arcade machines all across the entrance of the hotel.. It made a 4* hotel feel really cheap. Do not go for dinner at the Resturant it was €29 per adult and €11 per child, the food was ok BUT not hot! And the kids food was not good (not sure what was in the chicken nuggets, but did not look like chicken ) and my son refused to eat it. It does have a nice location for the park and the staff were helpful.
