“Nice place to eat. Good value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 February 2014

In my tour across Ireland I stopped by this place to have a lunch.
Although is a hotel they do a very good lunch for non residents with a very reasonable price. around 10 euros per person.
The food was delicious and very big plate, specially recommended if you are sturving after a long trip.
Very good place and amazing views. I wouldn't mind to go back for one night,

Great value, great food for breakfast, excellect customer service. The pub is very comfortable with some nice trad music on the Saturday. The views are simply stunning. We will return in the summer and would recommend to a friend.

As a frequent visitor to the Armada in the past, it is with great regret that I now find myself in a position where I will not return. Whilst in the past we persuaded people to try out the value at this hotel, we now go out of our way to dissuade people. They simply don't deserve the business or repeat custom.

1. Lack of hospitality:

As a customer who has been visiting the hotel twice annually for over 6 years, I am stupefied by the impoliteness and insincerity of Jerome, one of the receptionists. We have stayed in the most expensive rooms in the place and still, when it comes to booking again, no reciprocity of our loyalty is shown. I am not asking to have a free ride but the attitude you get from this particular individual makes you wonder how he ever thought that hospitality was ever an appropriate or viable career option.

Though there have been many instances of Jerome's inhospitable countenance, my last dealings with him will serve as an ice-cold reminder that this man will stop at nothing to impinge upon my country breaks. I was offered far cheaper rates by another member of staff 25 mins after Jerome had quoted us a typically skewed and extortionate rate. I understand that the hotel obviously allows flexibility in pricing for guests but why does Jerome insist upon inflating prices? particularly for repeat customers? Is he working on commission?

Thankfully, we have found a wonderful little place up the road who are only delighted to avail of the business and willing to go above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The hotel manager himself goes out of his way to facilitate guests and is very sincere.

Thankfully this tale of woe doesn't end that badly for the Armada. The hotel itself will always do well given that it seems to host more weddings than a las Vegas Church. We always enjoyed the hotel itself finding the suites to be of particular charm but we could not tolerate what we perceived to be an injustice every time we spoke with this member of staff.

A bit of honesty, sincerity and loyalty go a long way in dealing with customers... Let us hope change will come

Stayed at the Armada for a one night stay on a escapes deal, fantastic value.
We asked for a sea veiw room ,they were all booked but receptionist found a room with a part sea veiw , room was clean, and had everything we wanted, it was cold tho, and after a member of staff came and said the heating was about to be turned off, i rang down to reception for robes and slippers, they came in about 15 mins, we then went out and returned around 2 hrs later, to a much warmer room, as an electric radiator had been put in our room, we were very gratefull for that.
Dinner was in Jonny burkes from the bar menu, and was excellent as were the desserts, the staff were allso great, Armada, should be very proud of their staff, i will have to single out Padraig, hes warm, freindly, and hes customer service is second to none.
Breakfast was served in our room by two of the happiest girls, i,ve seen at 9.30am, it followed on from the nights dinner , excellent !! all in all a lovely stay and we will be returning

From the moment we entered to the minute we left our experience at the Armada was fabulous. We were three couples and booked dinner B&B at the Armada. To begin with our room had a bath in it which was beautiful and kept jokes going the whole night for when we retired to our rooms. The views from the rooms were spectacular overlooking the beauty of County Clare. The food, and service were second to none, and the bar, was great, its like a real pub so you don't really feel you are in a hotel at all. Highly recommend for a night away, its a lovely hideaway. The walk in the morning really blows the cobwebs away!! - If you are thinking about going- don't hesitate. You won't regret it.

We decided to take a last minute overnight to the Armada and as usual everything was excellent. We ate off the bar menu for a change and we were not disappointed, the food and service was excellent. Great atmosphere. Breakfast the following morning again was perfect. We will return. Thank you.

Had a 1 night stay in this hotel with my fiance last week as a treat ....this is the summary :

Location
Right on the coast - my room had a sea view and it was a windy day. No wind noise and fantastic scenery

Food
Bar food was only option on the day . Menu was still extensive and something for everyone . Chicken wings were special !!!!!!

Room
Lovely warm room , I'm not a fan of the heat but herself was hugely impressed €14 wine delivered to room option too

Bar
Fire was too die for on a cold evening . Nice irish music on in the background . Cosy would describe it best .

Service
Very good all round service in this hotel

Overall
Il be booking again ASAP !!!!!!!
