My husband and I stayed at the Armada hotel while attending a wedding, a brief overnight stay.

The hotel is very tasteful, and in a beautiful location, The views from the restaurant are spectacular, and well worth the trip. The rooms themselves were comfortable, and the food was exceptional (both the wedding meal and the breakfast buffet).

There is no wireless connectivity in the rooms, and phone reception was very patchy, but as this was not a business trip, this was more of an inconvenience than anything else. The front desk staff were very accommodating and offered to let me use their phone when I asked about phone coverage.

The biggest disappointment for me was the room service charges. As parents of a young toddler, we were looking forward to breakfast in bed as a rare treat. However, as I was completing the breakfast card, I noticed that there was not simply a small tray charge (which would have been fine) but the tray charge was a. high and b. per person, and there were supplements on some of the breakfast options. This meant that for my husband and I to have breakfast in the room, we would have been charged up to 20 euro extra, which is more than double the charge in anywhere else I have ever stayed. We were both quite disappointed with this aspect, and it spoiled an otherwise lovely stay.

Room Tip: Rooms with a sea view are beautiful

Really nice hotel by the sea, room had great views of the coast. Food was excellent , really no complaints. Breakfast also very good. little pricy at 238.00 for 2 nights B@B, would normally expect an evening meal, but other than that, very nice hotel !

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the sea !

Stayed here recently for 2 nights, really enjoyed our time. Location is peaceful and remote, looks right out onto the beach. Breakfast was nice both mornings, good selection. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The best thing about this hotel however has to be the bar food...huge portions and very reasonable. Fish and chips is one of the best I've tasted! Unfortunately Johnny Burkes bar was undergoing renovations when we were there but it didn't take from our stay though it would have been nice to see it. Staff are friendly and accommodating, especially the bar staff! Would recommend.

Both my wife and I were recently overwhelmed by this hotel's amazing coastal location and luxurious rooms. The hotel's wonderful dining and bar facilities were ably supported by superb staff who were both welcoming and efficient. From reception to check-out, this hotel captured our attention and I am delighted to record it's virtues and sing it's praises. Having stayed in numerous hotels both domestically and abroad, I am proud to report that room 191 ranks up there with the best. Congratulations Marian. Maintain your role model status.

Room Tip: Select room 191 or a neighbouring location.

I have stayed at The Armada Hotel on several occasions so feel it’s about time I wrote this review. Latest stay was with my partner and son for one night on 15th of Feb.
Everything from check in to check out was as good as ever. Dinner delicious, with lots of choice either in the Restaurant or Bar, menu always includes lots of local produce. Breakfast is a buffet, full Irish, again with a lots of locally produced items, cheese, dairy, cold cuts, cereal, fruit, homemade breads, croissants, (teen son loves these). There’s a carvery lunch available, if you can find room to eat it following the big breakfast.
Found surprise Valentines brownies and chocolates were delivered to our room while we were at dinner, they’d even included some bars for our teen son so we didn't have to share! More indulgence. Thank you chocolate fairy!
